Really nice greeter and waitress… crowd is typically diverse Monument, which is classic small town America at its best. Reasonably well stocked bar… but the atmosphere cries out for burgers and Bud. Tried a Moscow Mule… okay but not spectacular, maybe a mix. Needs more micro brews… its Colorado man! The onion rings are what you want and never get… the burgers are great… the people who work here are simply lovely.

We have been regularly to both the Monument and Colorado Springs location. The food is decent and reasonably priced since they do have bands on weekends. Bring a native Jersey boy I do agree that it sometimes is more of a marketing gimmick call one East Coast. I would say this place is close but still a few deviations from the real deal in East Coast atmosphere and especially pizza. If they fix the noise issue so you can hold a conversation and have a bit more of the NY/NJ flair I would go up a star.

Pleasing experience both times we’ve been in. The sriracha mac and cheese is wonderful, as is the artichoke dip. They don’t have the biggest selection of beers but you’ll probably be able to find something to your liking. Friendly staff, alright atmosphere. We aren’t into sports but still enjoy ourselves.

At first glance this would appear to be a sports bar with a bazillion tv’s all playing various games. It generally leans more toward being a restaurant with a really big bar during typical dinner hours. It’s very family friendly and I take my kids here for pizza often. The food is awesome and a step up from typical bar fare. Make sure you check out the specials! The clientele tends to skew toward the 30+ side of the spectrum. The staff is really awesome and is the one of the biggest reasons I love to visit. They also finally have darts now! Great beer selection too and happy hour prices(4 – 7) are really good. Definitely check it out.

Whatever the soup of the day is. GET it! The specials are very special and the staff is amazing: attentive, friendly and funny. Love that they always have a great rotation of local beers and micros from other states. They love food and beer just like you do so try this place over and over. I guarantee it.

I came by here once to get a mess of takeout, and the second time to hang out and check the place out. Wednesday was packed solid but the crowd seemed a bit subdued, and focused on their glasses or on the trivia game. The selection of ales is great and includes some imports you don’t see every day, and the food is very solid, above average for a bar. Kevin the bartender was very much on his game and fast as hell keeping the libations and food coming. All in all I don’t know how picky I’d have been considering the open-late options in Monument are thin on the ground, but Back East is a solid spot on top of that.

Colorado Springs is a franchised, barren wasteland for foodies and as a New Yorker in exile, I suffer greatly. Due to continual disappointments my expectations are generally very low. I’m also wary of restaurant names that include«East Coast» or «New York» in them. It usually turns out to be a marketing gimmick and the owners are from Tucson. Having said that, beyond arguably the best name ever, Back East Bar & Grill nails it. Owners are actually from back east which reflects in their food. The wings were the closest thing to home I’ve had out here and the burger, well, fughetaboutit. Seriously, the Wicked Spicy medium-rare was ridiculous. While we’re on topic, allow me to digress a moment. I hate when you order a burger and it comes to your table as an overcooked, dry, flavorless hockey puck. My belt tastes better. We walked into Cheddars the other night and read the menu above their burger section, «all burgers cooked medium-well to well. We laughed and walked out. Any chef worth their salt will plainly tell you the only way to eat meat is medium-rare. OK, I feel better getting that off my chest. Brant was my server and did an excellent job, I wanted for nothing. Only downside was that it was loud, really loud, like pretty much bothersome loud. Of course this is a good sign because customers are showing up on a Friday night, but it really did make it uncomfortable. I actually wished I had ear plugs. 4 stars great service, great food.

Surprisingly good. The chili was so good as was the salad. Fast and friendly service. Looks like any sports bar, but the food is better than most places that look this way. A little sprucing up could improve their image greatly. All in all, this was a great little find on our road trip.

Creepy & loud! The food was decent, but we didn’t enjoy our dinner. The music was so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves think. Felt very uncomfortable the way the waiter kept touching my back when he checked on us, we definitely won’t ever be back.

Been there twice. Atmosphere is good but the food was terrible. On the second visit the food made me sick through the night.

Food is SOGOOD. Great place to meet friends and listen to live music! I love the Tropical Long Island(not a beer drinker). Mixes drunk menu is good. They have a supplemental menu for daily specials.

Checked this place out because of the reviews and how close it was to my house. I was not disappointed. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is excellent. Tons of TVs to watch the games and sometimes there is live music too. I’ve been back 3 times in the last month. I highly recommend the fish and chips. Absolutely delicious.

Kudos to the management team. The only negatives posted about this great place were about the noise. Came in for lunch today and it was much quieter. Beautiful, noise absorbing panels on the walls and ceilings. No excuses anymore. This is the place to be in Monument for burgers, pizza, beer and good times!

It’s about time they came to Monument! One of my favorite places, great food! Pizza is good, burgers, wings, and sandwiches all great! Yes, place can be loud, they need to put up some sound catching devices. When busy very loud.

This place is my favorite local bar in Colorado Springs. Well… the Briargate location is my favorite bar and this is the exact same as that location. The Monument location just opened and it’s already looking great. At least 15 TVs to watch the game and the best bar good in The Springs. I particularly enjoy The Beast Pizza. It’s a massive sheet of pizza that feeds at least 8 people. Get it «well done», a method that cooks longer and makes the crust crispier. The well done pepperoni beast is my favorite pizza in all of Colorado. I still haven’t found a great pizza place in Denver. Back East also has the best trivia in town. Wednesday nights at 6:30pm at the Briargate location, and from talking to Mike, the owner, the same great trivia is about to come to the monument location!
