Had the worst customer service by an associate named Iqra. I was buying boots that were $ 9, and she told me that they were placed there by mistake and not on sale for that price. I told her the entire display was of the same brand of shoes, and there is a big sign stating the price. She told me that I was wrong so I bought my other items. As I was walking out, I looked at the sign and the sign clearly stated the brand I wanted to but wereally $ 9! All she had to do was move five steps to the right and would have seen the sign. I would recommend that this location put Iqra through training again. She needs to learn how to smile, speak politely, and listen to the customer. She had no other customers in the store and could have taken the time deliver some level of customer service. Also, don’t argue when you don’t know what you’re talking about! Walk the store before going to the register so you are aware of the sales. And if the display is in front of your face, stop arguing and look at the sign.

So, let’s be real walking into ANY dept. store I’m not expecting to be waited on hands and feet however, Iqra at this place was the worst«customer service» associate I’ve ever had the the bad luck of encountering. I blame her poor upbringing at home due to her lack of work ethic and the management staff at this location for putting an I’ll trained, rude, attitude driven person on the selling floor… Shame on the HR team at Bön Ton Corp. for allowing untrained people to work at these stores. Teach your associates how to #1– SMILE, #2– Drop the know it all attitude(which she wasn’t even right about), #3– yes, customers are often incorrect however, the responsibility of an associate is to kindly walk over and look at the item, rack, fixture in question. In this case she wouldn’t have to go to far, just look over and notice the pricing on the fixture and realize she’s an idiot and doesn’t know how to read. The first thing an associate should do on onset of shift is to walk the floor to see price changes, deals, and promos to save themselves embarrassment of looking like a fool infront of the bread and butter(your customer)!!! Highly disappointed at this store. This one person ruined what was an otherwise nice experience. Sorry, won’t be coming back here anymore! Now, I know why Carson’s as a company keeps closing stores. Maybe, invest in brighter associates as they are the face of your company!

The Carson’s Clearance Center is an awesome replacement for the Loehmann’s that use to be there as they sold mainly woman’s clothes and I don’t wear woman’s clothes anymore. I don’t agree with the assessment that anything that ends up in a clearance center is clearance quality, obsolete or disgusting looking. I have bought some very nice PGA polo style shirts for $ 6, Chaps Polo style shirts for $ 4, and other brand name clothes. Like any clearance items there are limitations. And like all these stores you need to sort through racks and find items that appeal to your personal tastes. I was there tonight and half the store was empty. They are already phasing out the summer clothes and preparing for the fall line of clothes. One of the employees told me they are expecting 13,000 items in the next week or 2. I’m amazed at the number of clothes that they are constantly rotating in and out.

When any merchandize ends up in a clearance center, it’s really the clearance-quality. In other words, most items you find in a clearance center is obsolete, outdated, unstylish, and even disgusting-looking. This clearance center did have some«unexplainable» women’s shoes and apparel; however, their men’s department was just«out-of-the-geographic-region. There were many«southern-boy» looking polo shirts and shorts. They did have the sandals available if you choose to complete the entire look. Their price-points are so much better than what they have at the Sears Clearance Center in River Grove(Belmont/Cumberland). For the most part, items in the women’s ready-to-wear and active wear departments were under $ 10. They organized each department on the rack-to-rack basis, with clear marketing indicating how much the entire section was. You can’t always find your size, yet you have to understand that this is a clearance center. What more can you ask for? If you’re willing to pay a little bit more for much more stylish clothing and accessories, head to the T.J. Maxx next door. Joan Rivers will thank you(from Heaven).

3 solid stars for this new clothing store. First off, I’d say they found a great location for their clearance center. Right by Homegoods and TJMaxx, my friends and I can spend hours in the mall. But, I digress. They have great deals — I’ve seen dresses for $ 8, capris for $ 1, and flip flops for $ 5. However, this place is really, really hit or miss. I feel like sometimes I’ll come and there will be a ton of great stuff(maybe just after they receive a shipment?), and other times I can’t find a thing and the store is half empty. Literally, clothing racks are completely void of clothing. They have a lot of smaller sizes(maybe it’s leftover from the main store), so if you’re a size 0 – 6, there will be a lot for you. There is a small housewares section in the back, but I feel like it’s just not marked down that much for a clearance center. There don’t seem to be as many promotions on the home stuff like comforters, pots and pans, sheets, frames, and even some home décor items(they already have Christmas stuff!). One last thing, be prepared to dig around when you go. I’ve spent a good hour just combing through the racks. A lot of items are out of place and mixed in with the wrong sizes. It doesn’t bother me at all(perhaps it helps when I find something to make it feel more like an accomplishment), but I could see where some would be put off by it. Hopefully, as the store is open for longer the delivery and merchandise offered will be more stable. I really do like this place, and will continue to go.
