Let me be clear, this is not my first at a Goat. My first time was at their Louisville location in KY off of Landis Ridge last fall and I’ve got to say, two completely separate experiences. The night I chose to dine in had to have been one of their most busy nights, seeing as how I couldn’t even park my car, yet alone see any sign of an open table from the time I walked in the door. To be honest, I was beginning to expect yet another long sit in the lobby as I tend to encounter at these new modern styled bars. To my surprise and despite the intense crowd, I was signaled by a young man behind the bar just as I was about to find a place to sit and wait. He greeted me as if I was a regular and informed me of a seat that was just opening up at the far end of the bar. almost forgot that the place was packed! Never have I ever seen such calm yet attentive service at a bar like this on such a busy night. It was like this was their usual crowd! The bartender, joe I believe, walked me across the bar and quickly cleaned off a spot and took my order. What stuck out the most about his performance was how I felt like I was being served at a good friends backyard bbq and he was glad that I came. I pride myself on my keen eye for superior service etiquette and this guy must have written the book on it. I came alone yet the staff made me feel as if I was amongst old friends. The selection of what he had on tap was impressive but not the best that I’ve seen. Also, the menu felt a bit shallow but I guess thats to be expected at a place that seems to focus more on the beverage than the food. What keeps me from giving this joint a 4 is the remarkable service I experienced. I ordered the bleu buffalo pizza and a side of tots recommended by some previous reviews for this place. Both of which were served hot and at a a fairly reasonable time, too. With a simple yet satisfying menu, superior service, and amenities around every corner(sliders, volleyball, some jenga looking game, and I’m sure there was more), this place clearly sets a new standard of quality for bars to reach everywhere.

Great hidden bar! They have a pool table and shuffleboard so a nice area to be active. There is long bar or tables depending on your preference. My favorite part is the fire pit! They play a variety of music or sometimes they even have live music! They also have tons of tvs if there is a big game on!

Alright, listen. I can only speak from personal experience here. Not what my fellow humans think of this place, no matter how esteemed their online swagger may be. Facts are this IMHO: great bar, great food, great atmosphere. I’ve been a couple times, once at Happy hour, once after. Both times had great drinks„ great food, and great service. The bartenders are fabulous here. Prompt, friendly, and good at mixing drinks. Servers have been friendly and personable. The food has always hit the spot. Getting to where I really like this place!

One of the best places in the Boro for lunch. Love the farmhouse tots! Also a great place to celebrate a birthday or any other special occasion… they are very easy to work with in planning the special celebration.

Expect this location to close whenever they feel fit. One hour, hour and half, it doesn’t matter. If it seems slow and there are not enough patrons at the bar, they are«calling it a night.» Ask them to honor the hours on their website and door and you can expect to be turned away. I’ve experienced service issues here during every visit, but this is a new low.

Hostess time tables are horrible if it gets busy… if they say 30 minutes, expect to leave. You will be waiting there for over an hour just to go up and ask how much longer and they say um… another 30 minutes.

This place surprised me! The vibe was upscale, but the atmosphere was causal. It was perfect for my Friday afternoon happy hour work crew. It didn’t take us long to get seated, but we did get there before the crowd. Our waiter was awesome! Nathan was very attentive and made sure that we had drinks the whole time we were there. I had the Carnivore pizza which was really good! I will definitely be back to try more of their pizzas. They also have a pretty good happy hour, I wouldn’t say the best in Murfreesboro, but it was good. I have to also note that the music was pretty good that day! Our waiter Nathan actually was the«DJ»(aka his Pandora), and he had us dancing and singing the whole time we were there to 90s Hip Hop and R&B. :) I will definitely be back!

Good job. Rob in the bar was great. The only reason for the four stars is they only normally offer the buffet on Sunday. I didn’t want breakfast, as I could’ve had that at home…

Had a reservation for 16. When we walked in Manager blew us off and said they are not honoring reservations. What a joke. After the bar tenders Greg and Joe recognized our group was receiving terrible service from the Manager they saved the day and provided fantastic service!

The good bad and the ugly. I called a few dad In advance and talked to jason. I let him know I had a business meeting with 16 people and we’d like to make a reservation. They don’t make reservations he told me but he confirmed he knew we were coming. When we arrived with our group I was met by Jason who firmly informed me that he didn’t have the wait staff to handle our group so it would be and hour wait. I asked him about our discussion a few days earlier and he could say nothing. Highly aggravated by now with 16 ppl in tow I would have gone anywhere else if the shuttle had not already left. Jason would not even offer up a simple«sorry». The guy should not be in the business and is one of the worst hosts I’ve met in my travels. Being stuck there we went to the bar and ordered several pizzas. The bartenders actually redeemed this place. Greg(beard and tattoos) and Joe(polo shirt and great hair) are great! As soon as they heard what happened they were all over the situation. They allowed us to use an area near the pool table and shuffle board. Joe even opened the pool table for us. These guys were great — In fact they should probably be the managers. All said, even though I was angry with the manager who is an absolute loser(who we never saw again for the night) we were extremely satisfied with the bartenders and their going out of their way even though it wasn’t their job. The pizzas were great and there was a good selection of beer. The ambiance is perfect. I wish I could talk more about the food but I was just too distracted by Jason’s absolute disrespect for my team. It was good enough that I went back the next night without the group. I’d rate them even higher if not the bad experience with Jason(why is this guy even here? He should be changing oil at a fast lube). Greg… Manage this place please so we can keep coming back!

Every bar tender charges a different prices, Mr. Polo charged $ 8 for two beers and Mr Black Beard charged $ 11 for the same two beers. SMH.

The atmosphere is perfect! After giving this restaurant at least 5 opportunities, I am sad to give such a poor review. However the service is so poor and has never improved since opening. The food is good even cold. I can’t imagine how good it would be if properly served! Return visits are not likely!

I truly enjoyed my visit to Goat. I was there for a gathering and the service was great. Melissa took the order, brought the items asked for and all was right on time, even with a large amount of people. The food was great, the drinks were perfect. I will definitely be back… great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, awesome service! Please keep up the great work!

The location itself is great and I agree with many that it’s nicer than most bar and grills in the boro. However the food really needs a makeover and a new drink menu with better specials. Although I will say The Edison is a staple drink and worth visiting for. I would go for drinks and not food. Would give it a two because of only being good for drinks but the food isn’t awful it’s just not great.

I wanted so hard to like The Goat but overall it was not very good. The restaurant itself was beautiful. High ceiling, exposed rafters, and a poolside patio make for a great place to sit and look around. Not only that but the pool tables and bar both provide great opportunities to meet new people. However, the food does not live up to the standard set by the atmosphere. At times, it seemed like this place tried too hard to be «trendy» and missed having good food. Their tater tots here are very good. I will give them that. Despite these, the restaurant does not have much to offer. I had the main, house specialty burger and I did not like it. Overall, though, this place is a great place to come and meet new people but not to eat at.

A beautiful restaurant, bar and patio. Small insects flying everywhere. On food on us on the table. We were constantly waiving them off. Our server blamed the problem on the outside dumpster being too close to the restaurant. The food was bland and nothing special.

I have been here three times because it is so relaxing. The service & food is a little below average and I count on it not been backed. They have plenty of TV for the games and live band on the weekend. The scenery with the pool and beach volleyball helps with the relaxing décor. The food & drinks are a little over priced especially with the slow service.

Enjoyed dinner here with some friends the other night! Has a awesome variety on the menu, great mix of flavors very fresh! We had the plain tots with beer chz dip and the hummus plate for appetizers, the tots were ok I was honestly expecting better since they are famous for their tots. Not sure I would order them again :(. I had the Maui Maui tacos for my meal, the chutney that topped the tacos was delicious and very colorful added a sweet and spice balance to the dish. What better goes with Maui Maui tacos than a mojito… Yum! My friends had burgers, pizza and chicken wrap they all said they were very yummy! Unfortunately we were to stuffed to even look at the dessert menu but I will save room next time! The service was great, neat location and concept with a relaxed atmosphere! Will for sure be returning lunch or dinner but I’m most excited to try their brunch!

I was here a couple weeks ago. We say outside which was nice but weird since the development’s swimming pool next to the patio and there were people swimming, splashing and getting out of the pool and going to the open air bar. That said I would ask to sit away from the pool entrance if you want to sit outside if possible. This place clearly caters to the residents of the building. It’s meant for waking to as there are not very many parking spots and no parking lot. It over looks the pool and volleyball court. Our service was good. The young man was very polite. The food was good but otherwise unmemorable. They have some interesting dishes but from the preparation of my meal they may be overreaching. One of my dinner partners did not like his burger at all. It was over cooked and under seasoned. I had the southwest(I think that’s the name) burger and it came with a lot of toppings and flavor. They have a decent selection of craft beer but the staff is not very knowledgable about what they are pouring. The cocktail list is nice but again the staff is lacking. Overall this restaurant seems like it’s going for a high end bar or gastropub. It needs better management. I didn’t even see one on the floor. If there had been managers more involved in their guests’ experience or staff’s training this could easily have 4 – 5 stars. That goes for front and back of house.

Before even entering The Goat, the surroundings seem as if one is in a far more urban area than Murfreesboro. It’s located in a new residential/commercial mixed use development near the hospital off Med Center Parkway. This feeling is compounded when coming through the door of the restaurant. With soaring ceilings, chic yet warm furnishings and a nice patio that overlooks a volleyball court, The Goat is the prettiest restaurant here, in my opinion. We had excellent, friendly service and were seated promptly — arriving a bit after 5:30pm on a Friday. The hostess said they typically get very busy around 7pm. We started with the Farmhouse Tots as an appetizer. Homemade tots always get my attention! These were covered in cheese, sriracha aioli and green onions and topped with a fried egg and pork belly. Between the five of us, the serving size was enough to each get a couple. I really enjoyed this dish, and my only complaint was the pork belly was a little overcooked and chewy. For my entrée, I really wanted the Devil on Goatback pizza, but just wasn’t in a pizza mood. So, I opted for the So-Cal Club with more tots.(Can you ever have too many tots?) The club was served on a croissant and included avocado, bacon and pesto aioli, along with spinach and tomato. It was good, not great. The chicken was a little tough, and with a very soft bread that tears easily, my sandwich fell apart after a couple bites. However, the flavor of it was good. I will definitely return to The Goat, and next time I’ll get the pizza! I’m so thrilled with the number of locally owned or small boutique chains that have opened in the area recently, and The Goat is one I’ll frequent often.
