The Meat Shop

The Mundelein Meat shop has fabulous filet mignon steaks, beef tenderloins and the cajun flavored, stuffed pork cups are incredibly good!!! The owner and employees are so nice and very helpful. They also have great chocolates for a treat.

Seriously Melissa T? You call that a review because egg salad recipe wasn’t to your liking?

Is there a negative 1 star available? This was the first time I have ever been here and it will certainly be the last. Their sign boasts sandwiches so I went in today. Sadly, the $ 6 egg salad sandwich had disgusting pimentos and crunchy unidentifiable things in it. I honestly couldn’t get three bites into it before I started gagging. Went back in and they did not offer to refund my money or offer to make me a new sandwich for the dissatisfaction, but said that I could get a new sandwich for half price.
ARE YOU SERIOUS???
I brought back the tiny sandwich — clearly showing that I had taken no more than three small forkfuls — (couldn’t pick it up — too messy) — and yet I leave with a worse taste in my mouth about a local business than the egg salad had left.
As I sit here typing out this review with TicTacs in my mouth for lunch instead, I must warn you all that if you go there make darn sure you like what you ordered because they do not put their customers first and you will be out of hard-​earned money like myself.
Very bad business practices = bad word of mouth.
I honestly would have been better off at the high school cafeteria today and would have had an extra $ 2 in my pocket to boot.

Great selection of meats and great breads/​buns sold at the store. NO RED SLIME worries when you shop here, as I confirmed the last time I went there. They offer lots of friendly advice of how to prepare your foods, AND have a great BBQ sauce.

The comment from Alex in Vernon Hills is for the wrong store. This store has the best meat and candy! We go here all the time.
