I’ll keep this review relatively short. I don’t know if I got the wrong sandwich, however, I just don’t see a good value at this place. I got a sandwich which I can’t quite remember the name, all I remember is that it was called express(and I can’t remember the rest). The sandwich came out super fast, which is great. On the flip side I felt that I spend $ 8 but on a sandwich the size of a bagel. I will try a different sandwich next time, perhaps it was just a bad choice.

Ok for a sandwich shop. They have gluten free bread but it’s Udis. I’m getting a little tired of sandwich places only carrying Udis when there’s such better bread, especially out here in the Bay Area. So overall it’s a good sandwich place but not great.

Worst service ever. Very rude staff, especially that grumpy looking old girl taking order and making sandwiches at the same time. I ordered a cup of soup to go, but did not get a spoon. I asked her a spoon, then she suddenly took out my sandwich and unwrap it then wrap it again without a word. What on earth was she doing? I am sure she did not even wear sanity gloves while doing that nasty thing to my sandwich.

Erik’s is another sandwich place I so desperately wanted to try… then was disappointed by. As with the others, I’ll give them another go and order a different sandwich. I know these sandwich spots exist for a reason(or really want to believe*), so I blame myself on Round #1. I got the Durango Chicken without the special sauce(and it came with the special sauce…), and it was not good. I didn’t find out about the sauce until we got to work and tried to wipe it off, but it didn’t really help. Something just didn’t taste right about the whole thing. Like I said, will be back, will definitely get something different and check that there is zero sauce in my sammich. The two spots which haven’t disappointed me are Driftwood Deli & Simply Sandwiches.

Return visit. Just as good. Great place very nicely managed. Loved the tomato Basel soup. Also the grilled sandwiches were very fresh.

CATERING Review: We have a small office in E Palo Alto. I easliy called my order in the day before at 5PM! they happily took it, emailed me a confirmation. The owner delivered my catering, introduced herself, set up and made sure everything was taken care of. I love the fact that the location owner stepped in, when I’m assuming they had a lot of catering orders, to deliver makes me love this location! Erik’s sandwiches are always top quality, and I will be using this reliable location again. Thank you Nitu for everything!

This place is close to my work, and I come here every once in a great while. I like the food overall. I really enjoy having sprouts in my sandwich, that is hard to find nowadays for some reason. I like their bread choices, and overall their sandwiches taste really fresh. The Thai coconut chicken curry soup is super delicious. And I have tried several different sandwiches that I liked. Nice place for a change of pace lunch.

Food was good, service by Jeff was friendly but they need more help it gets really busy and it would be nice to get lunch here more often if they didn’t have sooooo many people.

I always make a stop here when I come up to the Bay Area. I’ve had the Thai Chicken Wrap(it’s my favorite but a bit on the spicy side) and the chili. Nothing but good things to say. The food has been delicious and the service has been great.

Fantastic customer service! The food looks and tastes fresh! I tried the Del Monte Special and the tomato bisque soup. The soup arrived nice and hot and the sandwich was amazingly good! Keep up the great quality of service and food! Look forward to coming back and eating here the next time I am in Mountain View!

Came here after Sunday service for lunch– I got the Sea Dog– a tuna salad sandwich with fresh avocado. A bit messy to eat, but overall was decent. Most things on the menu are $ 5 – 10. Good for a quick lunch :)

If i could rate this place with negative stars. I would. Terrible! We ordered at 2:10. I then went to Starbucks at the end of the street to get a peppermint mocha because its cold outside and theres no room in the store to sit. There at Starbucks this B**** took my mocha and made me wait more. Then 10 minutes after i went back to Erik’s, she went in and ordered(keep in mind I’ve been waiting for my food for 25 minutes already) at minute 30 i went in to ask what was taking sooo long. They said they«had an emergency order that they forgot to do earlier» they said that it should be ready in 10 minutes… It wasnt… I later went in and the B**** that stole my mocha and ordered 25 minutes after me was getting her and her bf’s food. Wtf! Complete BS! So over Erik’s deli! Would not recommend! They also didnt even toast my panini! Like B**** learn to cook. They had no idea what even went in the sandwhich. THEREMANAGERWASNTTHERETOO!

Over 45 minutes to get 3 sandwiches because of some big order, yet they made sandwiches for a couple who came 20 min after us! Panini grill not working! Sandwiches finally taste good and the people working were polite, but come on!

Went in for lunch today around 1pm. Service was fairly quick. I got half a chicken pesto sandwich and the house salad. My salad came out first and I thought they had the wrong order. It’s huge! I was worried about portion size with the half and half option but it was perfect. The house salad came with greens, ½ a tomato, croutons, sprouts, and a small scoop of pasta salad. Tasty! The sandwich was amazing. Gooey cheese and toasted bread with pesto and chicken. What’s not to love? I felt a little less guilty since I also had a huge salad. Interior is clean and the water from the soda fountain didn’t taste gross. Apparently after you finish eating you just leave the plates on the table(which I found out after scrambling to try and find out where I could bust my own plates).

EVERYTIME I visit the in laws I need to make a pit stop here to pick up a sandwich! i love sprouts and no other sandwich chain seems to carry them??? The quality is on point and the customer service is great. The last time I went in the manager recognized me and got started on my usual before I even ordered. I would recommend stopping here when you get the chance. You will not be disappointed. My recommendation would be to try the Pot Belly. Can’t go wrong with the turkey and pastrami combination.

I really don’t like this place. I’ve been here on 4 different occasions spread out over the past year. Each time I’m left disappointed with a lackluster sandwich. The filling always sops through whatever type of bread I get and the flavor is ho hum at best. Not to mention that the majority of the meat offered is turkey. Yes there are a few options for tuna and roast beef but most of their sandwiches are turkey. I have no idea why this bothers me so much but it does. I really wish they made better food because its extremely convenient to where I work. 2 stars for pleasant service.

Great Sandwich, Awesome Service — Erik’s Deli I’ve never written a Unilocal review but felt compelled to this time because of the awesome experience I had at this restaurant. The Tuscan Turkey Panini was great. Honestly, one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. HIGHLYRECOMMEND

So it changed management, and they asked me to come back and give it a try. Still not good. Keep trying, I know I won’t.

I got here a little after 12PM today. There were four customers ahead of me and one cashier. This cashier looked zoned out — he kept asking the same questions of the customers ahead of me. The lady in front of me looked annoyed after being asked again and again if she wanted sprouts in her sandwich(she had stated in the beginning that she didn’t want any). Most of the tables were filled, and the four customers before me all got their orders to go. The beverages were in a refrigerated case to the left of the cash registers, and the chips were on a rack right below the cash registers. When it was my turn, I stated upfront that my order was for«here», and showed the cashier the bottled water and bag of chips that I was getting. I ordered a Rio Grande Club(turkey, bacon, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, pepper jack cheese) on gluten-free bread. It states on the wall menu that you can get any sandwich on gluten-free bread without an extra charge. The cashier asked me twice, after I had stated that my order was for«here», if my order was for«here» or «to go». My order came to $ 11.39($ 7.39 Rio Grande Club, $ 1.39 bag of chips, and $ 1.69 Arrowhead bottled water, plus tax). I gave the cashier a twenty, and he looked confused as he counted my change out three times before handing it to me. About five minutes after I sat down, my sandwich arrived — the employee that brought orders over to the tables snatched the numbered signs and dropped each diner’s plate in front of him/her loudly. The gluten-free bread used for my sandwich reminded me of Udi’s GF bread: My sandwich was sliced in half, with each half held together by a toothpick; an intact bread slice would have measured about 4″ x 5″. There were three thin slices of turkey, a thin slice of pepper jack cheese, two pieces of crispy bacon, the thinnest layer of guacamole that I’ve ever seen, wilted lettuce mixed with crunchy lettuce, and two slices of tomatoes that were so thin that they were almost invisible. On the surface, the presentation was good: sandwiches were served on brightly colored plates with a pickle on the side and an orange slice. I thought it was ridiculous that they had the crunchy lettuce on top of and hiding the wilted lettuce, like a customer wouldn’t notice. Two customers at the table next to mine were talking about how small the sandwiches were. They weren’t kidding. I was so hungry that afterwards, I had to go to the Mountain View Costco, which luckily was close by, and get a food court hot dog(without the bun). I kid you not. A lot of cars kept driving at high speeds towards pedestrians that were in the crosswalk, with many of the drivers slamming on their brakes at the last minute. I parked by Best Buy, away from all the action. In the same shopping center as Best Buy, Chipotle, and REI. The cross street is Independence Ave.

I used to come to Erik’s a lot when I was a kid, but I haven’t come for several years because I’d felt that the prices were a bit steep for the size of the sandwich. I decided to splurge a bit and treat myself to my favorite chicken pesto sandwich today. Let me just say… it may have come out to about $ 8, but I actually think it’s well worth the money, now! This sandwich comes on a toasted onion roll and is chock full of delicious chicken, pesto sauce, melted pepper jack cheese, fresh tomatoes, red onions, avocado, and my all-time favorite: SPROUTS! Maybe I just haven’t had this sandwich for many years, now, but it’s even better than I remember it! Also, it was quite filling and I could only eat half of it before getting full. I got the sandwich to go, but if you eat in the restaurant and order a drink, they give you mason jars out of which to drink. You may think that’s hipster of them, but I think they actually try to do an old west theme, here. My faith in(the prices at) Erik’s has been restored and I will surely return!

Ordered a pastrami on rye heated up and was sorely disappointed. The guy just tossed the whole thing wrapped up into a microwave. When I opened it up, the bread stuck to the wrapper, was soggy, falling apart, the dressing/cheese was getting everywhere and the center of the meat was still cold. I personally hate getting my hands messy so this was a huge negative for me. I just don’t understand how you can mess up such a simple sandwich and take so long to make it when there’s hardly anyone around. Also this nagging worker lady kept bothering me to sit down while waiting for my togo food. If I don’t sit down after your first suggestion, don’t suggest it two more times, you’re annoying me lady! Plaza deli café makes a vastly superior version without the mess. I will definitely choose chipotle or l&l’s if I have to eat in that plaza again.

The most lonely and depressing Erik’s Delicafé I’ve been to. The décor is definitely not as cozy or rustic as other locations, and the strong scent of cleaning chemicals ruins the experience of eating in. All standard Erik’s fare is available, but friendly service is nowhere to be found. They were out of gluten-free bread on a past early evening visit. On my last visit, I was underwhelmed by my Pilgrim’s Progress sandwich. They didn’t skimp on the secret goo, but there could have been more meat. I’d rather drive a bit farther for better service.

Not a bad place to grab a bite in this shopping plaza. «Sandwiches with character» is the slogan, though I would argue there’s nothing unique about these sandwiches except their names. The $ 7 Pilgrim’s Progress is an enjoyable sandwich with turkey, avocado, onions, tomatoes, sprouts, mayo and mustard on 9-grain wheat bread. It also comes with a pickle and a slice of orange. The ingredients tasted fresh, I was glad to see several layers of meat in the sandwich, though as a whole it was only moderately filling. For the price, the portion size was fair. But I don’t know what this sandwich has to do with the John Bunyan novel by the same name. I certainly don’t remember there being turkeys in that story. Perhaps there’s something about this sandwich related to persistence through adversity or treasures in heaven that I’m missing.
