L & L Hawaiian BBQ

We have been disappointed by this location a few times! The curry was tasteless, the katsu was full of tendons and the Mac salad was literally wet noodles and mayo– no seasoning, no tiny carrots. We will make the trip to the Mauka location next time!

Depending on what u order the food is good.
I usually order from the Chinese side and get bitter melon with chicken and rice.
Sometimes I order the bbq chicken
Prices are reasonable at this location
I rarely order other things like stew or curry cause I know those items aren’t that great
They could improve on their recipe for those items

I just visited the Mililani L & L Hawaiian BBQ. I’ve had okay luck with this location in the past but today was a royal screwup.
I asked for the BBQ Chicken under «Healthier Plates». The cashier looked at me with a confused look on her face and I pointed it out to her on the menu. It only further confused her that I was also ordering just a mini BBQ plate. She told me they were the same thing. HOW IS THAT THE SAME THING? When I ordered it in the past, it came with a green salad and brown rice. What I got today was white rice and mac salad.
My husband got the Chicken Katsu Plate. He opened it up and there was NO RICE. It was ALL mac salad and chicken. Who does that? We called L & L and their response was that we could have substituted everything we wanted. I’m sorry, but if you’re local, you expect rice with your chicken katsu, not just mac salad. This visit was so frustrating and we will most likely not be back.

Food was sub-​par at this location, at best. It didn’t help that we found a kinky black hair on my daughter’s spare ribs, which just killed our appetites. You can’t enjoy a meal when you’re trying to make sure that you don’t wind up with someone’s hair in your mouth, ya know? Staff seemed inconsiderate. Won’t be back, and I don’t recommend this location to anyone else.

The food is decent like any other L&L; however the cashier was rude and barely paying attention while taking my order. I guess that was partly due to the fact that her friends were in the restaurant distracting her.
When we got our food to go, the food was pretty much spilling out of the box and into the bag.
She also forgot katsu sauce for the chicken katsu. Fail.
