Pizza Man Dan’s

We got a coupon rubber-​banded to our door for Pizza Man Dan’s & we’re new to the area so we decided to check it out one evening for dinner. Plenty of parking, large interior, tons of tv’s, really an entire wall of tv in the back area, that would be a good spot for a party or sports gathering.
There is one soda machine — it’s an unusual soda machine that has many combinations of every drink in the Coke catalog, but a person has to stand there figuring out which buttons to push to correspond to the choices to be made, which is fine — except that there’s only 1 machine, so I waited for the guy in front of me, then the the person behind me had to wait, minor detail when it’s not busy like it was when we visited but I could see it being problematic when it is busy.
We ordered a regular pepperoni pizza, it was okay — the buttery/​garlicy crust was the best part — I imagine that’s what the breadsticks are made of? Light & tasty crust. Sauce was too thick & bland for me, like a straight scoop out of a tomato paste can without seasoning, but luckily it was pretty much only in the middle, leaving those tasty crusts undisturbed, the sauce didn’t bother anyone else I was with. We also ordered potato wedges — I was excited about these, thinking they would be like the ones at Shakey’s or KFC or even 7-​Eleven, but no, they were not. They were literally just potato wedges. Steaming hot, but that’s it. They may have been coated in panko or flour but not seasoned with anything else, so basically a plain skin-​on baked potato with nothing on it — I did ask for ranch to dip them in, that made them a bit better but costs an extra 50 cents for the little cup. We had leftovers but didn’t bring anything home. I can see that they’re making an effort, the place is nice and the staff is friendly, but with so many competing choices for pizza in the area, this one needs a bit more work on their recipes.

Very disappointed!!! Looking for a place to go at 5pm with my family for dinner. Looked very familyish but was mistaken. There were tv’s everywhere which usually isn’t a problem but these had scary fight scenes and graphic sex scenes. Please be forewarned and don’t bring your little ones here.

This place’s pepperoni pan pizza reminds me of a topper’s pizza. Great price for the quality of pizza.

Let me just start with I never leave a bad review of a place except they get the exception today. When this location was ME n EDS I went extremely often. The lunch special was always a great deal, the staff was friendly and the pizza was fantastic.
Sad to say all those things went far down hill. I have given this place 2 attempts and have been disappointed every time. The staff was not friendly, they raised prices (which I can understand) but to charge me for take out was something I hadn’t seen ever from a pizza place. I did not find the new staff to be helpful or friendly but rather just stare at me with this smirk. Toppers it will be!

Ordered two custom pizzas online. One had different toppings on each half, which is something pizza places tend to goof up about 60% of the time. Both pizzas were exactly as I ordered, and DELICIOUS. I ordered at 6:00 and put a comment in requesting to pick up the pizzas at 7:45; when I arrived, they were just pulling them out of the oven fresh and hot.
Will definitely go here again, maybe even for eat-​in. Place was clean and inviting, employees were friendly, and the salad bar looked tasty, too.

I love this place. Possibly my new fav in MP. Best salad bar for sure. Buttermilk ranch! The homemade kind. Pizza is REALLY good. Better than Toppers. Can’t believe I just said that. A few video games. The cool new style soda dispenser with a zillion choices. (Don’t think I’ll ever try orange Coke though.) I like the ambience the best. Big tall booths for privacy. Fire place and décor make it warm even though it’s a big space. Cool music plays in the background while two sweet ladies make yummy pies. Only two taps — but it’s Enegren. Love Lagertha. They do have TVs. But not too many. I watch football here often. Family oriented.

Ughhh. Dont go by the photos on this site, the Camarillo store is awful! Skimpy toppings despite purchasing extra, over cooked or under cooked, who’s in their kitchen? We need another bad pizza place like we need another bbq restaurant

I love their pizza. The chicken pesto pizza is my favorite and their meatball sub is amazing. If you love garlic, you have to try their garlic bread.
My husband and I were looking for a good pizza place. We had tried a couple of others in the area and they were in but nothing special. I think we got something in the mail that they said they were open so we decided to do delivery. I am glad we did. We have tried the majority of the items on their menu and everything has been good.
Delivery is always fast and easy.
I recommend this place to everyone.

In my opinion– I would have to say this is the best pizza restaurant in Moorpark. Delivery was fast and accurate, crust is the perfect thickness, and they defiantly don’t short you on toppings. The gluten free crust was also very good. We will be ordering from them again soon. (Update– based on next day upset stomach… a day later we are not sure if the gluten free pizza is truly gluten free…)

I ordered two calzones for my sister and I and was very excited to try them for the first time. However, it took 50 minutes (when we were told 20−30min.) to get them and After opening them up we found them to be very small portions and one of the calzones was missing an extra order of Canadian bacon, which we had paid extra for as well. Oh well worth one try

This pizza is so good! Try the Chipotle pizza it’s the best and their chicken is super tender. They always have good coupons for free sides too :)

I literally walked out yesterday. I have picked up pizza there before and I liked it. However last night was horrible customer service. I came in with my wife and son about 6pm. Two employees were in sight making pizzas and said they’d be with us in a minute. I stood at the counter and watched as they made pizzas. A few minutes later a lady came in and walked up to the counter. One the workers immediately came to her and asked how they could help her. She was a pick up, and after they finished the transaction the worker turned away from me without saying anything to me. As she walked away I said, «Excuse me, but I am going to walk out now. I was here and you took that lady without even acknowledging me.» I honestly felt as if I was a burden and nuisance in their eyes. I do not think I will be back.

Not sure why it took me 8 months for me to try this place being I live a block away. Went here with a few friends and I was not disappointed. Pizza was crispy, load of topping, and the taste was fantastic. Definitely a regular for another few months before moving out.

Tried this place out after finding out Me-​n-​Eds closed up shop.
Pizza was actually pretty good and was delivered HOT! Nothing like getting cold pizza. Prices were good.

The toppings were great and plenty. The crust was good. But I have to agree with the other Unilocaler that the sauce was kinda sweet. Spice it up and give it flavor and take out the sugar or whatever is in there. Add some spices. Garlic. Fennel. Oregano. Basil. Pepper flakes to simmer. Whatever you need to do and it will be be better. It’s good but ya the sauce could be a lot better. That would give it a five star. Way Better than Jax. IMHO.

Just had a thin crust pizza delivered, and it was hot. It is very good with generous toppings. Wish the sauce had a bit more flavor, it’s kinda sweet, but overall really tasty. Looking forward to trying other items on their menu.
We love Toppers. This is a close second.

We came in for lunch today and were very happy with our experience. It’s huge and looks great for large groups or parties. The staff was nice and the pizza was very good. Reminded us a little bit of Disneylands pizza port pizza only fresher and better. Price was reasonable and the old video games they had were tons of fun! Kid friendly, adult friendly and good food! We also noticed they have beers on tap

I have never eaten at a ‘Pizza man Dans’ and boy was I missing out!!! I found out a little trivia about this fabulous pizzas parlor. Originally, Dan was partnered up to create Rustys pizza. When the two split up, Dan went on to create Pizza Man Dans and the other went on to create the very popular Toppers Pizza. I love Toppers, but Pizza Man Dans blows it out of the water, plus it’s closer to me! Bonus! Glad I tried it out.
