I picked up some take out food for me and a friend and I was pretty disappointed with the experience overall. We ordered the red curry with chicken and pumpkin curry, and fresh spring rolls; I was not happy with any of them. The curries were both excessively heavy and oily, and the spring rolls were a little rubbery, as though they had been sitting for a little longer than they should have. Also, if you like your food extremely spicy, as I do, you have to emphasize that to them, otherwise they’ll under spicy it. Couple positive notes, though I did find their prices a little high, they give you a large quantity of food; we made four meals out of our two curries. And the service I received overall was fine.

The food was not very good. There was tofu in the pad Thai with chicken, gross, why would you eat tofu if you eat chicken? It’s like weird little gelatin blobs in your food. We also had spring rolls and cream cheese wontons and peanut curry. The only thing we liked was the wontons.

This review is only based on Amazing Thailand’s Happy Hour since that’s really the only time I ever go there. I’ve had plenty of friends order off the menu and let me try their food but I usually only ever come her for their HH specials. Amazing Thailand has been around for years. When we first discovered this place, the HH specials were amazing: $ 3, $ 4 drinks and apps. Over the years, the specials have gotten slightly more expensive and portions slightly smaller. But compared to other HH specials in Uptown, it’s still not a bad choice. I would gladly choose to come here over other restaurants in the area based on their HH. The location is right in the heart of Uptown and the atmosphere has a good vibe: young, hip, and fun. If you’re a basketball fan, they usually have games showing during the season. As far as the food on the menu, I think the food not bad but not great either. The price point is a little high for what you get so that’s why I rarely order off the menu. Parking is a little challenging since it is Uptown area. Be prepared to pay for meter parking.

I came here a couple times so far, and wouldn’t mind coming back again. This place is not super authentic, but it doesn’t mean it’s bad. I usually get the pineapple fried rice when I come here. I know it’s not a authentic dish to begin with, but hey I love ordering it! I just love the idea of nuts, raisins, and pineapples in fried rice. So good. This place does it pretty good. The only complaint, is it’s no where at the spice I would like it at. I always have to ask for more hot sauce. I also ordered their chicken wings, and it has 3 different sauces you can try. I recommend paying extra and getting all 3. They all taste pretty good. The environment is okay. Not super great if you want to talk and have conversation with friends. It gets quite loud and it’s very dark here. Overall, this place is not bad, but do expect a wait when you come here, especially on a Friday night or weekend.

It was a bit frustrating in the beginning because when we got there, we were told to «just wait a second» and then proceeded to watch groups that came in after us being seated. The counter up front is a bit disorganized because they have several different people all checking people in while taking phone calls of take-out, so it makes sense that we were forgotten(tear). Once we had our table though, we were not disappointed in the slightest. Our server was friendly and attentive, and our food didn’t take long to arrive at all. The wontons(6) were delectable… crispy yet filled with a hearty portion of cream cheese. Three of us split the pineapple curry, which seemed pricey at first at $ 13.95 but it was a large portion and curbed our hunger for the time being. This is definitely a dish I would get again, though everything that people had around us I want to try now too. The cashews and curry in our meal were not overpowering, but gave it great flavor, and the chunks of pineapple added a nice sweetness. It’s a cool ambiance that also offers a great happy hour until 6pm. Can’t wait to come back!

Service to get seated was a little sketchy to start the night. They really need to make sure the staff handling the take out orders is different from staff seating people because the chaos ended up with the staff seating others ahead of us. Once finally seated the food did not disappoint. If you like lots of crispy dough to your wontons, this is the place. Full of a large pocket of super creamy cream cheese you get an order of six. We split an order of pineapple fried rice. It was delicious, full of large chunks of pineapple, lots of cashews, just a sprinkle of raisins, and enough curry to taste but not overpower. Although the price seems high at $ 13.95, it is a dish to share. Every meal around us looked like something we would want to try. The staff was attentive, and the bartender was very friendly. We will be back to try what looks to be a great happy hour offer!

We love coming to Amazing Thai! Food is always good and it’s such a nice bonus to be able to pick the spice level(1 – 5) of the food. Food is priced reasonably for the portions you get, but drinks are a little pricey. Overall it’s a really nice place with great food and great atmosphere!

I stopped into Amazing Thailand with Leah G. for dinner on a Saturday night with another friend. Amazing Thailand was pretty amazing. We stopped in around 4:30 so we order off both the Happy Hour menu and the dinner menu. Atmosphere: The restaurant décor is really cool. They have a painted umbrella room where we sat. The ceiling is covered with these delicate umbrellas and creates a very soothing mood. Happy Hour: +Pork Egg Rolls: These were really good. They were served with a peanut sauce which I didn’t like as much, but I dipped them in sweet and sour sauce. +Fried Squid: The calamari was average. I wasn’t very impressed and most likely wouldn’t order again. It was very plain and served with a sweet and sour sauce +Cream Cheese Wantons: How can you go wrong with an order of these? Also served with a sweet and sour sauce Entrees: +Pad Thai: This was good! It was a very traditional Pad Thai, but better than Noodles & Company. The crunch bean spouts top off the flavor of the entire dish. +Rainbow Combination Stir Fry with Chicken: This was AMAZING. It comes with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, bell peppers, onion, cabbage, baby corn, mushrooms, green beans and tomato. We then added chicken. The sauce that it was tossed in was perfectly salty. The assortment of veggies were also cooked to perfection, crisp but not too tough or soft. Service: Our server was very nice and split the check for us! Our food came out very very fast! I’m excited to go back and try their curry! If you’re stopping in for dinner, I would recommend getting in early because it gets very busy.

I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences here!!! First of all, you actually feel like you’ve stepped into Thailand when you enter the restaurant. The staff are always very friendly and I’ve never had to wait to be seated. They even have a small area for outdoor seating with unique tables. The happy hour is great if you get a few different appetizers. They have it every day(including Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 4 – 6). The shrimp spring rolls and jalapeño cream cheese wontons are delicious and two of my favorites. I suggest getting a side of their red curry sauce with the spring rolls as an extra dipping option. Another thing I really love about this place is the option to select your level of spice on a scale of 1 to 5 for each menu item. I usually opt for a 3 or 4. The menu has a large variety of items from stir frys to noodle dishes to fried rice. I have tried the pad Thai, green curry, red curry and one of the noodle dishes. I have yet to be disappointed one bit. Everything is served fresh and steaming hot. The portions are huge and I definitely would recommend sharing a dish with someone else!!! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Uptown and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I used to come for the lunch buffet, which was great. Now they do not offer it anymore!!! to be clear: THEYNOLONGEROFFERTHEPRIORLUNCHBUFFETANDNOONLYDOOFFMENU. which is unfortunate, because service is typically slow, the food is generic, and otherwise not worth the price point when I can go get Thai food that is much more authentic for a better price, and it tastes much, much better while people are nicer and have better quality ingredients– in my opinion,

This is my favorite thai restaurant second to my moms of course(love you mom!). Here’s what to order so you look like you know what you’re doing –Papaya salad(Lao style, authentic AF, not recommended to those who never had a very pungent/fermented flavor)) –Lab Gai(chicken or tofu) –Lad nah(with beef) –Fishermans coconut(swim in my belly delicious) –Thom ka gai(thai coconut chicken soup aka straight up crack in a bowl) –Pineapple fried rice –Jalepeno cream cheese wonton and calamari Of course all their dishes are really flavorful and delicious. Oh get this all specialty drinks are 50% off are thursday(its strong, brace yourselves). The reason for not being 5 stars is the service is hella slow. So go during the weekdays or bring something to snack on while you wait for your food. BUT its worth the wait, so I will wait for you forever Amazing Thailand. Joop!

Our family had a great time enjoying cream puff won tons, spring rolls and Thai beef salad to start. For our main entrees we had seafood sizzler, pa Thai and pumpkin curry.

Pretty darn good food. I really can’t give the most in depth review as I’ve been here only two times and have ordered exactly the same thing. I’m a creature of habit so once I find something I like I rarely stray off the familiar path. I ordered the green curry with chicken. The curry sauce is great with an awesome flavor I can never seem to replicate myself at home. It comes with just a ton of chicken that just seem to melt in your mouth. Along with the protein, it is piled high with those mini corn cob things, peppers and onions. It is served with a side of rice which I will always immediately throw into the sea of green curry goodness. My favorite part is eating the rice that is completely saturated with green curry sauce. Something I really appreciated was how the server will ask how spicy you prefer your meal on a scale from 1 – 5(5 being the spiciest) They recommend a 3 if you enjoy spice. Naturally, I ordered the 4. I wanted to let them know like hey I like spicy food more than the average guy but I don’t want to challenge you and say 5 where you feel you have a point to be made. I think I made a great call, I was sweating by the second bite. Curry should be enjoyed accompanied by sweat, tears, and a burning asshole the next morning. That curry was on point for all three. I only give it 4 stars because I have had better curry out in the big vast world. It was pretty darn good but it was not the best. I am excited to go back, I do think I will eventually go out of the box and try something new… maybe the red curry.

Food: 4⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Cleanliness: 4⁄5 Décor & Style: 4⁄5 Only had snacks and drinks here, and the fried squid was pretty good. Didn’t try anything else so can’t really judge much of the food. In terms of décor and style, the inside is somewhat outdated and a little boring. Outside, however, has some originality, at least here in the US. The patio is in an alley way between two buildings which reminds me of the urban Asia feel, great place to chill. See the pictures.

Came here with a party of 15 for a bachelorette party. Since I use to work in the restaurant industry, so I know that, that can get very stressful. Our service sucked. I don’t think we were that much of a hassle especially since we all didn’t order all at once, we ordered 3 seperate times, each after the other orders were out. I ordered the combination pad see iew, and it was AMAZING. Best thing I ate all day. Though, I didn’t get the combination pad see iew, for some reason I ended up with the seafood pad see iew, which was fine, she must of put it in wrong(even though my receipt said combination…). It was still delicious. I also got the golden pumpkin appetizer. The condensed milk definitely helps the bland taste. It also has a very bitter aftertaste. Food here is also on the pricier side as well. Food here is good, service here could use a little help.

I went here while on the dull-as-the-toast-I-couldn’t-eat«soft food» diet after spraining my tempromandibular joint. Fun fact: if you naturally clench your jaw under stress you can clench it so hard and so often that you actually sprain your dumb jaw. However, I wasn’t letting that nonsense rob me of one of the few fun nights I could manage last month, so off to meet my book club I went! Most of the menu was out for me, because noodles are chewy and haha nope. I settled on the salmon and mashed pumpkin, because yay mushy food! And you know what? I really liked it! I love pumpkin and will prioritize stuffing my face with it over regular ol’ potatoes. I didn’t have the side salad with it because leafy greens were also vigorously denied by my dentist, so all I know is the salmon and especially the pumpkin was delicious. I need to go back now that my jaw is healed for the rest of the menu! The cocktails also seemed lovely, and I’d love to try more of them. As a side note, there is no parking lot, and finding parking in Uptown reminds me again and again why I’m so glad I don’t live there anymore. Ughhhhhhhh.

Thai food can be hit or miss, this place definitely hit the mark! At least with the food… I began the night with a glass of Angry Orchard Cider. It was one of the largest glasses I’ve seen in a while. One of my friends got a fishbowl special. I had a sip and it was a pretty strong drink. Their drink selection is pretty decent. The menu is very extensive, offering a wide selection of options pad thai to traditional thai curries. Our party ordered a large portion of Tom Yum soup which was served in a large hot pot style vessel. It was a very nice presentation and the soup tasted very authentic. I chose the Massaman curry as my main dish. This was the first thai place that I had to choose my spice level. I chose a 4, It was very tasty, but had a bit too many peanuts. I think I’ll try the Panang curry next time. The atmosphere was nice. Great outdoor space and some pretty authentic decorations on the walls. However, I will note that I did see a cockroach crawling along the curtains on the window near by… hence the loss of a few stars. I heard that this place offers a decent lunch buffet with a good spread of some traditional thai fair. But I’m hesitant to test it given the potential pest control issues they may have.

My bf wanted Thai, so I chose Amazing Thailand. I’d been here before and enjoyed it. We came in later in the evening, so there was no wait. Service was polite but a little bit slow. We split the combination stir fry with combo meats(beef, chicken, and pork) and chicken green curry, from the servers recommendation. Of course, I wanted it spicy but we had to tone it down becuase we were sharing and he can’t handle my level of spicy. They brought out a little spicy tray for me though. The combination stiry fry was very good, I liked it better than the curry but both were good. They wouldn’t let him substitute the white rice for fried, even with an upcharge, saying that they don’t do that, which is unfortunate. Foos came out pretty slowly especially considering how not busy the restaurant was. Bathrooms are interesting, lots of options! Haha :) I lvoed that they had 90s throwback hip hop playing in the restaurant.

Well there’s better thai food in Minneapolis that is for sure but this place has some flair. It’s very unique and feels like a thai restaurant you would actually stumble upon In Thailand. The lighting is dim and the entire place is pretty dark inside. It’s a little more intimate. The food is ok. We split the Thai basil dish and added chicken. It was mostly beans and was light on the protein. I think next time I would order extra meat or add another meat to the dish. The service was amazing! I’m so glad to see mpls still has a few places that go above and beyond. We sat at the bar and the bartender was so attentive and on his A game. Would come back simply bc the service was soo good! Also, probably not ok, but if you park in the ramp and are a la fitness member… Stop in and get your parking validated:) free parking… Save $ 11 :)

Some days their food is Ah-mah-zing and some days it is Un-amazing…I guess it depends on who the chef is. The location is perfect because it is in the heart of uptown. Looking for parking might not be easy, try to find one around residential area. You won’t miss the place since they have a big neon sign of the restaurant. When you walk in, you notice to the left there is high top tables and a bar, to the right there’s regular seating. There is a private section for small birthdays/parties. Their bathroom is all the way in the back, make sure you don’t walk into their kitchen:) Last time I ordered a meal from this place was their Pad See Yew(I think that’s the correct spelling). It is really good! I highly recommend it. Normally, I come here for their all day Tuesdays happy hour because I enjoyed their spring rolls and chicken wings a lot, especially their curry sauce. It is a good spot for people watching as well, I think. I find it amusing when people bring their dates to this place because it is not romantic at all. More for hangouts. Great service as always. Get to the know the bartenders, they are very cool!
