The Flooring Lady

We actually chose to contact Lani based upon another Unilocal review, specifically that in addition to installation that she would able to help us select a carpet, cutting out the step of venturing out to a vendor, figuring out delivery, etc.
Lani was prompt in responding to an email inquiry and we set up a phone call appointment then a home visit shortly thereafter.
During the initial home visit Lani took measurements and made some recommendations regarding padding and carpet selection based upon our needs. Two days later she sent a detailed work estimate that was better on cost than we expected. We accepted the offer and requested a quick install. She was able to accommodate later that week.
Her work crew was prompt and efficient. They removed and disposed of all old carpeting, performed a flawless install, and cleaned up after themselves, leaving just the remnants from our carpet selection. They used less padding than expected, and because the padding is usable on other jobs, Lani provided us a refund for the unused amount.
That’s the details, but here’s the sense of quality and customer care: Lani arrived exactly on time to each scheduled meeting. Her work crew performed a flawless installation. Her work crew cared about the property, ensuring that it was left better than they found it. She only accepted full payment after a careful walk-​through after installation.
It’s evident that she is concerned about the conduct of her crew and how it reflects her business and the industry. She cares that her business reflects professionalism and that her customers are satisfied. It’s evident that she’s devoted to providing customers with the best overall value for their money. In my view, value is more than cost – it’s the whole package, how you’re treated and cared for as a customer.

I’ll gladly be the first to review The Flooring Lady, Lani Chevalier! We had to re-​carpet my in-​laws 700sq ft townhouse while they were away on vacation, sort of a surprise. They were only going to be away for about 10 days so we didn’t have much time. I was actually looking on Angie’s List for a carpet installer but for some strange reason I just decided to look on Unilocal for kicks and found The Flooring Lady.
I called Lani and explained our situation and scope of the job. We were going to buy the carpet ourselves and have them install it. After speaking to Lani on the phone, she met me at the job site the next day to give us an estimate and go over a tentative plan for the install. This was Wednesday. She also gave us a few recommendations on carpet and padding saved a bunch of money by having them purchase the carpet at wholesale. She also recommended an easy to install vinyl wood-​looking flooring for the kitchen which had water damaged wood flooring. We ended buying the flooring and installing that ourselves, really easy!
We agreed to the estimate on Wednesday night and she had the materials and the installer (Julie Akin) there at 9am on Friday morning. We did the install in two phases since we had to move furniture around so they finished the carpeting on Saturday morning on schedule at 11:30am as promised.
We finished moving all the furniture back in to place and cleaned up before the in-​laws came home Sunday evening. They were thrilled at the new carpet!
From my first phone contact till invoice, The Flooring Lady was so thorough in communicating through phone, text, and email. She delivers what she says she is going too! Our time table on this job was critical and involved coordinating family members to come and pitch in at different times since we all have jobs. The Flooring Lady staying on schedule allowed us to complete this mission without a hitch.
