I was completely satisfied with Dr. Lipton’s experience and immediate recommendation of conducing a biopsy.
Dr Shira Lipton made an excellent diagnosis and was very caring and professional.
She has helped me to understand my biopsy and is an expert in providing all the information to me as a patient.
I have good reasons to give her the highest possible rating and you would be lucky to get help from this world class physician.

beware of any hospital affiliated with sutter health, they always have a tendency of charging you after 4 to 6months after the procedure is done. Their excuse is that you insurance did not pay all the charges or you have deductible that need to be paid.
No industry or business will the the service or work for you without telling how much is the cost except health industry. They already know on each code or procedures they do is in their contract with the Health insurance provider but they want more.
make sure you ask them to give you the code for the procedure and check with your insurance before getting it done. That will give the option of if you can afford it and get it done or just wait or go somewhere else where the Doctor and hospital will accept what the contract payment they have with your insurance without charging you more.
Their trick, is to do all the lab, test or procedure so that you can’t back out anymore and for sure they’ll sent you another bill 4 to 6 mths after it’s done and will sent your bills to collection agencies if you don’t pay.
(THE QUESTION IS, WHY CAN’T THEY TELL YOU HOW MUCH IT WILL COST YOU PRIOR TO DOING ALL THE TEST, LAB OR PROCEDURE, SO YOU HAVE A CHOICE TO FIND OTHER HOSPITAL OR DOCTORTHAT WILL ACCEPT WHATEVER THE INSURANCE WILL PAY THEM, OR GET IT DONE LATER (WHEN YOU CAN AFFORD IT).

We were unhappy with Dr. Lipton’s inexperience and immediate recommendation of conducing a biopsy. Upon conferring secondary and tertiary opinions and with other physicians in the family it turns out her diagnosis was quite sophomoric. Also her steadfast refusal to provide a friendly referral (not an insurance referral) to another physician was quite alarming, despite a simply request made 2 – 3 times. With this aggressive stature in driving more procedures and visits, I suspect some of the physicians are motivated by financial performance rather than patient outcomes and we are completely circumspect to visit any physician associated with the Palo Alto Medical Foundation facility or any of its offices going forward.

Horrible unreliable dump. Waited 7 weeks for an appointment and scheduled time off work and they call me the day of to say it’s canceled and I need to wait 3 more weeks. Furthermore ENT /​Otolaryngology staff are rude and incompetent.
Only Lab staff is friendly and fast.
