Disgusting. People smoking everywhere. Stools with torn seat covers. Why this place has not been shut down by either Milford Health Dept, Police, or Liquor Commission is incomprehensible.

Not much to say other than I hope my glass was clean. I love dive bars and this isn’t one. It was so hot in there that we asked the bartender about the a/c. The response was the he/she was told to only run it 15 minutes/hour. Bathroom is dirty. I’m sure the entire place is as well. Probably why it’s so dark.

Gotta love the Comber. Great times and great people. Live music Friday nights. Favorite dive bar ever

Reader warning: this place is a dive bar. I’d feel bad if somebody came from out of town to visit as it appears to be the highest rated bar in Milford. That said, the place is a gem and I enjoy coming here. It’s great for locals(not to be confused with townies, it’s a good crowd). Lots of character.

It’s the Beachcomber! Exclamation points!!! One time I left my credit card here(which I didn’t notice was missing until later that night when I tried to retrieve it from my wallet to pay McDonalds to kill me) and I called the Beachcomber on the chance that someone was still around. Someone was around, and they let me come back well after closing time to retrieve my credit card. I was chuffed. That’s the Beachcomber. Decent beer selection, numerous games(which are an undervalued thing in bars IMO), a fucking cigarette machine, sometimes live music, and a fun«maybe I will get laid tonight» atmosphere. I hope that Long Island Sound never takes the Beachcomber away from us.

A great place to play pool, listen to live music or watch the game. The Beachcomber is my Thursday night last stop. Across from the beach in Milford, Beachcomber is tucked away from the busy route one or new haven ave madness. Always enjoyable.

Beachcomber has an awesome New England feel. It’s situated near the ocean, inconspicuously between beach houses as the perfect place for both regulars and renters. It also helps that it’s across the street from the beach house that I’m currently staying at, so for me, the commute is excellent :) Beyond the commute though, there are other things that make Beachcomber awesome. The interior of Beachcomber is exactly what you’d expect from a classical New England bar: a dimly lit, wooden, older building that exudes sea trawlers and whaling boats and Mark Wahlberg movies that are in some way about New England. Games(darts, shuffleboard, pool, Golden Tee) dart the bar, allowing for good fun on the side. They also seem to have various events: live bands on Fridays and a hoppin’ Saturday night. The staff is excellent: we had Allison(I think that was her name) and she was excellent behind the bar, checking in on us and visiting, making the bar have that extra homey feel. I have not tried food here: most of it seems to be of the microwave variety, but they will order in pizza for you if you’d like. Generally speaking, Beachcomber is an awesome bar, and a perfectly situated piece of New England. If you’re in the area, go check it out.
