I loved the small, family-owned business atmosphere in this store. Once every 18 months or so, I would drop off a watch that needed a battery change.(It was a watch I bought out of town in a department store, & I can’t always find the right kind of batteries at Walmart.) And the price for the new watch battery, plus the service charge was about $ 9.00 – pretty nice. Scooter, the owner & head jeweler, is a friend of the family, so it’s nice to chat & catch up while waiting in the store. Sometimes I would come during busier times(for them &/or for me), but they could take care of my watch’s «issue»(change the battery, or even clean it if needed) & keep it overnight for a night or 2, & it didn’t affect the price. There are also plenty of things to browse in the store like watches, jewelry, luggage, luggage tags, & pocket knives. I sure miss this store since I moved out of Midland last year!
