The first exact thing that pissed me off was that it was $ 10 per a person, okay that’s fine. I had another person so I was paying $ 20 they automatically charged for my coat $ 2 and I had to break another $ 20 which is totally fine. So I gave her $ 40 and because I owed her $ 22 and she miscounted and I only received $ 7 back! I tried counting my money and everyone’s pushing me and by the time I realized She gave me the incorrect amount of my money I went back and she was gone!(yes she was the official person to pay to get in). Learn to do math correctly! You already make enough from everyone coming in, coat check, drinks and now the people at the front are«miscounting» people’s money as well. I tried finding the manager which is basically impossible, the bouncers didn’t have any way or communications with each other either which is really bad. When I went to talk to the bouncer he had no communications with the other bouncers, he was letting people in without paying unless they gave him money and took it for himself, not going to lie I didn’t even know if he was a bouncer or just a person standing there trying to get people’s money. This club mistake pisses me off, but it was nice for them to host an 18+ on a Saturday.

An utter garbage of a place. This story is frm last year, I was leaving earlier than my friends, so I gave my stub to get my jacket, they couldn’t locate it. So they told me to stand aside and wait for th ENTRE line to finish and then they’ll concentrate on me. Eff that! I said, «ma’am I can see it. It’s the brown leather jacket over there, and this is what is in the inside pocket for you do ensure it’s mine». She motioned the bouncers and I was escorted out. as it was snowing without a jacket! Then told to come back on a sunday or next Thursday/Friday when they open to get it. I came back twice, they were so packed they said they can’t go finding a jacket now. I haven’t been here since and I don’t intend to go to this stupid place, as they’ve literally stolen $ 200 from me at this point. Bunch of thieves and ignorant idiots.

I have been here a few times to hang out with some friends. This is a hit-and-miss place when it comes to drinks, customer service, and general environment. Of all the clubs in the Twin Cities, this place ranks in the bottom top half with quality and selection. To their advantage, I love the layout of the place. The interior looks beautiful! I love how they arranged the colors and the lights. This layout give a good ambiance for dancing and hanging out with friends. They have a good dance floor and a reasonable amount of tables for patrons to sit and hang out with friends. The employees, for the most part, keep the place clean and organized. I understand that there is a lot of alcohol involved in this place, which can lead to some unruly messes. The employees appear to do a great job at keeping an eye on those situations and at cleaning up those messes in a timely manner. Unfortunately, their drinks are a hit-and-miss. Sometimes, they are good. Sometimes, they are weak. It is hard to predict which end of the spectrum I am going to get. I have never once been served a drink that has made me say«wow». Unfortunately, there is not one bartender that stands out as the best of the place. Their customer service needs a lot of work. I will be lucky if a bartender says anymore than two words to me. Half of the bartenders I have encountered have been rude. The other half rate slightly lower than mediocre at best when it comes to interacting with the public. I get the impression that most of them do not want to be there, and it shows with their customer service. It is to the point to where I have felt intimidated just by ordering a drink. I have noticed them treating most of the other patrons the same way. In the future, when I am looking for a night out, I will not choose this place unless I have friends who insist. Unless some improvements are made with their drinks and customer service, I will continue preferring another bar or club over this one.

VIP here is a joke. You pay a couple hundred of dollars for them to bring you to the wrong table 3 times. We checked in at the door and had a girl take us to our section, we’ll first she took us to the back lower level section, which we did not pay for or want. Why would anyone pay for vip at aqua to be on the lower floor? Then she went back on her little tablet to find our section, and brought us up to a section where even the bouncers that checked our wristbands told us we were in the wrong section. Seriously? That’s twice, we’re irritated. We weren’t back downstairs, where she told us she’d check with the front and come back. She came back and led us to the same lower level vip section but one table over. We’re pissed because we’re not paying that much money to sit lower level at aqua but we’re done moving and following someone who doesn’t know what she’s doing or where she’s going. We’ve settled in, then we’re told our table is upstairs. Now, that’s more like it, considering we got a bigger package deal. 4 times. 4 times it was until she got it right. That’s about half an hour she wasted moving back and forth through the crowds there. Our table was not big enough for the amount of people we had but at this point, we don’t care. Our bottle service girl was great and had a upbeat personality. I like how quick they ate to replace and clean the cups. The bouncers on the other hand, have something stuck up their butts. Our section was not big enough for the amount of people we had, so we squeezed and the bouncers would tell us not to block the walk way. Are you serious? Have you seen how much space we’re dealing with? What a joke. They also told us to get off the ledge of the chair. How is anyone soar to have any fun with this. The club is PACKED in the dance floor, you can barely get through. Small dance floor. Very main stream music. I don’t recommend doing vip here.

The music and ambience was okay but the staff seemed quite unfriendly. Also the ice cream smoke vents were too close to face level the dance floor and it was difficult to breathe if its near you.

This is by far the nicest club in the metro area. They have a pretty dope light show, DJ’s are always on point and the drinks are yummy. They have the nicest staff of all the places in Minneapolis and that’s why it’s my go to spot when I’m feeling like some fun. Not sure what all these other people are talking about, I’ve not once had and issue.

Aqua was a decent clubbing option for Minneapolis. On an earlier Saturday night, the cover charge was $ 10 and the drinks were cheap. Be prepared to freeze in the coat check area. Energetic lighting and ambiance. Music was a mix of top 40s, older/newer hip-hop, and dance/pop. I suppose they had some amateur burlesque dancers to celebrate the release of Fifty Shades of Gray, which was slightly awkward at times, but I give Aqua extra points for creativity on Valentine’s Day. Dance floor was good and had a fun vibe. Bottom line: If you can’t resist the urge and wait for dancing in Vegas and need an option in Minneapolis to satiate your hunger for clubbing stat, I’d check out Aqua.

Horrible place. My friends were told they could invite anyone into their private section, but I guess the bouncers actually meant anyone with boobs. When they brought me up there I was asked to leave. When me and my friend started walking towards the door after that, I was grabbed from behind by a bouncer, and he tried to pull me back into the club, when I kept trying to walk towards the door, he threw me to the ground and called me a mother***ker. I ended my night in the emergency room at hcmc and now have a torn meniscus. Stay away at all costs!!!

Only one advice – DONOTCHECKCOAT. I checked in my coat on New Year’s Eve & when I went to get it they couldn’t find it. I called couple times for the next few days & no one answered. After a week someone responded & said they had my descriptive coat. I schedule to pick it up the next day but wanted to confirm before I went, but this time they couldn’t find my jacket. & they asked me to call the manager. I’ve been leaving msgs since than & no one has been returning my calls. In another words they are stealing your nice jackets!!!

I celebrated my Birthday here on a Sat. I had really higher expectation of Aqua’s VIP services. I have used their VIP service about a year ago and it was exquisite. So when I was trying to decide if I should reserve VIP at Aqua or Tangiers, I decided to go with Aqua since I celebrated my Birthday last year at Tangiers and celebrated my friend’s birthday at Tangiers a month ago. I will just tell my story here. Aqua is a nightclub that is only open Thu through Sun. One way to make your reservation is to reserve it online. So I did that on a Tuesday, I specified 10 people and requested them to call me to setup my section. I didn’t get any reply back from them. I was little worried, since all the plans were made for my group to be in the club. Here is a huge distinction between Aqua and Tangiers, a month ago, I called Tangiers to make a reservation, and I got a phone call back in less than 24 hours. It was as smooth as a baby’s butt. Anyway to stay on the subject, I didn’t get any call or confirmation and it was already Thursday, so I called the number around 11 am and left a voice mail, since I didn’t get any reply on that I called around 4 pm again, no answer. Anyway I did get a call back around 8 pm from the club. I told him we have 10 people, and we would like to be upstairs by the balcony. He told me he knows exactly what I mean. So we confirmed the reservation and I was relaxed. On Sat night after the dinner, I showed up with my friends around 10:30 pm. A young lady put wrist bands and took us to our table. She was professional but I wish she was little more upbeat since she is working at a night club in VIP section. Anyway, I was shocked to find out the table or section I was given was even hardly big enough for 5 people(it was table #5). It was by the balcony, but just way to small for the crowd. Now, I told my waitress that and between her and I, we made few trips up and down the stairs to let the lady up front know that. I was hoping that they will realize that table #5 is really not for a group of 10. It almost seemed like she was powerless to fix the situation. She said she will look into it. She came in later, and asked me if I want to get in the back of the upstairs. I didn’t. Then I pointed to another section and she said that section is open, and I can take left or right, so I choose left. The bottles came, the drinks started to get flowing and we are getting happy… too soon? Another waitress came and started to move us to the back, remember the place where I didn’t want to be? I asked her what’s happening? She said, we can’t sit here because this is reserved. Wait! What? I also reserved something in this club, I know it can’t be the back or that chicken coup we had in the beginning. So here we go again, down the stairs, out the door, in front of the«VIP guest service host», looking for a resolution. She said, there is a bachelors party of 10(TEN???) people that has that section, both table. Wait, I have a party of 10, why did I get only half of that section? Either we Asians are small and slim(thank you) or you got a party of 10FAT people. Either way, how to solve this. At this point, Steve is on the scene. He is the«Boss guy». He looks at iPad asks questions and stuff. I asked my server is he the person that can fix this. she nods yes. I told him, give me a place where me and my friends can move and enjoy the night and I am not looking for any special discount. Well, this is how he fixed it, without boring my mind thinking about it. He said we have to be where we are at at least till midnight. There is another party that suppose to come and hasn’t showed up yet, if they don’t, we will get their booth. Is it something what I was looking for, NO. But I don’t have much options for the night. But you know what F***-it. I will just not give my business to them next time. To make the matter worse, our server was missing in action most of the night. Here is what I have to say, I know their service was not this horrible in the past. I have used their VIP service and I was very impressed. As their service started to take a nose dive, their competitors, Tangiers seems to get better and nicer. Good thing that we had a group of hyper and happy go lucky kind of people, so we made it a good night despite the horrid service. I will just stay away from this place till I hear otherwise from people I know. I am not into paying money for bad service. Thanks.

This club sucks! The bouncers are rude, drinks yuk and music is shit !! They sell tickets for events and then impose couple entry rules at their whims and wishes!

I’ve met great people and the DJ’s actually know how to transition smoothly from one song to the next. They play what the crowd wants versus what they think the crowd wants. That is why I enjoy this place!

Don’t waste your money on NYE. A $ 55VIP cover charge gets you a 10×10 area with no tables to stand in. And garbage to listen to. Refund!

We came here in a weeknight and rented out the club. The music and atmosphere were great. My low rating stems from the severely lacking coat check procedure. Checking in our coat was fine. When the venue closed and it was time to check out our coats, the club had no clue how to deal with the expectedly large crowd. Of course people will bring coats when it is fall in Minneapolis. But when it takes well over an hour to retrieve said coat, I cannot recommend the experience to any other Minneapolis visitors or locals. Truly an unfortunate night out.

Went for a friends birthday and was definitely not impressed. We were in VIP but they tried to stop people in our party at the door saying they weren’t wearing the right shoes– Really? Service was poor and won’t be back.

Let’s just say I used to go to Aqua every now and then during my «yay I just turned 21 — I am going to go out as much as humanly possible» phase! Thank goodness I am passed that phase now! If you are strictly looking for somewhere to get all glammed up for a girl’s night out, or you just want to let loose on the dance floor, then this place isn’t awful! It’s a top 40 dance club; you know what you’re getting into. This means you put on your tiniest dress, highest heels and a strapless push-up-bra. No sneakers or baggy pants allowed! Fellas wear an Ed Hardy shirt if you have one! This place gives you full freedom to be trashy –however most of the people there think that they put the«C» in class! Since I always get handed those free entrance vouchers and I have friends that work in the downtown entertainment industry, I’ve never paid for cover there, but then again I probably wouldn’t go there unless I got in for free etc… Looking beyond the dance scene… The VIP area doesn’t have a bathroom, so doing the whole«girls go to the bathroom all at once, even if you don’t have to go» thing gets kind of old after a while(lame I know!!). Their VIP is full of regulars /Bar-Stars! Ya know, the people who are well connected but outside of partying, they really don’t have any«true» friends and feel the need to be VIP to prove that they are somebody(not everyone, but the majority). There is also a handful of wanna-be rappers/musicians who won’t make it past YouTube — 40 year old guys who can’t get past their bachelor stage of life — promoters & the young hot girls looking for a potential sugar daddy(wrong place girls)! I guess you could say that this is the typical MNVIP dance club scene. The VIP bottle/server girls seem to have huge ego’s and only give service worth tipping for, to the fellas! Long story short — it’s a fun place to let loose on the dance floor, if that’s what your heart is set on! A place where it’s important to look classy, yet you are expected to act Jersey Shore trashy. Lol — my heart goes out to all the under 21 year olds that don’t have many options when it comes to night/club life! *There’s a reason why the three stars and up reviews are based on events held there and not on the typical club night!
