Can here regularly since they opened. Used to feel like walking into the set if Cheers because everyone greeted you and knee your name but now the customer service and quality of food went down hill. Ordered fries but they were over cooked and requested lighter fries only for three owner to curse under her breath, throw my box of food in the trash and have an attitude. I got my money back and I won’t be returning again.

Really good breakfast and friendly service. Simple ambience with home cooked food and low prices. Their sandwiches are really yummy too. Definitely recommend for a casual, quick, and tasty breakfast or lunch. Milton needs more locally owned restaurants like this place.

The food was good, I had a veggie omelet, it was a little on the salty side, I’d prefer to salt my own food to taste. A decent selection of hot sauces and the servers were nice. For a place named Scratch, I’d expected to see some fresh squeezed orange juice, and they got some whipped soybean spread in small containers rather than fresh butter. Also those nasty creamers at the self-serve coffee station, there’s no reason not to have pitchers of cream or half and half. It would be good if they could address the acoustics, lots of echo. Also, for an order at the counter restaurant, the food was a little pricy.

Had scratch Benedict and it was delicious. It’s like eggs Benedict only over a home made brisket. Hope to go there again before we leave.

Went for breakfast and food was alright, not many healthy options though. The set up was order first then sit, not a fan without a hostess because people were almost fighting for a table. When we finally got a table we had to ask someone to clean, so not a great experience for us.

THERETURN! Several years ago, I tried Scratch Fresh when they first opened in their former location. At the time I was neither impressed with the food nor the cramped space. However, enough time had passed and I was ready for a re-visit. My son and I visited for breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised by the new space. It is very spacious and comfortable and has a cute shaded patio out front. You have the option of casual table seating or booth seating. The booth tables are movable, so seating is comfortable. I love the large hanging menu that greets you as you enter the restaurant. We were greeted by friendly faces and allowed plenty of time to review the menu and place our order. I decided to go with my personal favorite: french toast with turkey sausage while my son ordered his usual plate of pancakes. I was really more interested in how my husband liked his pancakes and they definitely passed the test. I was shocked that he was only able to eat three because he usually requires a double order in order to feel full. According to him, his pancakes were delicious and filling. I enjoyed my french toast which was well seasoned,(nice blend of spices) and perfectly prepared. The turkey sausage was flavorful and not greasy/fatty at all. I am really glad that I gave them another chance because they really delivered and now I have a new option for breakfast! WINNING!!! ***Good food! ***Comfortable and casual space! ***Great employees! ***Food delivered in a timely manner!

This place has a pretty large menu. Kinda reminds me of Red Eyed Mule in Marietta where they are only open for half the day. They serve breakfast until noon and then after that you have burgers, sandwiches, and salads until 230pm. This time I went with the burger. Their burger menu is similar to Five Guys. Their standard burger is a double and then you have a large selection of free veggie toppings you can add to it. Cheese and protein toppings are extra. The burger taste very fresh and you can tell they aren’t using any frozen meats(*cough* smashburger). The pattie are hand-formed and fairly good size; maybe slightly bigger than a 1/3lb pattie. The burger wasn’t greasy and didn’t leave me feeling too heavy. Fries were ok. Nothing special. My meal came in under $ 9(didn’t get cheese or bacon)

My biggest issue is that they don’t have a host/hostess stand with a waiting list. There’s not enough seating to accommodate the amount of customers. When we arrived all indoor seating was occupied. The girl behind the register suggested we sit outside, and this didn’t sound comfortable right at about 50 degrees. She said she would open an umbrella on the patio. I guess I haven’t seen these new heated umbrellas that are on the market. Shark tank? We opted to wait for a couple to leave who was finishing up. I guess my biggest concern is what happens if you’re food is ready and there’s no seating inside and it’s cold outside. What is one supposed to do? The girl who took our order commented our food would be up soon, and I requested they hold the order until we could find a table. She didn’t seem thrilled, but that problem shouldn’t be passed on to the consumer. What you’re telling me is «It’s kind of a gamble whether or not you’ll have a table to eat at when you’re food is up.» Get a wait list. Anyways, the food was decent. I decided to have a biscuit breakfast. I got a basic Country Biscuit, Sausage and Gravy Biscuit, and Pimento Cheeseburger Biscuit. Pimento Cheeseburger biscuit was unique and tasty. It’s a heavy choice for breakfast. Got a side of bacon, not impressed. Too greasy and flimsy. Reminded me of heat-lamp bacon. Near the end of our meal we found ourselves comparing it to Waffle House. Take what you want from that comment, that’s just the comparison we found ourselves making when we were through with the meal. Don’t plan to go back. Too many options in Alpharetta, and I don’t care for the seating system here. I don’t mind waiting, but it’s just kind of a free for all with the current setup. We wanted to order together and not have someone go hover around a table, passive aggressively telling a party we want their table as they are finishing up their meal. Also, sometimes people want to chat or catchup when they’re done eating.

I really enjoyed this restaurant! I came here for the first time around 1pm on Sunday. They serve breakfast all day Sunday, which I really like, but I believe they are only open til 2pm. During the week, they serve breakfast til noon. Here you would order your food at the front counter and then they would bring the food out to you. I ordered an omelet with Roasted Red Peppers, Artichokes, and Onions with American Cheese. The omelet was fantastic! We ordered a side of hash browns. Usually I love hash browns, but these were so dry and tasteless. They desparately needed some salt or pepper or butter maybe? If you wanted to add cheese, it’s an additional $ 1.50. In my opinion, that price is too high for a slice or two of cheese. I think this is a great resturant for the whole family especially if you are looking for a quicker breakfast resturant.

This place is ok. The first time we went, we really liked it, but subsequent visits leave me unsatisfied so probably won’t return. They do have very good milkshakes, but I don’t like the fact that everything, including the coffee, is served in plastic. The breakfast is ok. Nothing spectacular, but it’s always crowded so people must like it. I personally don’t like their eggs at all. They do have omelettes and country gravy, but they don’t serve cream cheese for your bread. I’d be willing to try it again if they’d improve the breakfast and stop serving coffee in plastic.

If your looking for the best breakfast place in GA, then scratch any other place out of your mind. Scratch Fresh is the epitome of southern hospitality. While enjoying a girls trip, me and my ladies were looking for a great breakfast spot that served great biscuits, and well Scratch Fresh did not let us down. And actually it was so good we dined here 2 days in a row. When we walked into Scratch Fresh, I fell in love immediately. The smell that greets you when you walk in the door is so warm and welcoming. The menu is big and there is so much to choose from and nothing on the menu will hurt your wallet. Let’s start at the beginning: the food here is amazing, maybe amazing is an understatement, how about magnificent. The 1st day I ordered grits, turkey sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese and of course a biscuit, all made to perfection. And on the 2nd day I had the Brisket Biscuit with cheese. And let me tell you something that brisket was off the chain. And I’m still thinking about that tender delectable brisket a month later. That brisket was the best brisket I’ve ever had, better than KBQ, Famous Dave’s and any other BBQ place I’ve been to. My girlfriends ordered the Chicken & Waffles, Turkey Sausage, Egg & Cheese biscuit & the Chipotle Eggs Benedict. And that darn Chipotle Hollandaise was like crack. I even had to order a side of the Chipotle Hollandaise just so that I could add it to my grits, Mmmmmmm, freaking delicious. Now let’s talk about these made from scratch biscuits. They’re like soft pillows of buttery goodness that your grandma would make. So light and fluffy and addictive and warm and just plain heavenly!!! The customer service here was superb!!! The 1st day we dined here we met Lane & Ashley. They greet you with a smile, ask you your name and make you feel like you’re a regular. The 2nd day we walked into Scratch Fresh, Lane greeted me and my ladies all by our 1st names– customer service at it’s best. On our 2nd day enjoying our breakfast, I was conversing with Lane telling him that my girls and I had come to GA from DC to visit our friend who had moved to Smyrna and letting him know that this would be our last breakfast at Scratch Fresh. I had also mentioned that it was my friends birthday and while we were finishing up our breakfast, the owner, Ms. Kelly, came over and gave the bday girl a humongous slice of peanut butter pie, which might I add was like soft & velvety and purely sinful in a good way. Kelly welcomed our bday girl to area and let her know that she is welcome to come by Scratch Fresh anytime and they will keep her company. All in all, Scratch Fresh is a wonderful spot for breakfast or for lunch, so reasonably priced and the best darn food PERIOD!!! Big shout-out to Lane for showing us ladies how they do it here down in the south. Ms. Kelly you rock and hopefully we will see you all again sooner rather than later because now I’m craving a Brisket Biscuit… Uuughhh. So walk in, run in, roll in on your skates, just make sure you taste what Scratch Fresh is cookin’!!!

Wowza. An unassuming place. Put your order in at the counter, sit down, and eat some of the best French Toast out there. As a self labelled French Toast connoisseur I have to say that their simple version was better than many of the glorified versions. My group had different breakfast versions of the fried chicken which were all also outstanding. If I lived here I would be back to try everything!

This place is incredible. No fuss, no muss, just delicious home cooked food at an affordable price. While visiting from DC, I was searching for a biscuit breakfast and we found this place on Unilocal.Thank you Unilocalers! I found my favorite neighborhood breakfast spot. The name says it all — food made from scratch(with a dash of love). Everything we ordered was outstanding. So good we came back for breakfast again the next day! I got a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit(with another biscuit on the side) and the next day I got the platter: grits, biscuit, and eggs. Did I mention that the biscuit are like crack? Light, fluffy, and piping hot. Perfection. My friends got some incredibly tasty dishes too — Chipotle Eggs Benedict on a biscuit(addictive sauce), Chicken & Waffles(crispy chicken, hearty waffles), and Brisket Biscuit(barely needed to chew, the brisket was so tender). We got extra biscuits of course(did I mention they are crack?). If the food doesn’t persuade you to try Scratch, come for the customer service. Lane and Ashley took our orders and brought the food. They were sweet, helpful, and treated us as if we were regulars. The owner, Kelly, checked on all the tables to say hi and to ensure that everyone was pleased. Boy, were we! She bowled us over by giving my friend(who just moved to the area) a piece of peanut butter pie as a Welcome gesture.(Side note, the PB pie was out of this world! Silky, sweet, and light. Our four friends fought over that quarter of a pie!) Overall, you have to try this place! Any breakfast special, biscuits, PB pie, friendly service, and it won’t break your bank! Run, don’t walk… I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

This place is sooooo worth the hype! Great food, great service, period. And an added bonus, it won’t break the bank. Everything I want from a go-to breakfast spot. Which this now is. I came here for breakfast while visiting from DC. Such a great experience that we returned the next day! On 2 consecutive visits I had great food and great service. First, the food. The biscuits are so light and fluffy it was like a pillow of buttery goodness. Whatever you order, get a biscuit too. Seriously. The Chipotle Eggs Benedict was awesome. Served on a biscuit instead of English muffin(brilliant!) with ham, perfectly poached eggs, and this chipotle hollandaise sauce to die for! I could put that ish on everything! Also the Chicken & Waffles were dope. Flavorful chicken tenders on top of fluffy waffles. Yum! My friend’s grits were on point and so was the Brisket Benedict. Next, the service. The cashiers Lane and Ashley were friendly, helpful, and quick. When my sister’s dish was delivered with an unexpected ingredient(she doesn’t eat bacon) they were quick to swap it for another order and refund her the difference. But perhaps the sweetest of all was the owner Kelly. She came out to check on us, chatted, and even gave my friend a piece of peanut butter pie as a welcome to the neighborhood. How sweet! And rare these days too. P. S. That PB pie though! OMG it was delicious! There’s a wide range of people eating here, from college kids to families with young children, from blue and white collar workers to elderly couples. Not loud but definitely bustling with a nice homey vibe. It is like stepping back in time or maybe into a Cheers episode. I can’t wait to go back and see my new BFFs… them biscuits!

Overall disappointed with the experience, particularly the bacon… it tasted like it had even deep fried in a nuclear plant then placed in cat litter before serving. I usually rate my eating experience compared to how I cook. I’m no iron chef, but a child using an easy bake oven would blow the socks off this place. Why are there even people here, they must usually eat from a garbage dump.

I’ve had Scratch 3 times — twice taking out and once in-restaurant — and it’s been really great every time. This is another example of simple goodness. The menu is very straight forward, very uncomplicated, but the ingredients and combinations are solid. The ambiance has a nice feel — somewhere between a diner and small town café; though I suppose that’s what it is. It’s a small space in an inconspicuous shopping center. Even when it’s very busy, there is space to move around and it’s not too loud which I appreciate. The staff looks a little like a bunch of bikers, but they are very nice and will get you anything you need at the drop of a hat. They move with a purpose too. I’ve seen plenty of kitchen and wait staffs which appear bothered by having to do their jobs. These folks really work. Every time I’m there, they are quick and work as a team to get things done. It’s a minor point, but again, I appreciate that. On to the food: I’ve had the chicken and waffles, the Scratch burger with hash browns, and the pancakes and sausage. The chicken and waffles were great! Big, fluffy waffle with 3 healthy sized pieces of tender fried chicken. I wanted more when I was done. The burger was really good too. 2 patties with cheese on standard bun. Again, simple, but good. I’ve spent double the price at other places for a far inferior product. The hash browns are very similar to Waffle House except not as greasy. If you like that style, you’ll like them. If you don’t, you won’t. The pancakes were above average — fluffy and light, but they need a little extra like syrup or preserves. I like my pancakes a like more buttery so that was my only drawback. The sausage patties were above average as well — preformed and probably prepackaged, but on the higher end of quality. I think I spent 7 bucks so I’m not complaining. Their best item might be their biscuits. I understand why their name is Scratch fresh. The biscuit recipe is so good! And they’re always really fresh and fluffy. Honestly, they’re some of the best biscuits you can find. We usually bring home a healthy portion of them. The prices can’t be beat. 2 people can eat comfortably for around $ 20. I realize breakfast is generally cheaper, but it’s still a serious bargain. You’re practically paying fast food prices for a real breakfast. If you’re in the Alpharetta area or GA400 corridor or Hwy 9, check it out for breakfast or lunch. Worth it! I’ll be back there soon. I still haven’t tried their milk shakes which look really good and are supposed to be excellent.

The verdict is in… We like Scratch!!! I found a great new spot in Alpharetta that sales breakfast food from open to close(even though the sign say’s differently, I ordered a breakfast plate beyond noon). A co worker came in from lunch last week and told us about this spot, so I bookmarked it and we decided to try them out today. At first I was overwhelmed just looking at the huge menu banner… So many options, so little time. I ended up ordering breakfast food(you can never go wrong with breakfast). I ordered the 2 egg breakfast which came with 2 eggs made your way, toast or biscuits, hash browns or grits for under $ 6(2.79 to add any breakfast meat). My co workers went in another direction, one ordered a patty melt on wheat with onion rings, the other one ordered a chicken philly with fries. Everyone was happy with their choices. I didn’t get the name of the gentleman that waited on us, but he did a fantastic job, checked on us often and explained what was included in the«special sauce«He was polite, and funny!!! Everyone was polite, the cooks even yell out to us, wanted to make sure the food was good… I responded by holding up my empty plate. Ha, Ha. Ha. They are only open for breakfast and lunch so I will definitely be back for lunch, I want to try a patty melt. Great find and a great addition to the area.

Nothing like a little hole in the wall place for brunch! My friend and I were visiting from out of town and we were pleasantly surprised at how awesome our food and service was here. We split 2 of the specials: fried chicken biscuit smothered with sausage gravy and the French toast with sausage! Both were excellent. We ate around noon and the restaurant was serving burgers and shakes! It made it hard not to order more food! I would definitely recommend this place!

Outstanding restaurant, fantastic food and even better customer service. Went there for breakfast on Sunday, and the place was packed. However, the line to order moved expeditiously and, even though, it was crowded no one seemed overwhelmed. We received our food in a timely manner and commenced to enjoying our meal. My gravy smothered chicken biscuit and pancakes were delicious. My fiancé order the eggs benedict with the chipotle hollandaise sauce. Unfortunately, it was a tad too spicy for her taste. I approached the counter and the employee asked what was the matter. I explained the situation and that we were needing to order another dish. She then cheerfully proceeded to accompany me to our table and take the order. When I offered my payment she refused stating they had it covered. She then proceeded to ensure the second order was pushed through so we could still enjoy breakfast together. Bottom line we will be back and will recommend this place to all of our friends.
