This location cannot even be categorized as «fast-food». They are soooooo SLOW! When I am really hungry, sometimes I stop here late at night on long drives back to Albany. With no one else in line, it takes ATLEAST15 – 20 minutes for a Filet O’ Fish and a coke. As I look through the drive-thru window,(perfect view from my vehicle) I always see 1 – 2 lazy young women texting, scratching their heads, and VERYSLOWLY wandering the kitchen in a daze. Lots of texting – every single time. Always stopping for a long time to type in their phones. And when I finally get the sandwich, it’s sloppily thrown together with the cheese halfway off and one tiny dab of tartar sauce. I’ve skipped stopping here the last couple times because they are so SLOW. Healthier not to eat at McDonalds anyway… Did I mention they are SLOW?

Ordered chicken nuggets. Guys sweeping the floor with dirty brooms keeps same gloves to prep food. Asked him to redo it with clean gloves and he and other staff looks at me like what is your problem. #! $?

I rarely give one star votes. You’d have to do a piss poor job in both service and food quality to even have me think of a one star vote. This McDonalds exceeded in both aspects. Let’s begin with the kitchen employees. Normally if you have long hair you’d be told to tie your hair back. Not here! I saw one of the female kitchen workers continuously flinging her hair back and forth… yay for sanitary! From what I saw with the food I didn’t have any hair on it, but that’s literally lowest common denominator in terms of «it could be worse». I ordered my food at exactly 7:40am. I never received my order until around 8:10am, despite the fact 10 others behind me all got their orders. We even checked the order board screen behind the counter, and we never saw our order. We asked one of the employees where our order is, and they apparently never put through our order to the kitchen. When our order was finally received, we noticed they only made half of our order! Two hash browns and one of the breakfast sandwiches was missing; back to the cashier we went. After everything finally came through, we demanded an apology from one of the employees, and they all look stunned, like the fact they never got criticized before. Well, they have now. Oh, they did sheepishly said sorry. Definitely didn’t cut it. I rarely stop at the Mohawk Service Area anyway when I go to NYC; now I know why.

The McDonalds at the Mohawk Traqvel Plaza on the New York Throughway. Not many other options at this plaza. They provide the usual McDonalds fare with no complaints on service on a moderately busy night.

When you have very limited options, this plaza certainly was good enough for a quick bite to eat. I was part of a very large tour group(at least three buses pulled up almost simultaneously). I was grateful for the pit stop and the quick service. Had no trouble at all with the food quality. Large area for eating in as well.

Holy smokes! The fries were perhaps the saltiest I have ever experienced at any McDonalds on earth, and like another reviewer noted, they were perhaps half full at best. I think that anyone desperate enough to eat McDonalds on the thruway, he or she deserves at least marginally edible fries. Honestly, next time someone visits, call them on this crap. Check the bag before driving off into the night and let them know that half portion of fries is not good enough. Make them cook a new batch without salt just to show them who’s boss.

worst french fries ever. not only was my medium fry not filled completely, they were cold. i would have turned around but being on the thruway prevented that. hold out for a different travel plaza.
