I would have never guessed that I’d find one of the most authentic Thai restaurants right in what is basically my backyard(Mo City, woop woop!). Not only is the food complex and flavorful, but the servings are generous, and the affordable prices blow the other wannabe Thai restaurants out of the water! Some have used«hole-in-the-wall» to describe Fu Lu Su. You might even call it dingy. There is nothing fancy about the place. The service comes at a tortoise’s pace. The English is pretty broken. But the food… it is undeniably homemade. And the woman in charge is so genuinely kind in a motherly type of way. Every dish I have tried has been a home run. The panang and red curry are both delicious. I find the curries to be lacking a little heat, so make sure to request for more spice if you’re a hot-head like me. I highly recommend the nam sod(ground pork«salad») with a side of lettuce. Expect to get sideways glances for ordering the side of lettuce, but trust me when I say it’s the best lettuce wrap you’ll ever have. This spicy, salty, sour treat is so satisfying you’ll forget it’s healthy… ish. Don’t let the restaurant’s appearance deceive you. Yes, it is kind of a shabby shack. Yes, the service is quite slow. And Yes, the English is choppy. Dress down, clear your schedule, and put your listening ears on. This Mo City gem is as close to the real thing that I’ve found without having to drive 30 minutes into town.

Best AuthenticThai FOOD in the Houston Area. Tammy has been serving up the best tastes that Thailand has to offer at the same location since I was a little boy in the early 80’s taking Tae Kwon Do classes next door. Nothing has changed. Just the best home cooked AUTHENTIC Thai food that anyone can ask for. Period!!! Ambiance actually feels like you’re in Thailand too, which is another story lol. When the food is that good, who cares about ambiance. There is a reason Fu Lu Su has been in business for over three decades. Dare to find out for yourselves.

Tiny place in quail valley. They can’t update because they can’t afford the new code requirements. Twenty years experience and the husband and wife team make excellent Thai food at reasonable prices that I have no reservations about recommending. Old Thai ladies fill it up in the evening. You can’t go wrong.

All in all great food. Service is a bit slow, but it does look like it’s a small family owned restaurant so maybe one cook, one server/cashier. The main reason why I’m not giving the 5 start rating is that we sat down ordered our food and watch two to-go order who were after us get their food and leave before we even got ours. I would go back just to see if the slow service was a one time thing.

This is a neighborhood Thai restaurant with average food. If you are stuck in the burbs then this place will have to do. Don’t expect much as the green curry taste a little off. And I know my green curry(see sugar Thai review). Stick to the pad Thai if you choose Fu Lu Su. You’ve been warned!

Atmosphere: love it or hate it, it’s a kind of dingy hole in the wall, mom-and-pop type place with a TV playing in the background, and mismatched dining furniture. Service: we were the only ones there Saturday at noon for lunch. It seemed like there was one person doing everything(including the cooking), so it was a little slow, but not too bad. She was perhaps a little curt initially, but did take a minute to smile and say hi to the baby(who doesn’t love a cute baby/toddler?) appetizer came out after the entrée Food: pud thai was forgettable. A little bland and tasted like a ketchup based sauce. I know some people/restaurants do that, but I’m not a fan. Papaya salad was lovely and fresh, with excellent ratio of lime, fish sauce, and chili(med spicy for us). Similar to what I’ve had elsewhere. Thai tea was a bit sweet, but good. Large portions. Price: cheap compared to most inner loop places Verdict: not terrible, but not that good. probably would not come back.

This place was awesome! Panang is my favorite Thai dish and it was absolutely phenomenal here. The lady who cooked and waited on us didn’t speak much English but she made us feel welcome. New favorite restaurant!

My family always orders to go from here to eat at home. Some days, their foods are a little more spicy than others. If you want authentic tasting Thai food in the Sugar Land /Missouri City area, definitely come here! Papaya Salad: 5⁄5. Absolutely the best from here! It’s a must try, but it can get spicy! Moo Nam Tok: 5⁄5. Again, one of my favorite places to get this dish. The pork pieces are sometimes fatty, but that’s one of the best parts. Pad Kee Mao: 4⁄5. Lots of flavor, but I feel like this dish was majority of the flat noodles than anything else in it.

Love this place! Large portions, very authentic!!! Penang curry is amazing!!! Gave 4 stars only because it leaves a LOT to be desired in terms of cleanliness! But, food is worth it!

This is a place I USED to enjoy going to when I’m in the mood for Thai food, but the lady who takes my order and payment is never consistent. Tonight I called in a take out order of pad thai, iced coffee and iced tea. I looked in their menu and calculated it out. She told me a different price and when I asked for a detailed receipt, she said there isn’t one and waved me off. I told her I needed one and she randomly wrote numbers on my order sheet and waved me off again. I guess she doesn’t like to be called out when she’s trying to rip people off. I definitely won’t be going back.

I’ve driven by this place for years not knowing what it was until they added a «Thai food» sign at their window. Got chicken pad thai to go and was flushed with euphoria to get such a large portion size for the price! I’m tired of fancy thai places thinking it’s okay to charge over $ 10 for a noodle dish. The pad thai here was on point — just right amount of sauce, tons of flavor without being too sweet. This hole in the wall has been in business for over 20 years, so they clearly are doing something right. Glad to have found my new go to Thai place.

So I had to go to the post office to drop off a parcel and I decided to look for a place to eat something fast and easy. I was opting for Chinese but then I saw Fu Lu Su. I decided to check it out. It is a pretty modest place and the receptionist patiently waited while I gave my order. I went for a shrimp stir fry noodles with basil. Although I didn’t like the taste of basil leaves I would say that food was good and the pricing was reasonable. The shrimps were cooked to perfection and noodles were not soggy. I think I will definitely check this place out again.

We had a great time at dinner at the fu Lu Su which started off with chicken and vegetable soup combo which was very tasty. Then for the main course it was an awesome deep fried pomfrit fish with Thai chilli sauce which was Devine followed with grilled shrimp stir fry noodle, chicken pad Thai and chicken Penang. We went with a party of 4 adults and 3 kids. We had a lot of left over food and full stomachs when we left from there. Another happy customer. This place is a BYOB place with a $ 5 charge for bringing a bottle in.

Fu Lu Su Cheese Rolls– Don’t be fooled, it’s literally, cream cheese in a egg roll wrapper. As delicious as it sounds, I feel like I am missing something and want to get crab puffs from somewhere.(2⁄5) Thai Fried Rice(My mom loves this, I am not sure why), Go ahead and get it with gulf shrimp(3⁄5) Moo Goo Ga Pan– Chicken and Veggies– Still waiting more!(1⁄5) I think it was the Garlic Beef/Garlic Pork where it was bbqed– that’s pretty good, so that would be like a(4⁄5)

Food may be good… but I’m scared to think of the«creatures» that agree with me as well. Mother in law was drinking a thai tea. Suddenly something gets stick in her straw… she keeps sucking thinking it was ice. But unfortunately it was a cockroach. Thiis cannot be forgiven.

Not a bad place at all. A much smaller restaurant than the bigger Thai restaurants in Houston. It could be considered a ‘hole in the wall’ joint because of the size and the furniture(old school tables). The food was good. The waitress was nice and alert to our needs. My gal even asked for a modification and they handled it with no problem. I don’t think it’s fair to compare it to a bigger, fancier Thai place but it holds it own considering its location and size.

Upon declaring my intention of visiting the legendary Fu-Lu-Su, a serenation of support worthy of troops being deployed exploded around me. Yet no one wanted to tag along, like it’s the temple on top of a mountain in Kung Fu movies, a myth. The alarm goes off as I enter! Wait, that’s the giant cowbell chiming like a prison break warning attached the door. Theres no turning back as all eyes are now on me. Which consists of 1 staff and 1 customer. Food: Pad Se Yiu– asked for Thai Spicy. My standard Thai test for places I have not been. But it’s not spicy enough to need any water, or towels to wipe the sweat, and my allergies weren’t impressed. C– Now that the myth is shattered, I know why this place gets less visitors than a haunted house. With no redeeming quality in the food, not much chance in a legendary status. Like the temple in the clouds, few visitors and even fewer leaving enlightened.

Yes as all of said this place truly is a total dive. They don’t even have a sign out front right now that is easy to find but it is on the outside corner of a strip center so keep your eyes peeled. Almost everything we ordered was really yummy from the cheese rolls, the wonton soup, and pad se ew with veggies. The only thing I wouldn’t order again was the pud(pad) Thai for it was just all noodles basically. For the price I haven’t found much better in awhile.

Fu Lu Su is a prime example of why you should never ever judge a book by its cover. The moment you pull up to the parking lot and see the red signs to the moment you walk into the restaurant and feel like you just entered someones kitchen are the main reasons why most would feel a little sketch about coming here. If you can imagine your grandma, back in her motherland cooking in the kitchen of where her grandma use to cook, then that’s how I would describe the vibe and ambiance of this place — authentic and old fashioned. As for the food, I consider it to be average to above-average Thai food. The green curry was a little too soupy for my preference. The pad(pud) Thai had great flavors although I thought it wasn’t spicy enough. The pad see ew flat noodles had a nice fresh, out-of-the-wok taste to it. The sweet and sour soup(Tom Yum Goong) we got was probably my favorite because the broth was perfect even though my friend ordered it extra-spicy and the shrimps were enormous, a huge(no pun intended) plus! Thai Green Curry — 2⁄5 Pad Thai — 3.5÷5 Tom Yum Goong — 4.5÷5 Pad See Ew — 4⁄5 If you want the authentic feel and flavors of classic Thai cuisine, then this is a great place to go to.

As a dine in restaurant, it certainly leaves a lot to be desired. We walked in to an empty restaurant and to be fair it really doesn’t look like a great establishment(from outside or inside for that matter!). However, we decided to give it a chance in spite of the ‘look’ of the place and I’m so glad we did! The food was delicious!!! We got our food to go, we got the Satae as an appetiser, Red chicken curry and green chicken curry and they were both delicious. Definitely a highly recommended place for some fantastic Thai Food and the portions were pretty big which means I can enjoy some more later tonight for dinner ;) With a bit of TLC, a coat of paint and a little money put in to the building, this place could earn a fortune! Top class!
