Beef fajita is good, enchilada is ok, pork tamale is awful! It has absolutely no flavor but salty!!!

Now our only mexican restaurant… thanks to Amador Soto(and thank you Mya) who is most excellent cook… and makes your dish the way you want… made our dishes with coconut oil(paleo friendly) — ie chile relleno and refried beans… will cook in olive oil or real butter too if requested… when you go here you become part of the family! Another location in Sienna… we love you Sotos…

Soto’s is great. Come on in and support your independent neighborhood restaurants. We don’t have to live in The Heights to have unique restaurants! Soto’s has a great ambiance, kind waitstaff and most importantly, great food. I’m not much for Tex-Mex and Soto’s does a great job at offering some different items. I had(super juicy) chicken with cactus– delicious. My husband loved his dish as well. We had nice wine and I was eyeing a certain margarita that seemed to be very popular. It looked well-crafted and is on my wish list for next time. Bottom line– if you are looking for fresh, authentic Mexican food in a great environment, Soto’s is a great choice!

I had the cactus steak, and tried a chicken dish, and a shrimp dish… the flavors and sauces on all the dishes are amazing. Definitely worth every penny!!! The wait staff was very nice and patient. We all licked our plate clean. The salsa alone will bring me back to this gem in the suburbs… why have I not tried this place before?

Overall, the food was okay. We ordered take out and they forgot our order of queso but made sure to charge us for it. We called to see if we can get a refund and was told the manager would call back. 24 hours later, no returned call. Lesson learned — check the bag.

This was one of the worst experiences I have had in a great while. 1.5 hours to get our meal. I had Mole’ and it was burnt and bitter. Will not be back. I gave one star that is not deserved.

Great food here! I had the Cactus Chicken — a large portion of perfectly cooked and juicy chicken breast with a wonderful spicy topping and sauce. The chips and homemade salsa were good too. The rice and beans on the side were just OK to me, but there was so much deliciousness on my plate, that was a minor point. They had every Mexican beer I had heard of on the menu — bottles only, none on tap. Their Hibiscus Margarita was a fun treat — it’s a traditional margarita served in a martini glass with a swirl of yummy sweet hibiscus sauce pulled through. No salt on the rim. Our server was personable and helpful. Chips and salsa were refilled with a smile, although when we saw the size of our chicken dinners, we were sorry we had eaten so many chips! A pleasant atmosphere and excellent meal.

I have heard good things about Soto’s food so my wife and I decided to try them out this evening. What a disaster… There was no host/hostess to greet us so we waited. We waited so long that we read the menu and decided what we wanted. We waited about 4 or 5 more minutes before I decided to go to the bar to ask for assistance. The manager was behind the bar as was a bartender. There were numerous wait staff, bussers etc around as well. The restaurant was approximately 70% occupied at this time… busy, but manageable. I stood at the bar for about 5 minutes… no one acknowledged my presence. The manager walk past me at least 4 times and she never said a word. At this time I started tapping my fingers and had an obvious amount of money in my hand… nothing…not one waiter, manager etc acknowledged my presence. After a total of 17 minutes of being ignored, I announced to the entire bar area that I was leaving because no one had the decency to ask if we needed assistance or even to acknowledge us to let us know someone would assist us. The look on the managers face said it all… she was shocked and most likely confused as to what was going on… even though she was right in front of me most of the time. My wife and I left and went a block up the street to Bravos and had a good meal. Soto’s will never get my business again because they clearly have no respect for those who want to patronize their establishment.

Tonight I tried this restaurant for the first time. All of the food was good except for the guacamole. It looked and tasted expired. It was also very expensive for 3 people. $ 88.00 and we barely ordered anything. It wasn’t worth it and I highly don’t recommend it. Never coming back.

If I could give half stars, I’d rank this as a 4.5… Like the smaller location they have on highway 6, the food is wonderful here. The salsa sets the tone before you order — fresh and chunky with a healthy burn. We usually get the fajitas and they’re great. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and while it’s not as close to us as the other location it’s easier to get a table here because it’s larger. The half star is for service. Like many restaurants out here in the ‘burbs, the wait staff is really young and sometimes their inexperience shows. We’ve come to expect that and keep coming back for the food.

Twice in a week! It’s that good I can literally eat here twice every week. My favorite meal is the combo #1 with a beef taco, cheese enchilada and pork tamale. It’s the only thing I’ve ordered but have tried the chicken fajitas and those were aaaaamazing! I’ve also tried the burrito which was also amazing. Pretty sure everything is great here and you can’t go wrong with anything off the menu. Oh and $ 2 lunch margaritas!

Best authentic mexican! I have yet to dislike a dish. Everything is fantastic! Wrote this shortly after they opened. The service still pretty good and friendly. But the kitchen takes way longer than before. Have been back a couple of times and is always the same. When is good that they make your food to order… At lunchtime or with hungry kids is not so good… Last time hubby ordered a steak and came out way smaller than what the menu advertised. We did not say anything because the waiter was just too nice. And the table next to us also complained about the wait… Just ask for Jorge(George) to serve you, He’ll keep you eating chips while you wait! and refilling your drink. But beware the girls bathroom is not the best.

We’ve been looking for a great Mexican food restaurant in the area. Have tried so many — finally found Soto’s! Wow! We started with the yummy queso flameado… and ordered the shrimp enchiladas as well as the green chicken enchiladas… both were delicious. Eager to try the different mole dishes over the next few visits. Great service and great food! We’re hooked!

Excellent Mexican food. Great service. Great presentation. The fajitas are out of this world. Same owners as the sienna location. This place has a better menu selection

My wife is very particular about her authentic Mexican food and one look at the Sotos menu seemed a promising dining experience was ahead. There were a lot of interesting choices so it made it difficult to decide but eventually she settled on the Mole chicken. As the gringo in the family I chose the beef fajitas. The mole was quite delicious but a different recipe then she was accustomed to. The fajita beef was extremely tender, not like a lower grade beef that is commonly found in fajitas. The rice and bean plate was rather small and I prefer warm beans but the taste was OK. The service was attentive and not overbearing and all in all a good dining experience. There’s much more on the menu we would like to try so we will definitely be back.

This was our first visit and we were impressed! We used to come here when it was the old CiCi’s pizza location many years ago on Dulles Avenue. This is Soto’s second location and it has a warm, inviting ambiance. We heard it’s larger than their first, closer to Sienna. When we arrived, Maya greeted us and Aaron was our waiter. Both were extremely friendly and attentive and the food was fabulous. The salsa is freshly made with chunks of tomatoes, onions and cilantro and the chips were warm. My husband ordered the fajitas and I ordered the shrimp tacos. The fajita beef and the shrimp were both fresh and seasoned perfectly. They were juicy and tasty as was the rice and beans. It was a wonderful first experience and we will definitely be back. It’s our favorite New Mexican restaurant!!!

A group of our friends desired experiencing something new and visited Soto’s on Cartwright and Dulles. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised. Margaritas and food had the best authentic flavor. Atmosphere was great. It was packed this trip. The wait was not long, maybe 15 minutes at the bar. Service was superb. We were so pleased with the authentic taste of Mexico City, the tip was as much as the bill. Actually we’re so satisfied we made reservations for Valentine’s night. Last visit I was served Cautus Steak and loved it. Highly recommend.

Service was decent. Menu was decent but the wait was long even though on Saturday evening there wasn’t a large crowd. My steak mole was decent but nothing to rave about. Also had the tamales and chicken Cubano. It was again, decent. Also, the prices aren’t worth what’s served. The bathrooms, though, are the main reason for this low review. No bueno, no bueno…
