Cute food and yummy too. Love their menu and customer service. Totally recommend if you love boba, deserts, and open to multiple ways of drinking coffee.

This place was pretty good. Don’t get me wrong the waffle was yummy but i don’t know if I’d crave it enough to come back honestly. My sea salt Carmel latte was so so I wouldn’t buy it again. My friends ordered they teriyaki chicken panini and they weren’t impressed the teriyaki sauce tasted too sweet and salty.

This is next door to HALF&HALF and it’s a WHOLE :) LOTEASIER! They have table seating and take your order, and it comes out fast. The prices are cheap, on avg $ 5 or so per drink. It’s spacious and friendly. I’d recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I love coming here! Once you walk in, usually greeted warmly by someone and tended to fairly quickly. We love the Wonton Soup. Their lattes are adorably decorated from Bay max to even Totoro. Family clean and nice vibes there. Great for studying or to have a something to satisfy cravings

my new go to place for boba and desserts! I love their milk tea, mochi waffle and their macaron ice cream sandwich which is huge! the service is always good and they have plenty of seating that I’ve never had to wait too long for a table. I know that half and half is just next door, but I really don’t like waiting that long for a boba. I like coming here because it has a lot more variety than just boba.

To be honest, macchiato is where I go when I don’t want honey boba from the place next door(Half&Half). However, macchiato itself has many great features: plenty of seating with outlets for plugging in phones or laptops, very kind and courteous waiters, and a variety of menu items including coffee, tea, macaroons, and sandwiches. If you’re vegetarian, you’re gonna have to stick to the drinks and macaroons. Unfortunately, no veggie or vegan sandwich options. I will definitely keep coming to macchiato to escape the chaos inside Half&Half and to enjoy delicious boba while sitting at a table.

A cute café that serves the famous potted plant milk tea drink! I think they recently expanded into half and half’s old space so now there’s plenty of seating– making it an ideal dessert place to chill with friends. I ordered a large of the potted plant milk green tea and it did not disappoint! The presentation was cool in a nice little parfait glass and a mini sprout atop the dirt(Oreo crumble). It does get a little messy if you order boba with it but it is still sweet and delicious. The guests around me ordered waffles and they looked good as well. The wifi here is pretty good, so it’s not a bad place to work. The crowd and music can get loud, so it’s not an ideal study café but more of a place to get cute dessert and chat.

Potted Plant Milk Tea… So 2015. Make sure you get 25% sugar. It will still taste like 100% sugar. Enjoy. XOXO. JY

Overall, the service was nice and kind. The store itself is cute looking and clean. It had nice décor and felt comfy. Very nice place to chill with friends or study. It almost had a hipster feel, almost. I got the planted plant milk tea. The drink wasn’t that bad. Tasted like a typical milk tea. It was really cute looking with the plant on top of the milk tea. One thing I felt quite disappointed is the waffle. I ordered strawberry and mango crispy waffle. Yes the waffle was crispy buut it was extremely dense. I felt like it was so dry and hard to consume. They had the smallest one scoop of ice cream I ever seen. It was not enough for four big waffles! To be honest, the ice cream help the waffle to be for softer and less dense so its more easier to consume. It was just not enough ice cream!

I came here around the end of December. I keep hearing everyone getting«potted plant milk tea» and finally decide to give it a try. I think what’s cool is that you can make any of the milk teas«potted plant», which is just whip cream and crushed oreos on top of your milk tea. I got a regular potted plant rose milk tea with half sweet! I forgot how much it was… less than $ 5 for sure though. Their mochi waffle is reallllllly good! That’s probably one of my favorite waffles and I don’t know anywhere else that makes it. I’d come back for sure though!

Horchata: 4 stars Very tasty & a bit on the sweet side but hit the spot for a cold day. Matcha latte: 3 stars Not much of a green tea taste here but more of milky & sweeter tasting Matcha drink. They’ve expended their space but they can still add more tables & chairs. Tip: free WiFi here just ask 4PW

Came here on Veteran’s Day with a friend to study and do homework. It wasn’t too busy when we got there so we sat ourselves next to an outlet. After about 30 minutes the place was packed and service wasn’t great, but it’s ok I know they’re understaffed :) I didn’t know the difference between the green tea and matcha sea salt lattes so I asked the waitress and she explained it to me. I went with a regular sized matcha and the sea salt was two thumbs up! My friend had the milk tea with boba and pudding and she says it’s 4⁄5 but I think she’s just being nice so let’s say 3.5÷5. It was pretty hard to concentrate because even though a lot of people were studying, it was still pretty loud. So if you’re able to study through noise, I think you’ll be ok. I’ve come here before for the waffles and ice cream and I remember really liked that so maybe next time again.

3.5 stars is about right for Macchiato. Too bad we can’t give half stars on Unilocal :( Came in on a Friday mornin’ because I had seen these drinks on Facebook and they had intrigued me. Potted plants! I hadn’t seen stuff like that since… the now defunct Cube Bakery in Rowland Heights. Why? Their drinks are good with the«mud» [cookie crumbs]. But why, why, is most of the drink ice? That, combined with the price,($ 3.95)… yep. It looks fancy, but you gotta pick and choose what you’ll like. Almond? Yes. It tastes really nice and fragrant. You keep drinking it and you wonder«what is it. It tastes so familiar and nice but it’s subtle» Matcha– Nope. I don’t suggest getting this one here. :-/ I feel like you should get the regular drinks instead and ask for less ice. The potted plants are good for looking and posting on IG, but the ridiculous amount of ice in there and the price. bleh. And it’s a «medium» sized cup as well. Go to half and half and get way more bang than your buck. Friendly service here, they ask you if it is your first time and explain what they have: P

Monterey Park, CA: Friendly service! No question about customer service! I think I counted attention from no less than five different young staff members during my brief time spent in the shop. Here’s the count. 1) Greeted at the door 2)Directed to counter for to go orders 3)Questions patiently answered, including sharing that they roast their own coffee beans 4)Our To Go drinks were served to us as we awaited at a table inside 5)Being directed to the dispensery when I sought a straw for my hot drink Our drinks were okay. I think I failed to couch my question clearly as I was still unclear as to the difference between a latte and a macchiato. Google now tells me that the latter is generally espresso and foam, with no milk. Hmmm, that might explain the taste of bitter coffee followed by the forewarnwd sweet taste of the syrup. My daughter’s Honeydew flavored Smoothie tasted adequate as she’s had better. Large windows facing Atlantic Blvd from indoor seating areas and tables outside. Free wifi avaialable. Parking in structure behind the two story strip mall or curbside. 3 stars for drinks, plus one more for attentive service. We did not partake of ice cream and food items on the menu.

[Time & Date of visit]: Afternoon weekdays, late night weekend [Party Size]: 2 – 4 [Location/Ambiance]: Inside is spacious though most people can be hogging up a wall outlet in the other dining area. I normally pack a surge protector and a 10′ extension cord when I do photo shoots but this isn’t in my daily carry camera bag. The counter top area is pretty good if you’re solo. Though the only outlet is near the staff’s POS system. Tip: This is also a really good spot for pics when the sun is fully out but still in the shade. I also like how there’s a patio and tables near the fountain. Ambiance is — very chill, relaxed. Have a bubble tea drink and chill with some friends. Neither times have been loud even with other big groups present. [Service]: Mixture of fast casual or partial full service. You can order and prepay at the counter. Or place an order with a server and pay at the counter at the end. Drinks and food orders are brought out pretty quick. They are fairly attentive and checking up on people for orders /refills. [Food Highlights]: Potted plant bubble tea — I have yet to find any café in ATL that is just as good as this version. Majority it’s being overly sweet that kills it for other places. Good to try. Royal Milk tea — The only other place that I’ve liked their version was Quickly and Macchatio’s is also as good. The combination of jasmine green tea and black tea is blended just right. Worth a try. Sea Salted Thai Tea — Strange combination but it works. The sea salt is very minor and doesn’t subtract from the richness you normally expect from Thai tea. Best way I can describe it is, a hint of sea salt flavoring followed by the sweet Thai tea middle and end. Also worth a try. Green Tea Crème Brulee — It tasted… a bit frozen and just thawed out. At least the version we had. Not overwhelmingly rich, but it’s a sugar rush I think just like other crème brûlée’s. So-so — ok. {Summary}: It’s a great chill spot that isn’t loud. Good for just killing time on your laptop or doing a little work. Parking sucks though time to time. And most of the drinks are enjoyable, even more so with the mason jar if you are dining in. 4 stars.

I would say there are a lot of tea houses all around the SGV area to try and most of the time people stick with the one they love. I am not loyal in a sense because I always love trying new places and Macchiato was on my list to try out. Located in Monterey Park it is pretty close and in the same plaza as Half and Half. Came here on a weekend and it was pretty packed to the point where the only seats were really cloes to the bathroom side. Don’t order your drinks at the ordering place that is for take out so just sit down and the chair and a server will come and bring you menus and take your order. Got a lychee slush and a brown sugar macchiato plus a green tea cream brûlée. Even though it was busy I feel like the drink orders and dessert came out pretty fast and everything. I enjoyed my slushy because it was super hot that day and I needed something chilled and icy. I rarely go out and drink slushies but recently I have been drawn to try other flavors also. This one really did taste like lychee. The cream brulee was really cute since it had a minion on the plate. I’ve been looking for minions everywhere and trying different cafes to see how they incorporate them into the items. I didn’t eat the cream brulee since that has dairy products in it but it as stated that the top part of the sugar was not hard enough just yet and pretty soft. Overall I think this place is alright and maybe it is just hype that brings people here but still it is a nice spot to drink and get something different.

Little spot near Tokyo Shabu Shabu that serves mostly tea, coffee, drinks, desserts, and waffles. Everything is really cute here and service is really good. Place is also really clean, which is always a plus. Matcha Macchiato: They draw cute artwork on your hot latte drinks. This was pretty good, with a good balance of matcha and coffee flavor. My only gripe was that it was only lukewarm, room temp instead of hot. Peach Mojito: I’m a big fan of alcoholic mojitos. Naturally, I hate when places call a drink a mojito, after barely putting some mint leaves in flavored water/tea/soda. However, I really enjoyed the peach mojito here! All their ingredients are at the proper ratio of carbonation, flavoring, and mint. :) Definitely tasted like a real mojito, sans alcohol. Roast Beef Waffle Sandwich: A lot of waffle sandwich places I have tried just replace the buns with waffle-shaped bread. What’s the point of it being a waffle sandwich then, other than the photos? Macchiato’s waffle sandwich actually uses sweet waffles. I thought the sweetness of the waffle blended well with the saltiness of the sandwich fillings. The taste is there, but the ratio is off. But I thought they should have added more filling/meat. There was a little TOO much waffle, which made the sandwich too bread-y. I probably won’t return, simply because nothing amazed me here. Everything was good, and there’s not much to complain about. But definitely nothing was great. A-OK. 3.5 Stars.

Everything is really affordable here. The first time I came, I tried the plotted plant milk tea with boba and it was really good. For my second visit(because the line at half & half was ridiculously long so I came here) I ordered the horchata machiatto for $ 3.95 plus boba .50 cents. My drink was under $ 5 for a regular sized drink. WARNING: thoroughly mix your drink before sipping on it… I don’t know why they don’t mix your drinks for you when they make it. Uhh? So weird!!! I made the mistake of not mixing my drink and I got a big gulp of sugar. Overall, my drink was way too sweet and lacked in coffee taste. Boba balls were perfectly made though. I also ordered my younger sisters«The Milky Way» which was just frosted milk, brown sugar, and your choice of 2 toppings; I got boba and pudding. To be honest, nothing particularly stood out to me in this drink. It was too sweet and I’d much rather prefer half & half. And I don’t even enjoy half & half that much, lol.

Its Two Star Tuesday(TST) again! But not because of the company. I dropped by here with my pal Tiffany L, because its in her hood: Monterey Park. Macchiato is a converted Starbucks that serves coffee, snacks and waffles. It is located on Atlantic, just south of the 10. We ordered a sea salt caramel candy($ 4.50), macchiato potted plant($ 5), and a macchiato sundae w/crispy waffle($ 7.95 vs mochi waffle). My drink was OK, and it was better than 85 C. However, it was a bit too creamy on top: 3 Stars. Secondarily, Tiff’s drink was a bit wack. It had oreo crumbles(made to look like dirt), but she didn’t like the flavor. In addition, she didn’t finish it: 2 Stars. Lastly, the waffle was pretty bad. It was not crispy and lacked flavor: Nothing like the HK waffle we had at previously reviewed French Roast. They should have rocked the most expensive thing on the menu: 2 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, it was OK. There are a number of tables inside and outside. However, the back of my chair was broken, and our table was dirty: 2 Stars. On the other hand, the service from our waitress was OK. She was nice and informative about the menu: 3 Stars. Nonetheless, the kitchen didn’t do well because you can’t change the ice cream flavors in the sundae: 2 Stars due to lack of options. I’m not going to hold this one against Tiff, because she had never been here, and it served its purpose as it was close to the freeway. But there is NFW I would return, so this place earns its spot on my TST List. BTW, Macchiato means stained or marked, and this place put a stain on the area, and is also marked on my NFA — Never Fukn Again places.
