Great customer service, great food. They only accept cash so make sure you go to the bank ! I got a chocolate milk & steak huarache :) for the huarache you can ask them to add a nopal but in this occasion I forgot, would reccomend.

The food is good, I wish the huarache had the beans mixed into the masa. The green salsa is excellent. The tamales oaxaqueños were a little over cooked — I like them moist and with extra sauce. Service is good. it’s a very small place so be ready to wait for a seat. We’ll most likely be back.

This place has the best tamales oaxaqueños. My sisters and I love their tamales. We also order quesadillas which are my personal favorite, either tinga or chicharron. Their tortas are good too and really big. The tacos de canasta are a must try too. Definitely would recommend this place. I even got my boyfriend hooked into it.

The tamales were delicious. Very authentic. I had the chicken green sauce one. Not too spicy and it had enough chicken. Very tasty. The staff were very courteous and attended us well. Definetly a place to being ther family or order to take home.

After reading good reviews on this place I was sadly dissapointed. I stopped and got a dozen tamales, some pork, chicken, queso, and pina… my husband and I were both dissapointed. The masa was still under cooked and they were not very tasty. Total waste of 18 bucks… still searching for good tamales.

Phenomenal!!! Such authenticity, great flavor and spice! We ordered tamales, tacos and enchiladas! Unbelievable! Every bite was delicious! Oh and the horchata… Yum!!! The place is tiny, so try to go before the lunch rush, but definitely a must-try!

If you like to eat spicy then you will love their tamales. I don’t eat too much spicy food so it was a little too hot for me to enjoy. I had a quesadilla which was delicious. They have a variety of Aguas frescas and the serving size is pretty big too. The orchata water is made with actual rice(not from powder) prices are pretty cheap.

I felt like I was in Mexico. Menudo served in a classic Mexican style bowl with lots of pieces of menudo to fill you up. Fresh and thick tortillas that are by far the most amazing tortillas I’ve ever tasted. Spanish music playing in the background to seal the feeling of being in Mexico D.F. Saving this place on my maps!

After reading the reviews here and as a new resident to the neighborhood I was excited to have found a place with home made tamales but all that excitement was quickly killed by the presentation, the taste and the«cold» tamales, I ordered a chile rojo, chile verde and a oaxaqueño which all of them were clearly heat up in a microwave, who likes dry meat and dry salsa fillings in their tamales!!! This place should take the«Tamales» out of their business name and just call it DF which will be perfect to the dining atmosphere with dirty floors and flies all over you food and table! Stay away unless you are looking to get food poisoning seriously.

My review its only base on the place, we did not stayed, food looks good on the menu, but no AC it was hot and very small, they leave the door open and even though they have an A there was flies everywhere.

The tamales here are excellent, I tried the chicken, the pork and the cheese n jalapeño. All three were very flavorful, the pork and chicken were spicy but bomb. I will defiantly be ordering tamales for Christmas from this place. The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because everything is in Spanish and I want to try other things but I can’t read the menu. But hands down some of the best tamales I’ve ever tasted.

I just ate a tamal and they are excellent. Moist, slightly spicy, flavor in the meat and in the masa, meat is not stringy. Ambience is very friendly and helpful. The place is small so don’t bring the extended family. Cash only. All your Chilango favorites are there: quesadilla de flor de calabazas, de hongos, de huitlacoche! Bring your Spanish speaking friend to help you order or you will be pointing at things and holding up fingers like a chimp at a deli.

They have good pork tamales. They may need a little bit more meat though. The chicken tamales are spiiiicy! I wasn’t a fan of the carne asada soft taco.

Absolutely amazing!!! Drove 2 hours to get to this place based on the reviews and the fantastically nice customer service! Ceasar was my. contact and he was so nice and even brought me a special hot chocolate while I waited for my order. I ordered somewhere around 60 tamales for family and friends and they were able to get them ready to go within a few minutes. Perfectly packed in a tin with labels. All the people there thanked me numerous times for coming in and definitely won everyone’s vote for best tamales they have ever had! Ever!!! This little store front is definitely a diamond in the rough!

This place takes me back to my childhood in Mexico. I almost cried like a little girl when I read their menu: quesadillas de flor de calabaza !(squash flower quesadilla) such a delicacy. Tamales that are actually as good as home made ?! tacos de cecina, tacos de frijol !(My eyes are shrink-wrapped in tears at this point ;) Aguas frescas made from scratch ?! None of that powdered crap ?! Wtf !? Have I been«roofied«and deported back to Mexico ?! I’m in nostalgic food heaven and I don’t want to leave and to top it off these guys have the nerve to provide great service ?! At this point I decide to leave before I hug these nice people and make my inevitable future visits excruciatingly awkward. Do yourself a favor by eating some authentic Mexican food here. Cash only, bring it !

So I am totally upset that I hadn’t stopped at this spot prior to yesterday! We have been sleepin’ on this place! We love the little ambiance of this Tamale shop, which serves up so DELISH food! Of course we had to try a couple different tamales but we also tried a Chicken Sope and a crispy quesadilla… everything was super tasty!!! They have aguas frescas and milkshakes as well. We tried the Choco-Milk which is a MUST! It is chocolat cinnamon creamy goodness and was so dang good I am glad I didn’t know about this place a few years ago when I was pregnant because I would have wanted that shake every single day! Heck, I still want that shake everyday! Haha!!! This is seriously a little gem inside this tiny unsuspecting strip mall! They close early during the week, 2pm but they are open later Fri, Sat and till 5 on Sunday! We can’t wait to go back!

Before this tamale shop opened more than two years ago, I had a habit of buying dozens of tamales from random strangers who appeared out of the blue at store parking lots and/or street corners. What I like best about DF Tamales is that they have an «A» letter grade in front of the restaurant, so I have no need to purchase from unlicensed vendors anymore. With that said, I enjoy tamales 3 – 4 times per year. They are FATTY but good! My husband does not like them very much, otherwise I would probably make them from scratch myself. I’ve tried nearly all the varieties they have, including the exotic Oaxaca chicken tamale that comes mixed with mole and wrapped in a banana leaf. The cheese tamale with jalapeño is good. The chicken tamale is yummy. The pork tamale was sort of dry on the last visit. The sweet tamales(pineapple and strawberry) are A-OK. Most tamales are $ 1.49 each. The exotic Oaxaca tamale is the specialty at $ 2.49. They also have additional items on the menu: tacos, tortas, enchiladas, huaraches, sopes, gorditas, quesadillas, menudo, and barbacoa de borrego on weekends. Out of the four times I’ve been there, they gave me the wrong order once(I ended up with a quesadilla fried taco instead of the cheese tamale I wanted). But I ate it anyway. Their mistake turned out quite tasty! Horchata(sweet rice milk drink) is legit. Love this drink! Café de Olla(Mexican coffee w/cinnamon) is nice and strong! Tamarindo(aka agua fresca) — was really refreshing. This is located right next to Miss Pad Thai restaurant in a very small plaza, about one block from the intersection of Frederick and Alessandro. Cash only!
