We’ve gone a couple of times here. Similar concept to Mac N’Out in Milford. I think this one is the original, but I’m not caught up with the mac n’ cheese drama. We like: Mac Gumbo — my girlfriend loves it, as it tastes like a seafood-less new orleans dish. Mac Mexican — watch out for the jalapenos hiding under all that cheese Mac Buffalo Chicken — a friend had it and my girlfriend tried it… they both liked it. We didn’t like: Mac Jordan — a combination of marinara, ricotta, mozzarella, mushrooms and sweet italian sausage sounded better in paper than in actuality. The marinara and overall pasta-style overpowered the cheesiness, resulting in something more prone to heartburn than cheesy nirvana. Overall: Pretty good for the Monroe area. I think the Mac N’ Out had a couple more interesting choices in the menu, but this one did well with the gumbo. It seems like they are expanding the dining area, as it is quite small right now. I see some people complaining about prices, which they may be right about, but just choose the smaller size(snack size) and you’ll be fine both fill-wise and wallet-wise. Also, there’s complaints about customer service, which may also be true. They weren’t very warm, but they took me money and delivered me food and that’s all I required. My small complaint would be that they need better drink options in the drink fountain, as it is very Subway-like. Anyway…I recommend it. Stop by if you’re around the area and try it for yourself!

So I really like Mac daddy’s. The choices are good the sizes are good. The food is good which is why I’m rating I a 4. The reason it does not get a 5 is– the poor service. The people at the desk couldn’t care less. The people that bring you your food don’t bring you utensils(not the worst but kinda silly) and… The prices! I’m all for delicious food and getting what I pay for– but the smallest size in some of the choices are really expensive. All in all the food is delish though.

Very good food. Kind of pricey, but good for a treat. Meals are very filling and deceptively big. I got a medium and could barely finish it.

First heard of Macdaddy’s when a friend brought a tray to one of our tailgates, and now I am a fan of this place. Expensive, but really amazing stuff. The french onion mac & cheese is out of these world, and by far my favorite. I would come here everyday, but Thank God this place is far from my house, otherwise I would be broke and obese from over eating this delicious mac & cheese. I have also tried the pulled pork and vodka sauce mac & cheese, both also very good. Had a cookie from here once and it was stale. What do I care? I don’t come here for cookies.

Had to reduce the stars because this place is straight OVERPRICED. Still delicious though if you can’t make it yourself for ½ the cost.

Came to try the new Mac and Cheese. I am gluten free, so I only came after finding that they offered gluten free macaroni. I had the Mac French Onion while my father had the Mac Attack with chili. Both were delicious. They also have cookies, chips, and fountain soda to grab on the side. Small restaurant, but nice for a quick lunch or dinner. Mac is served in a small pan out of the kitchen, which is pretty cool. There prices are a bit too much here. For a «snack» size and soda, it’s over 13 dollars, which is a rip off. They need to lower their prices about 3 to 4 dollars. There also was some loud rowdy teenagers that were hanging out which were kind of annoying. Other wise I would suggest coming by.

This place has been on my to try list for a looooong ass time, but I never find myself remotely near Monroe. On the way home from a weekend with the BF, I decided to finally try this place(it’s not terribly far off the Merritt Parkway) Some of the reviews had me worried: Mac ‘n Out in Milford(which is allegedly a ripoff of this place) is ok but never impressed me, and S’Mac and MacBar in New York have set the bar high. Yes, it’s a little expensive, but you shouldn’t be eating here on a daily basis unless you want to weigh 500lbs. I went with the pulled pork mac, which was very good, although it doesn’t seem like they do the pork with BBQ sauce(it’s just drizzled over top) I also ordered the cracker-oni which was weird: deep fried lemon pepper elbows with cheese sprinkled on top — next time I’ll stick with the regular mac and cheese type selections

Had this place for about 5+ years, fantastic almost everything. Large variety of mac & cheeses, a little pricey but is usually worth it. Snack size is the recommended size for individuals. The bigger sizes are deff for families or for a party sharing a fish.

My office decided to order lunch from here today. I really enjoyed my mac vegetarian. It had asparagus, sundried tomatoes, artichokes, fontina & balsamic drizzle(which incidentally I could not detect :() I am not a Mac and cheese loved, so this was a labor of love for me. I prefer baked macaroni or macaroni pie as we call it in the Islands, but I have read so many conflicting opinions I decided to dive in. I ordered a snack sized veggie and it was pretty good. Oy vey the price! The price will definitely keep me from going back… most macaroni costs no more than $ 1.69/bag. The fancier noodle will get you for about $.40 more. A couple of grates of cheese, one artichoke heart, 4 pieces of(itsy bitsy) asparagus, a splash of cream and VOILA! I am out $ 8 +tax? The portions are a good size, but their prices are incongruous with the nature of the food being served. They lose one star for being cray cray!

I went there when if first opened so take this for what it is worth… maybe things for better. The menu was limited, and they basically only had mac and cheese. If I were an investor this place would be destined for FAILURE. My wife can’t have gluten or dairy so we will never go here again. There were no other options. I am also a fan of spicy, again at the time no options.

Their snack size is enough to fill me! Huge portions, and amazing variety. Unique spins on Mac n cheese.

After all my friends hyping about macdaddys I’m so glad I came! I had the snack Mac caprese and Mark had the snack Mac Daddy. Both were amazing! Food came out very quick as well. Will be coming back many times with winter approaching.

I have been to this location(as well as the one that used to be open in Fairfield) many times. I stopped in about a week ago while I was in the area. I ordered an ok dish, that I hadn’t had before. I’ve had the mac daddy, mac usa, mac attack and mac French onion, which are all some of my favorites. I know this isn’t a sit-down place, but I was very disappointed while I waited and ate my food. The teenage workers went on and on about inappropriate topics, other staff members, etc. I’m sorry to post this, but it made me not want to return since I used to enjoy stopping in there to grab something to eat and relax.

this place is so over-hyped on here i had to say something. overpriced and mediocre are the first two words that come to mind. if this were a niche little joint with some personality and much, much better grub it might be noteworthy. as it is, it’s a wannabe chain that tries way too hard and it’s obvious by the time you’ve spend $ 25 — 30 for two people to eat mac n’ cheese and a soda, the profit margin is the driving force. is it better than velveeta/boxed mac? sure. can you do better at home with a $ 2 bag of pasta and a couple of nice cheeses and some heavy cream? absolutely. and for about 1⁄10th the price. it’s the kind of place i’d like to love, but i don’t see the love in the food and i just can’t abide. sorry mac daddy, but you whack.

Have been here many times and I’m usually happy with my order. Today however was a different story. Ordered the mushroom Mac and cheese which came with hardly any mushrooms at all(not what I’d expect given the name) and it also tastes like they totally overdid the truffle oil. When I went to complain, I was offered a side of mushrooms. It looked like two small cut up mushrooms that were cold out of the fridge. Disgusting and no, it’s not gonna make up for the mistake. I mean come on, it’s not shrimp or lobster. This is a cheap ingredient. Would’ve been so easy to fix and yet… not sure I’ll be coming back. I can take my business elsewhere thank you very much.

I’m a man that’s addicted to mac & cheese, And this restaurant did nothing but please. Whoever thought of this restaurant is really smart, Because choosing my meal was the hardest part. I was expecting a really cool restaurant with waiter service. Instead I walked into a simple cafeteria-style restaurant with a few tables and chairs, a soda machine, and an open kitchen. Nevertheless, this place has one staple dish, and they make it well. Between four of us we got four snack-sized mac & cheese dishes: Pulled Pork, Buffalo Chicken, Mushroom Truffle, and Hot Dog. It was the perfect amount of food for four people with normal appetites. The dishes were all perfectly hot and creamy and were served to us on lil’ skillets. None of the toppings were overpowering and they all complemented the pasta and sauces very well. The prices were a little high, but for specialty mac & cheese dishes, I think they were fair. The best part is that this place is a pretty short ride from Jones Family Farm. I can tell you from experience that there is absolutely nothing better than a heaping plate of macaroni & cheese after a wine tasting. If only this place sold some wine or craft beer…

This place has a very different concept and is a bit of a one trick pony but does it well enough to warrant a trip. I do have to say we ordered the medium size since we had never been there before and if anyone considers their«snack size» a snack they probably can’t leave their house without the jaws-of-life! I went with some pretty good eaters and the medium had us all moaning by the end and taking left overs with us. I had the buffalo chicken mac and it was a nice spicy comfort food that should be served with a side of lipator. The crack-aroni is also pretty original… deep fried mac tossed in some cheese and I believe salt and pepper. Some one on this board seems to have a vendetta against this place but I would ignore that and give it a try if the words gourmet mac and cheese peek your interest at all!

Before entering the store I would suggest investing in some maternity pants or ones that stretch. Macdaddys is bomb and takes having a fat day to a whole new level! The snack size is more then enough to give you a food baby that you secretly hate but freaking loved every bite that put you in this painful predicament. Be sure to go with friends that order different flavors so you can snag a bite of each and share the happiness! This place has by far some of THE best Mac and cheese I have ever had. Each type is spot on with the flavor and how could you go wrong with ones that taste just like a Big Mac, banging buffalo chicken, pulled pork, French onion, and lobster. The place itself is pretty small with a few tables but it gets the job done with its«hipster vibe»? If you wanna call it that? But who cares about the décor when your only thought is how to shovel the next bite into your mouth without looking like a wild animal and trying to savor the taste forever. Well done macdaddys, well done.

YUM! On a whim as we were passing by my boyfriend and I stopped in here. The choices were plentiful, the service was friendly and fast, and the portions were gigantic. We split a snack size of the vodka mac and it was more than enough for our lunch. It was a bit pricey for what it is: noodles and cheese. And we are fans of home cooking, but the menu gave us plenty of ideas for our own mac n cheese concoctions. It’s definitely worth a visit, and if you have a group of hungry cheese lovers the MacDaddy size will more than curb your appetites. Plus the artwork is worth a giggle at the very least.
