This place has amazing food. We made reservations for New Years Eve. The reason for one less star, is they charged us a $ 5 cover charge per person to cover a band they hired for the night. We had reservations at 5:30 pm and had two kids. They placed us in a back room by ourselves. We never heard the band play because they hadn’t started yet. It’s pretty lame to have a cover charge for an event that starts later in the night and for kids and toddlers? Pretty distasteful. On a brighter note, they had a special three course menu. I picked the lobster bisque as a starter. Wow !!! Not too creamy, but just perfect on flavor. The croutons in the soup were perfectly crunchy and buttery. We also got some amazing bread with pesto and corn on it. It was almost like garlic bread, but better. For our entrée, I got the surf and turf. The lobster dipped in butter was amazing. The filet mignon was cooks perfectly and went well with fresh horseradish. It was placed on mashed potato with cheese and a side of sautéed vegetables. There was an abundance of food and I had to save room for the third course, dessert. I got the apple bread pudding. If you have a sweet tooth this will hit he spot. Crispy and cinnamon on the top layer with apples on the inside dipped in caramel and vanilla sauce. I couldn’t stop eating it. Again, it was a generous portion. My husband got the chocolate mousse for dessert. It was light and a perfect dessert that o could have finished by myself. The three course meal came out to $ 43. I guess I shouldn’t complaint too much about the $ 5 cover charge. It was just irritating and made no sense. We got a bottle of a red blend Tanner wine. They have a tasting room down the street and their wine is amazing. It went perfectly with our meal. The service was impeccable and our server Chris was great. Considering they won’t have a cover charge on a normal day, we will definitely be back.

Our group of 12 was here on 12÷4÷15 for Murphy’s Open House. Service and ambiance were decent. We requested three separate checks, which they happily obliged; a 20% gratuity was added… somewhat expected with large group and/or split checks. Food reviews were mixed: two of us had the meatloaf which was not awful, but certainly not inspiring at all… I’ve made much more creative ones at home… however the roasted winter veggies on the same plate were incredible. Burgers are good, but if you order medium well, it may come out extremely pink… makes you wonder. Ribs were reported to be good. Kids seemed to like their mac and cheese, but it is similar to a boxed variety, although that can be a good thing… many kids have simple palates. Complimentary bread is tasty as well. Everything was decent/good, but nothing was incredible or north of decent. From 8.5 years ago, I remembered the 3 hearts caesar salad as being excellent… but didn’t order it this visit.

Our family’s Black Friday lunch feast here. Sister-in-law recommended the restaurant, since she’s dined here before. Seater informed us of a 30 minute wait, yet we were seated by 20 minutes. Loved loved loved their signature Gold Nugget cheese bread. Lamb and barley soup was on point — piping bowl of broth soup with soft barley and generous chunks of tender lamb. Large portions of entrees all around. Ordered their ultimate meatloaf, quesadillas, pulled pork sandwiches were flavorful and excellently prepared. Chicken pesto pasta was ok. Ultimate meatloaf was melt-in-your mouth delicious. Ultimate comfort food. Family downed 4 kinds of beer. My light orange and coriander beer hit the spot. Our server was busy and seemed a bit overwhelmed this day after Thanksgiving but he was able to attend to us. He had good suggestions for specials. It was a pleasant dining experience. We’ll be back.
