I prefer this place during the day. It is a little gloomy for me at night. Lunch or Happy Hour is fun here especially because of their outdoor patio. I have had lunch here a couple of times and it was a surprising experience. I always get the House salad. There is just the right amount of crunchiness for a hashbrown lover like myself to really enjoy each bite of the salad. It is also fun for happy hour! Great outdoor patio to people watch. For pieces to share I have had the chicken shots. They taste great and I like that they have honey an ginger sauce, they remind me sesame chicken. The warm pretzel is also yummy. They give you mustard sauce and a cheese sauce. The cheese sauce is my favorite.

Quality pub within close walking distance from the target center and target field. Good specials. Decent but not great food. Good for a couple hours before or after a game.

I’ve been coming to Kieran’s frequently for years. I like the food, the drink, and the atmosphere, but it is the staff that keeps me coming back.

Sat out on the patio tonight after a Twins game with a friend who i hadn’t seen in awhile. Was told by our server that the kitchen was closed, and that there was a Jimmy Johns next door if we wanted anything to eat. Decided to stay for a beer anyway since we had already walked 4 blocks to get here. Sat for 15 minutes waiting for our drinks to come. Our server finally comes out with another table’s drinks and sees us sitting there empty handed. She comes up and asks us what we ordered again. Completely forgot we were sitting there, and forgot that she had even taken our order in the first place. We then watched three tables sit down right next to us, and sure enough, food starts coming out to their tables. It all made sense when we paid our tab, and the server instantly starts packing her bags to go home. Too bad for her and the restaurant. My friend and I were both planning on having an appetizer and entrées with 4 or 5 rounds of beers, and we both always tip a minimum of 25% of our tabs. First time in my life I’ve ever stiffed a server. Won’t be back.

Love the pretzels and the cheese sauce. It surprised me. The drinks are great. Good Irish coffee! The fish and chips were very tasty and the tartar sauce is one of the best I’ve had. Very good, pleasant service.

First visit, I will go back and try again… A friend told me they had the best Reuben in town. I currently give that title to Mac’s Industrial Sports Bar. That said, I got a lunch Reuben. The server told me that was a half sandwich. If true, bring a snack, because that’s a tiny Reuben sandwich. No substitutions on the lunch menu, hope you like French fries. I need French fries like I need extra pennies, and despite the sea salt(code word for bullshit) claim, they are nothing special. But the advertise the shit out of them. Wonder who comes in ever week craving those? $ 9.50 for a?(2oz) shot of Jameson. Abusive at lunch time. I’m going to try the full Reuben next time and see if I can get a meal equivalent to Mac’s. Otherwise, it’s wort the time to travel 6 minutes north. Probable tourist trap for Target/Baseball goers. The Reuben was good.

Kieran’s is a staple for the work crowd in Downtown Minneapolis. Used to frequent them at their old location a long time ago but really like their new location pretty much in the heart of Downtown. Much easier to get to and nearby Target Field. In true pub style, they have Happy fhour daily from 11am-6pm, which is amazing! They have some good specials, mostly off their draft options and then $ 2 off appetizers. I am a big fan of 2 gingers so I normally am happy with a Big Ginger, which is made up of ginger ale and 2 gingers whiskey. They have a variety on tap along with a full bar. For food, it’s standard pub fare, I really like their pub pretzels with cheese and mustard dipping sauces and their sriracha flavored wings during Happy hour. This is a great spot to grab a drink and apps after a long day of work or great place to hang out before a Twins game. When the weather is nice, the outdoor patio area is always busy and is first come first serve. They also have a back area where you can host larger groups. Great spot to hang out and have a cold beer and enjoy some good eats

Love this place. Stopped by on the way to a Twins game. Excellent service — Sara our waitress recommended the curry dry rub wings. Hubby was a skeptic because he’s a wing snob. Both Sara and the wings did not disappoint! The wings were the best dry rub we’ve ever had and Sara was outstanding. Must find the recipe for the curry rub!!!

If you are near the Target Center, eat here. The place is massive, with outside seating also available. Great atmosphere, although it could use a few more TVs. The menu may appear small, but they have everything you would expect from an Irish pub, along with a few surprises. The beer list is extensive, as is the whiskey list. A short wine list, but quality wines. Amelia is a rockstar of a waitress.

I’ve been here a couple times throughout the years and have no been disappointed at any time. They have great food, an amazing bar staff and a beautiful patio in the summer! I’ve had drinks here often but recently actually had dinner and it was amazing! The food was fantastic and absolutely delicious! I had the Corned Beef Dinner, the only critique I have is that it didn’t have boiled cabbage! I love boiled cabbage with my corned beef! I was there with my boyfriend and my parents and they all loved their food too. I tried my Mum’s Squash Risotto and that was very flavorful and good! I will be coming here again easily to try more of their food, it was so hard to pick a dish as they had so many great looking options!

I don’t know if I was really hungry, or I just hit it on the perfect night? We went after a Twins game. I was dying for some fish and chips, and this place was right there. We sat down, it was quite noisy with quite a few intoxicated individuals, but it wasn’t terrible. I expected the atmosphere given the location. We were promptly greeted, and seated. Menus made me hungry for everything! I would love to go back and try the other Irish fair. I ordered he fish(cod) and chips, husband ordered a burger. My fish was outstanding. I loved it! My husbands burger wasn’t something he would get again, but he did have order envy when it came to my fish. I’m laying in bed, months later, pregnant and fantasizing about the fish… guess I will be making a trip there soon!

Their happy hours runs weird hours, but it’s just a few blocks from work so I can still manage to sneak over there for happy hour before it ends at 6. I’ve come here a few other times for team trivia and it’s decent for it, if a smaller crowd than some other trivia venues I’ve been to. I’m not a huge fan of their patio set-up but it’s a patio that’s downtown and that’s hard to come by — at least that’ll seat more than 2 – 4 people together. Average beer list, but surprisingly great food. Definitely get the bacon wrapped sausages and their house-made tots. I ended up ordering 2 orders of tots once because I just couldn’t stop. Fish and chips is a huge portion and a solid offering.

Oh Kierans, please never leave. This place is visually so magical. I like it best on a quiet night, sitting at the bar. They have several other rooms as well, which would be a blast to throw a party in! Otherwise, they pour a mean Guinness and I recently had the housemade tater tots with tomato chutney and nearly cried with joy. Get ‘um. They also have some great happy hour deals!

My short and slightly oxymoronic review of Kieran’s, by Keithan’s: The fact that it’s downtown Mpls: 2⁄5 The fact that it’s a bar that is not repulsive and it’s downtown: 5⁄5 Patio: 2⁄5. It’s a concrete slab with a shit load of wrought iron tables/chairs. Interior: 4/5+: Damn nice. Little heavy on the«hey we’re an Irish pub trying hard» but it’s nice. Food: 2⁄5 Looks good but under delivers. Drinks: 4⁄5(you get an extra star for not price gouging me given the location) Bar that I want to go to before a Twins game: 4⁄5 Bar that I want to go to any other time: 2⁄5

This place has a great patio to enjoy on sunny summer days, which is exactly what we did for lunch one Friday. They serve a great drink with two gingers — it’s so refreshing. I ordered a chopped chicken salad that was amazing, and huge. We had a very attentive server and enjoyed the bustling patio scene. When we returned to our hotel, which was located next door to Kierans, later in the afternoon the patio was once again jammed with happy hour patrons. This would be a definite favorite spot for me if I lived or worked in the city.

Stopped here before the baseball game and sat outside. It was very crowded and tough to get service, even after we stalked and nabbed a coveted table. Once we got the server’s attention, drinks were good … I had the Kieran’s version of the Moscow Mule, which surprisingly, came in a copper mug. My friends had beer. I think we got four drinks and one diet coke and the was $ 30. Solid spot to hang before the game.

Kieran’s Pub was a nice little lunch/dinner place with a stunning location. This pub is situated across the street from and right outside the doors of the Target Center where the Minnesota Timberwolves/Lynx play and many concerts are held… a block away from Target Field where the Twins play… and just walking distance from most of the downtown Minneapolis hotels. This location just kills… and the very large outdoor seating area makes for great people watching. When we went we had the lunch pot roast(3-stars…pretty tender but somewhat tasteless too… served sort of like BBQ sliders), the fish and chips(4-stars…nice light batter made for a light coating and the delicate fish inside showed they knew how to fry fish), and the Boca Negra for dessert(4-stars…very nice chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream — perfect for two). The beer selection here will satisfy most anyone… lots on tap and tons more in bottles. Full service bar for those that crave something else. There is often live music here(often with no cover), but we missed on the day we visited. This is a happening place when any of the sports teams are in town as the hotels fill up and Kieran’s livens up. Besides the large outdoor seating, they have a lot of room inside the pub… so regardless of weather you can enjoy yourself here. This place is also accessible via the Skyways Minneapolis has running throughout the downtown area connecting the buildings through the second floors. You can reach Kieran’s without going out side. Give this place a try… its a nice place to chill.

I recently spent a wonderful weekend in Minneapolis, and there’s no doubt that Kieran’s made this trip quite memorable. My friend and I stayed in the hotel next door, and were looking for live music and a friendly/relaxed bar scene where we could chill out for our Friday evening. We were so happy to learn that Kieran’s was right next door. It was perfect. We arrived around 8:45 just before the live music. Had a great seat. Enjoyed the crowd(which I would say is a little older). It was definitely my scene. We had great service, tried a few different dishes. A couple of different drinks. I enjoyed my Big Gingers of course, and the Irish Noir. We loved the live music. It was a perfect evening out. So perfect in fact, that we decided to do in again the following night. Hey, why not when such a great bar is just a two minute walk from your hotel? Arrived on Saturday around the same time. We managed to catch the end of the what-may-go-down-in-history-as-the-epic Wisconsin v. Kentucky semi-final game of March Madness. I’m not all that into Basketball, but Kieran’s big screen pulled me in. Of course we were waiting for the live music, so we whiled away the final 20 minutes of the game sipping drinks and sampling pub pretzels. This time we sat near the fireplace. It was cozy — the absolute perfect place to take a date if a date at a bar is your kind of thing. By the time we knew it, the band was in their second set, and it was nearing 1am… Honestly, I think this is my favorite bar ever. Friendly servers. A rather tame crowd. Great décor. Live music Friday and Saturday Perfect downtown location You know where I’ll be the next time I’m in Minneapolis!

My sister and I stopped here after a concert at Target Center. Stopped here after deciding not to pay a cover charge at Glueks. Door person checked ids and found out there was a band and no cover. I had to drive home 30 minutes away and drank water. Sis had 2 Big Gingers cocktails. The two bartenders were friendly as can be. They asked what brought us here and answered questions about Kieran and 2 Gingers Whiskey which I love. I did sip the cocktail and they dont skimp on booze. The band was alright and bathrooms clean. Next time I go to Target Center of field I want to eat here and have a Big Ginger or Irish Beer. Very welcomming, friendly and polite bartenders.

Order the salted nut roll cocktail! Trying to sip it to make it last. Great menu. Great atmosphere.
