Great sides and delicious hickory smoked meats. The westerner is the«best» sandwich, hands down. Free ice cream and shaved ice. Pretty courteous staff. Very clean restaurant!!!

There are alot of BBQ restaurants in the area, and I suggest that you go to any one other than this one. They do not have a Pit and there food lacks the real deep south flavor we love. Suggest you try others… like Que.

Doing just enough. Messing up fast and picking up speed. I’m waiting for the closed sign to go up. Quality of food and lack of customers are making this place a has been. No comparison to Que which is a couple dollars more. Wasted 12 bucks on horrible brisquet and polish sausage. Goodbye

For the price, Dickeys is honestly better than most Bbq restaraunts around. Cue and 3 brothers are ridicuously expensive. Id rather pay 10 bucks at Dickeys for corporate chain Q than to go to some joker barbecue restaraunt that charges 25 for a rack ofvribs. Dickeys has real smoked meats that are always good and the sides are decent for the price. If you wanna not get ripped off go to Dickeys

I moved from Marietta and needed to find a new BBQ place to venture into and this place hit the spot. great location and great food. the servers were pretty cool and interactive and everything came pretty quick. I’m sure this place can get busy but it serves its purpose for what your looking for

There are plenty of BBQ joints around Atlanta, and you can’t top them. But, if you are looking for a fast, chain place, this is better than most. The food is pretty good, the service is quick and the restaurant is clean. I’ve eaten at this location multiple times, and I have yet to have a problem with my order. The pork is pretty much on par with other chain BBQ places. If you want something a little different, I like the smoked spicy cheddar sausages. It’s not something other restaurants have, and it has a good flavor.

We were going to take my niece and her 2 daughters out for dinner. The 12 year old asked if we could go for BBQ and our previous experience at Dickey’s(when it first opened) made for a convenient dinner choice. We should have known, given it was 7PM on a Saturday night, and we were the only people in the restaurant. My wife and niece opted for the barbequed Turkey breast. I have to assume that this is a manufactured piece of turkey since the consistency varied throughout the turkey — with some parts just plain mushy and others just plain chewy. The side salad was tiny(the portion was about the size of a tea cup) and the baked beans smelled(and of course tasted) like vinegar. My two great nieces opted for chicken nuggets(nothing more than commercially packaged chicken pieces shaped like dinosaurs) They were apparently heated in a microwave because they were, well, like microwaved heated chicken nuggets. Both of them complained about the consistency and the taste. Being brave, I opted for the Rib platter — or what they called a platter, 5 ribs, salad and smelly baked beans. OK, the ribs were passable, but really? 5 ribs? The two people who were working both decided to take their dinner break at the same time — leaving the serving area unattended — but what the heck, there was no one coming in anyway. All in all, this was a pretty poor experience that we did pass on to Dickey’s corporate offices. Let’s see, it’s been about a month now, and although we did receive an email from corporate saying that the area manager as well as the store owner would be getting back to us, well… I am still waiting. Go to Shanes, better service, better quality — or, there are so many small, privately owned BBQ joints in the area, Dickey’s just can’t compare.

Been here a couple of times for lunch. Not exactly the world’s greatest BBQ, but acceptable chain BBQ. When here, I go for the sausage, as it often proves to be tasty… and not as dependent on being good BBQ, but giving you something good to eat. Service is to order and then pick up… so not much of an issue… or advantage.

This was my first time trying this place; I like the ribs! They were seasoned well and meaty, I did not add any sauce to them. The okra was very good, considering that it was frozen, but it was fried while I waited for my order. The potato salad was creamy and prepared with dill. It was okay, but I did not particularly care for dill in potato salad. Besides two sides the rib plate comes with pickle and onion slices and a roll.

I’m a little shocked to see an average of two stars. I work nearby and head over to this Dickey’s location often. It’s always good — both the food and the service. I’ve had many items on the menu and have never had any complaints about this place. The bar-b-q is certainly not the ‘best ever’, but it’s very good for a chain. I’m a fan!

The brisket was AWESOME! I loved the cleanliness and customer service of this place. The ribs were good and the sauce was nice also. You don’t even need sauce. I visited another famous BBQ place located in Midtown Atlanta area, one that is known for it’s great BBQ and I was very very disappointing – but It was a hole in the wall, which apparently goes a long way in the world of BBQ. Another reviewer, Mack L. hit the nail on the head with that regard. I think the food is really good; most chain BBQ places are sub-par, this place is above!

People are idiots. Seriously. This BBQ is darn good for a chain. Does it have a smoke pit? Nope. Is it some little hole in the wall with the most amazing BBQ that has ever graced my palette? Nope. However if you’re looking for consistently solid and great tasting BBQ you’ll find it here at Dickey’s. I make it a point to get over to Dickey’s at least every few weeks for lunch and they always serve up fast and fresh BBQ. Service is quick and there is free ice cream and kids eat free on Sunday. Seriously what’s not to like? The BBQ pork is darn good and Dickey’s easily has one of the best BBQ Pork Sandwiches in the area. The Beef Brisket is always good and incredibly moist. Makes my mouth water every time I peek over the counter to watch them cut off some slices. The daily specials are a good deal and while some of the sides are better than others I have yet to have a bad experience. I’m tired of the 1 and 2 star reviews for this place from folks who obviously are royalty and much too regal to step foot into such a place. Personally I think that is great as I’ll continue to come to Dickey’s often and not have to worry about the snobs who will be going elsewhere. Yay!

TOTALLY disappointed! I have eaten at Dickey’s in Texas and found it to be awesome. Then tonight we ate at ours here in Alpharetta. We ordered one pound of «pulled» pork and 1 pound of «texas» brisket. What we received were two pounds of fat and connective tissue. I was so grossed out! I didn’t expect it to be awesome BBQ but I did expect it to be edible for $ 25.00. I would have rather had a McRib from McDonalds than this sorry excuse for BBQ. I am seriously considering taking back this inedible junk and demanding my money back. Save yourself the trouble and dissapointment. Go to Cue or just about any place else. I will NEVER eat at Dickey’s in Alpharetta ever again!

It’s OK. It’s basically fast food at a higher price so what do you expect. It never ceases to amaze me how many people speak about being disappointed and they continue to look for the ultimate bbq. You’re not going to find it in a newer strip mall in Alpharetta. Control your expectations and you’ll be OK. It’s not gourmet. But if you need a meal, you’re in the area, and you want some simple bbq then give it a try.

blah. going here makes me angry that spiced right is STILL not open in roswell. anyway, no wall of text review. the summary is the food is too expensive for the quality. sure you get free soft serve, but really, i could go without for better bbq. places like this makes living the burbs so painful.

I’d give it 2.5 stars overall here’s why. Not a smoker on site! I think they buy from the main franchise location and store it in this weird azz warming oven by the counter. If you order pulled pork sandwich… they shread it a little-then chop it! WTH! You have to order«don’t chop it» You’re guaranteed to get something chewy that’s inedible in every sandwich.(Brisket or pork). The meat is a little flavorful but this joint is basically on par with a 1990s Sonny’s BBQ. They weigh the portions(fat and all) you probably get about 5oz meat on a margarine glazed bun that is run through a crazy toaster contraption. Staff is on par with fast food restaurants. Sides: BBQ beans tasted canned, the baked potato casserole was a glob of gluey tasteless potato, the caesar salad is in a 6? oz «side» container with kraft Italian. Special: 2 for tuesday $ 5 pulled pork sandwiches. Worth it but no way I’d pay $ 5 for one. Bun size is about that of an Arby’s regular roast beef. They have a daily special if you can stomach the 2 sides but you do get a tea as a reward to wash down the«lucky knuckle» in your sammy($ 7). Condiment station: They’re hot BBQ sauce is really good and the tea is above average. They also have onions and pickles for the to go order YAY! Makes me miss Williamson Bros. over by my house which is a solid 3 stars. Once a month lunch rotation. **update: no more 2 for Tuesdays** :-(

I find this to be an ok place for some fast food BBQ. I got the chopped brisket sandwich(comes with pickle, onion on a bun). I get a little sauce to add to it and I’m out the door in about 10 min spending about $ 5 and on my way back to work. Currently they’re running a Tues & Wed special for pulled pork sandwich, a side and a drink for $ 5 — not a bad deal if you eat pork. Obviously, if you order more you’ll spend more. This isn’t the restaurant to philosophize over BBQ at, it’s in Georgia, it’s a chain restaurant and it isn’t a dried out hamburger/chicken sandwich-that’s all. I wouldn’t eat dinner here but when I forget my lunch again I’ll be back.

Have you ever gone to a resturant & the vibe seems like everyone is having a good time. People talking eating & everything is right with the world well that’s not this place. I’m not saying it’s as quiet as a library here but the diners were so quiet about there lunch it made me noticed that should have been my first sign. I learned form Stacy G’s review that this is a texas based chain & it did remind me of Rudy’s in Austin. I decided to get the Chopped Brisket and hot links to go. They give you a bit of oinions, peppers, pickles and a roll to go along with your meal. The food is as bland as bland can be and it was one of those times that made me feel truly sad that I wasted my money here. If you want better BBQ, Que restaurant is right down the street.

Dickey’s BBQ Pit is truly a contradiction in title alone. If there’s a BBQ pit, shouldn’t that mean a BBQ pit master should be on site? Yeah, not so much here. Look, if you’re trying to pass yourself off as true BBQ and have images of the founders grilling from decades past on your walls — at least try to make an effort with your food. Try to have some semblance of service. What I found here was a lack of effort and complacency. My order was simple, chopped beef brisket, with a baked potato casserole. Got the brisket, but I had to go up to remind the food delivery person that she forgot the potato part. The food was bland, had the feeling that it was made off of an assembly line, again no pit masters in sight here. For example, if you want BBQ sauce you’ll have three choices and all of them have the consistency of water. I don’t necessarily blame the people that work there, they’re being taught to give mediocrity to the masses by their corporate bosses. It’s just not for me.

Once again, I am always looking for an excellent BBQ shack. Unfortunately I failed once again. But when I first walked in, I got had a sudden shiver down my back and thought I’d walked into Sonny’s BBQ Pit. I stepped back outside and saw«Dickie’s» on the sign again and decided to give it a try. The dish I had isn’t on their online menu so I cannot name it, but it was pulled pork thrown into a baked potato with onion strings and then I had to order the sides separately which were brunswick stew and baked beans. The sides were very plain. The potato and pork was surprising pretty good after adding plenty of bbq sauce and it was helped with those onion strings. Everything was just«OK», but not worth their prices. For dinner, at a chain bbq restaurant, I spent $ 12 for a dish, 2 sides and a drink. It probably is better price if you get the«meal», but I will let others find that out while I keep searching for that perfect bbq shack!
