We tried to order from O Sake because they have pretty decently priced sushi. Unfortunately for delivery when we asked initially they said it was 30 minutes. After an hour, we called to make sure they had the number to call us back in case the delivery was sent. We waited for 1hr and a 45 minutes for the delivery and still nothing, so we decided to call again. Being nice, we asked if it was on it’s way. The lady said yes it’s being delivered in a rude and angry manner and hung up the phone right away. I have friends that are restaurant owners and also waiters and waitresses. I understand how they feel when customers are being rude or stuck up and yelling at them. But we were asking nicely, in case they didn’t have the number, or if something happened. We never yelled at them to say that it’s been almost 2 hours and delivery hasn’t arrived. To be rude about it and angry at a customer is no way to deal business. It’s extremely unprofessional. When the delivery did arrive they had one of the waitress deliver… When we looked at the order, there was one roll missing or they changed the order as well. I called and nicely asked it there was one missing. The lady said there wasn’t and hung up the phone. Extremely rude and not customer friendly at all. This is ridiculous. Never going back here to eat or order to-go again.

It’s a great place in a small downtown area. The rolls are pretty good, but there is a little less variety in the special rolls than I’d like. There is a theme of fried things in the special rolls. However, they do have an all-you-can-eat menu on Monday nights for $ 19 that makes everything worthwhile. They have a good environment for dining whether with a date, or friends. Dress up, dress down, whatever works for you. It isn’t too loud, but it is a popular place and draws a good crowd. However, I don’t remember having to wait for a table any of the times I’ve been there. Definitely look at the all-you-can-eat menu and the bento boxes.

Menu description was totally short of what we were served. More than half of the main ingredients were missing on one of the seafood plate we ordered. She went back to ask the cook– it is that way because the price is lower by couple dollars!!! We asked for noodles, No noodles instead we paid extra for brown rice that looked like a brick!!! The other plate was ok, big empty plate with a couple vegetables, the salmon and few pieces of vegetables. Greasy table, no ambient music, cold atmosphere. This place is not an upscale restaurant, it is just other eating place like the pizzeria next door!!!

The rolls are fresh, appealing, and out of this world. The service is personable and attentive. The bar is cozy and welcoming but not the focal point at the moment but they’re working on it. Hey, who orders a martini at a sushi restaurant? The place is a hidden gem and if it’s a little quirky, deal with it. That’s what makes a place great.

I got the salmon and yellowtail sushi, and it was average. The customer service was really slow.

i go here quite often. im very picky with my sushi. this is by far the best place to go to if you want good sushi in orange county. the other places just dont compare. fish is always fresh. ive tried many thing from their menu and every dish ive eaten, i have never complained about. service is always excellent love this place! Update feb 2016: Service is slow quite often. Very frustrating when you call for pick up at 5:40pm tues night and get your food at 6:30 when they said it would be ready in 25 mins. The restaurant was empty w only 1 table seated. The Last time i sat down in the restaurant, it was 40 mins until i got my sushi and it wasnt even packed. Only 3 other tables seated. They are def under staffed and the waitress sucks. Of all the times ive been there, we always have to ask for a refill.

Worst sushi bar I have ever been too. We will talk about service in a minute, the all you can eat sushi takes about an hour for two rolls * note only one sushi chef but when you receive your sushi you get this Luke warm mush that they call rice wrapped in seaweed. Also I was served raw warm tuna. Hope I don’t get sick. Now to the service, note this is New Year’s Day. 2 waitresses for the small seating area. Understandable, but when your waitress has to come back to you several times asking what your table ordered because she can’t remember what you wanted. Absolutely disturbing. One specifically never comes to your table to check on it my drinks were empty even after she dropped our food off. Most disapointed with this place I will tell everyone to stay away that asks about it

Really, average at best. Read reviews about their bentos and sushi. There are a few notable things about this place. 1. Food: I always judge a restaurant by the food. And this is where they lost me. The California roll typically has fish roe on the outside at restaurants that specialize in sushi. Maybe I expected too much considering the area. We are not in nyc or la. The pad Thai… someone wrote about how good it is here. I was actually craving pad Thai(i blame pregnancy hormones), but I was pretty disappointed. It was too tomatoe-y. The portion size was very generous. I ate a few bites and my husband who normally finishes my food couldn’t really eat more than a few bites. Oh the calamari was so soggy… I don’t like greasy soggy fried calamari… 2. Service: so if I’m blown away by the food, I can be more generous or lenient on the service. The restaurant wasn’t busy. They had 4 – 5 servers. It seemed like other servers were attentive enough to check on their customers but our server came by to check on us once during the entire dinner. We had an appetizer and entrees, so it wasn’t a short stay. I don’t know if she was shy or just didn’t care… 3. Prices: my pad Thai was 12 and the husband’s bento was 15 with our appetizer at 8. Pretty reasonable. Bottom line: the dearth of choices in the area will most likely drive us to come back maybe once more but definitely not on my list of places to visit

I’ve visited O sake twice, once for lunch then again for dinner. Both visits were for sushi and rolls. Good, fresh sushi, reasonable prices, nice décor and cheerful service. Highly recommended.

I really dug the environment, very calm and quiet. However I was kind of disappointed, the sushi was mediocre to me. I had read all of the reviews and was hoping for it to be as amazing as everyone made it sound, but it was just«eh.» I wish the sushi was as great as the environment so I wouldn’t mind going back to it. I might go back to try a non sushi meal, but unsure if it is worth it.

This place sucked the lady didn’t write down anything we ordered and then waited there from 5:45 to 7:00 pm. Then had to beg for our food and it was just a disgrace

This review is simply about their food. I have literally eaten food from O’Sake more than 100 times since they’ve been open(I live very close &LOVE sushi)! I’d say I’m definitely a regular. Their food is usually very good. But sometimes their sushi is a little off & isn’t as good as it normally is(I don’t know if this has something to do with which sushi chef is there?). So I guess the sushi is hit or miss. But usually it’s a hit. & When it is a hit, it is just absolutely delicious and wonderful(and appealing to the eye)! I’ve also never ever gotten sick from eating the raw fish & since I eat sushi from there all the time, I think it’s safe to say that there’s little to no chance of someone becoming ill from consuming raw fish from the sushi bar. The tempura vegetable has always been very good! Pad Thai is wonderful! Sea weed salad is great! I’ve never tried anything from the hibachi menu. The spicy Kani salad is very good. The shumai is awesome! I tried the Basil Steak once and wasn’t sure about it but it turned out to be delicious. The bento boxes are decent. Red scallop curry and red tofu curry are my two favorite curry dishes to get. The curry has always been a favorite dish of mine from O’Sake… Until the last time I got it. The red tofu curry had potatoes in it that were the same shape and size of the tofu. I bit into a potato and said«EW! That’s a gross piece of tofu» but then I realized they had added potatoes and I was disappointed because I believe it was perfect in the first place without the potatoes. Also, the addition of the potatoes meant less tofu. :(I don’t know whether potatoes are now added to the curry all the time or if somebody just messed up and put them there. But it says nothing about potatoes in the menu under red tofu curry. Although the sushi isn’t always 100% and although I got potatoes in my curry once, this will not stop me from returning. I still absolutely love the food at O’Sake and would definitely recommend it to everyone!

For someone loving sushi it’s sad have only been to this place once so far. Can’t wait to go back again! Started off with the Coconut Shrimp & loved that it was coated in a coconut sauce & didn’t just have the normal flakes of coconut. The Mr. Sample roll was delicious as well loved the tuna & salmon combo with mango & thai sauces! Will be trying that volcano salad next.

The food taste is really a 5 but the service was a 3. I’m thinking that we went on their busiest night ever, because I was apologized to a lot. Made a reservation which was smart — good food, popular spot. My wife’s Bento Box was HUGE! Good portion. We started with garlic edamame which is far superior to any I’d had. CAUTION: when the waiter asks what rice you want IT’S NOTINCLUDED. Just an extra buck but seemed a little shady.

I have visited two times for lunch. Both times the food was good but the service was extremely slow. It took 2 hours to eat a basic lunch definitely not someplace to go to eat if you have anything else to do that day.

As my experienced tastebuds dull with time… they are rarely awakened to a 5 star level anymore. We are fortunate to have a fine Asian fusion restaurant and sake bar that chooses to open it’s doors in downtown Middletown, not known for being a mecca for fine dining. Why 5 stars???(Adjusted for location) Ambiance: Quiet, tasteful & soothing. Service: 5 stars. Owner was gracious, servers were«alive» & less robotic than one typically can find in some Asian restaurants. Food: Gyoza, steamed or fried, none better. White tuna tataki is also another recommended refreshing tuna starter. Shrimp green curry is addicting… shrimp always fresh & crisp, without brine. flavorful, chili paste/coconut milk flavor. Red curries also available. The menu is vast… dominated by Thai & Japanese dishes… Many noodle dishes… The rolls are too numerous to mention… but come«tightly packed». Interesting Sake menu. We usually order the house sake because it’s extremely reasonable at $ 7 for 375 ml. Price: $ 49.19 plus tip for: Sake, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, salads… no dessert

Saw a sign for this sushi spot from the parking lot of the Middletown DMV while I was renewing my license and decided to stop in. Color me impressed! The food was incredibly good, the service was on point, and the ambiance is easily romantic-date worthy. The interior and music are well suited to the feeling they’re trying to convey. I sat at the sushi bar and started with the sushi appetizer, which was 5 pieces of perfection. I then asked the chef what was good that day, great decision! After some preliminary questions on preference, he served up a yellow tail roll with tuna and mango(elegantly displayed) so fresh, it deserved a slap in the face. The miso soup was as good as any I’ve ever had, and the tempura red bean ice cream was perfectly crisp on the outside. Sake selection was kind of weak, but it good the job done, and it didn’t detract from an otherwise awesome meal. They also have an outdoor space for when the weather gets nice. Give it a try, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

Anyone rating O Sake less than 4 stars is either: out of their mind, or a glass half empty pessimistic snob on a pedestal. Advisory: I have NO self interest in the restaurant’s success, I am just a VERY satisfied customer. I’ve been to O Sake at least ten times already. Quite frankly, they do everything right. The service — friendly, the atmosphere — perfect, and the food — absolutely outstanding! It blows my mind every time I order a simple and basic roll that tastes as good as any piece of sushi I’ve ever had. The attention to detail makes all the difference. I’ve been to many, many places for sushi — O Sake ranks at the top, and is definitely one of my favorites!!!

Could not be more in love… Choose the seat at the sushi bar every time. Watching the creation of your meal is a form of art… There is almost no care paid to the time passing… The artist simply stops & pours his love into the sushi. The fish is beautiful. So fresh, so clean and never fishy. The plates are beautifully decorated and the flavors are divine. From the chopstick rests to the décor to the selection of fish… EVERY detail is thought out. I cannot say enough good things. I am in sushi love.
