Ok folks I give credit where credit is due. Having moved down to this neck of the woods, I was looking for a place that compared to an old Pasadena favorite I had called real taco. I would have been happy if they’re as good as Sausalito in Pasadena, and let me tell you they are. The better than Tops, better than Everest, better than Jims, better than anything in Pasadena. The bean and cheese burrito is excellent, hell all of the Mexican delicacies they serve are great, their fries are excellent, well seasoned as well as nice and crispy just right. The only thing they don’t do right is pastrami. It’s a little too salty and a little bit too wet and greasy, but everything else you have to try. I give it an A+ and I do not, as you know give out accolades of that nature too often.

Ok boys and girls this is a time to learn from an old man. I’ve been eating at gardunos since 1967 and I finally came back 35 years later and the tacos taste just as good and the same hats off to gardunos for keeping the flavor alive and giving old guys great memories

This place is the beez neez! I used to attend the beauty school across the street we ate here alot! I recommend the nachos with carne asada or the chili cheese fries! …but on broke days we would get the bean and cheese burritos or the burgers I personally have never been dissatisfied! They have this awesome taquito bowl and tacos dorados you must try for yourself! Also very very cheap too!

I’ve had this place bookmarked for a while given all the rave reviews. Finally got the chance to try it, so I ordered the Green Chile Burrito. I don’t get it. Boiled under-seasoned meat scooped into a tortilla that doubles as a soup bowl. All for $ 6! Well, at least I tried it and can scratch it off my Unilocal bookmarks.

Prices have gone way up for what you actually are getting… I mean $ 6.50 for a Spec Ques. If I want to pay $ 10.00 for lunch I might as well go to Sizzler… QUENO… Try Bea’s on 3rd Street or the old Garduno’s on Garfield…

Parking on premises. No bathroom. Dining inside and outside(tables and counter top). Countertop dining cause I sit all day at work so I enjoy eating standing. Wanted to try something different so I ordered the Pastrami Quesadilla. Can’t find that combo just anywhere. It’s big enough for two persons. Ask for some house red sauce to spice it up. Will return to try their green chile burrito.

Good food. Has been here for years. Tacos(soft) are a little pricier($ 2) compared to tacos everywhere else, But they put a good amount of meat. You can choose from asada, chicken, carnitas or alternative pastor. I really like their bean and cheese burritos also.

Garduno’s has been a Montebello staple for as long as I can remember(which is pretty much my entire life). Heck, my own mother came here when she was attending the neighboring high school. So for them to still be in business for so long, they must be doing something right… right? All in all, it comes down to the breakfast burritos. They’re incredibly satisfying and incredibly flavorful. I’m not sure what kind of secret ingredient they’re throwing in those things, but they’re just that good. Trust me. Everything else on the menu that I’ve had hasn’t disappointed, so I’d be alright in saying that it’s all fair game for your taste buds when it comes to getting some good, old fashioned Mexican style grab and go food.

After finishing shopping at the 99 cent store in Montebello, I decided to look around for a good place to eat on Unilocal. Then I saw Gardunos it’s near by and I know the area. I have been passing through this restaurant for years not knowing they serve good food especially burritos. I arrive at the restaurant it was as if I found a hidden gem. I notice right away they a special on hard tacos just for $ 1. But they serve the the tacos at 6PM to 10PM. The choice of meats are beef and chicken. I decided to order 4 chicken hard tacos and a chili renello burrito. I ask someone who was ordering he told me the burritos are really good and big, I have to wait to see with my own eyes. I got my order and seat on open one taco. It the size of my hand then I took a bite its good it’s very simple taco with full of flavor in the taco then I ate the remaining tacos they were delicious. My next is the step is the chili renello burrito. The size of the burrito is a good size but how it will taste, wow amazing flavors that other chili renello never had boldness I really enjoy it. The chili renello have onions and tomato sauce that other chili renello burrito that had. The one thing I enjoy is the cheese nice and gooey that’s how I like. Overall I really enjoy the my meal at Gardunos, I will come back again try other burrito or any item on their menu. I recommend to my family and friends and including my Unilocal friends.

I had the green chili burrito combo, which comes with the burrito, medium fries and medium drink for $ 8.50. It’s worth it since the burrito alone is $ 6.00. The burrito was good, i’ll give them that! The damn thing came out pipping hot though! I didn’t want to wait so I kept burning my mouth trying to eat it :(Fat kid problems. The burrito is filled with green chili strips, grilled onions, shredded beef, beans and cheese. It’s really good! I can’t wait to try the red one. Luckily mine didn’t fall apart while eating, but I can see how it has on others. The juice from the beef/chili stew leaks to the bottom which makes the tortilla soggy. You didn’t get me, sucker! ME-1 Burrito-0! I ordered a side of 1k Island for my fries, what a jip! 50 cents for this tiny cup? No thanks. it wasn’t even all that good… and had no trace of pickle or relish or whatever it’s usually made with. Drink refills are 50 cents. Enjoy!

Gardunos will always remind me of my childhood. Now that my parents have passed away, it is one of the few places that reminds me of where we all used to eat. This area will likely get gentrified in the next 20 years, but I hope Garduno stays forever. PS it’s all about the bean tostadas.

The last time I’ve ate at Gardunos was many many years ago. Happen to be in the area, had to Unilocal it, couldn’t find it by memory,. Unilocal took me to a whole different location. Same signage out side, the smell outside is good. Spoke to the cashier, he said same place, different location. Back then, the food was great,. Today I ordered the asada burrito, it was okay, to much beans, should have ordered the green chili one.

Gardunos is one of those Mexican fast food places you commonly find in Southern California that has been around for years. I grew up eating here, and I always thought it was great until now. I recently ordered a green chili burrito with beef. Let me start off by saying that it was rather small for 6 $. Half the size of other places. Inside the burrito was a slop of strips of chili, stewed meat, and cheese. It had a rather uninteresting flavor, without any beans or rice that usually come with these burritos. While I was eating it came apart from the bottom,(you would think these guys would know how to wrap a burrito after all these years). Inside the burrito I discovered some sort of weird round thing that was mushy. My brother claims it was a piece of mushroom. I didn’t bother complaining because it wasn’t worth my time. From then on I decided I would never eat here again. My brothers fries were really burned and the only thing good was my orange bang. If you want to eat poor quality mexican food with mystery meat, go ahead. I would rather spend my hard earned money at a quality eatery such as Pepes Mexican food in Alhambra. Only the people who live in Montebello would think this place is good, as they never leave the border of the town. Lastly this place really dirty inside, and looks like it should be condemned. Stay away from this sad, forgettable restaurant.

I’m so glad I finally got a chance to check this place out. I love trying bean & cheese burritos from different places to see who can get the closest to what I expect. I loved my burrito so much that I went the next day to order two more. Their red salsa is delicious. It’s definitely got a kick but it’s so flavorful. I had their hard shell beef tacos as well and I really liked those, they remind me of my mommas tacos. I’ll definitely have to go back and try the other things Unilocalers rave about like the chile verde burrito, chile colorado burrito, chili cheese fries, and super nachos. Plus, hello, who doesn’t like soft serve?!? The guys are super nice, they’ve already got my b&c burrito order down after returning for the second night. Damn. They know I’ll be back for more, and they are right. See you tomorrow :)

So before I was conceived, gardunos was my dads #1 place to go for GOOD food! He raised me on this gem in Montebello and now as an adult I fall in love with it over and over. Their hard beef tacos are delicious. Their green chile burritos are seriously heaven in your mouth!!! Not only is it a big portion but every bite is savory flavor that will have your taste buds craving for more!

I can’t believe I’ve been working in this area for 2 years and just now visiting Gardunos. Shame on me! Today I woke up with tacos on the mind. I had to go to the Montbello DMV at lunch so, I decided to stop by Gardunos down the street to fill my taco craving. I only ordered one taco(beef) because I heard that most people came here for the burritos. So I got a green chili chicken as well. The taco shell was crunchy and not too oily. The shredded beef inside was flavorful. And it was topped off with a lot of lettuce, tomato and cheese. My burrito was huge. Inside was refried beans, chunks of chicken, large pieces of green chili and salsa. TASTY. Of course I could only get half of down. Don’t have to worry what’s for dinner tonight! And the hot sauce was good and not too spicy. The place itself is really plain and«eh». There is a flat screen TV to watch as you munch. Not sure if they take ATM cards, but there is a ATM machine to pull some cash. This is one place I will be sure to visit again.
