H & J Freile Home Inspection

I highly recommend their home inspection services, specifically, Kevin. He was extremely knowledgable, thorough and friendly and made the process a lot less stressful. He was able to identify a number of issues that needed to be brought to our attention before completing the sale. We were also provided with a handy binder with all of the important information in it.

I don’t typically write reviews, but a good home inspector is hard to come by. There are a lot of companies out there and not many reviews, so I feel obligated to share my recent experience with H & J Freile.
My wife and I sold our condo in Hoboken and were looking in the Bridgewater/​Somerset area for a new home. We eventually found a house that we loved and needed to get it inspected. We called a few different companies, two of which had us leave a message and, to this day, we still have not heard back. H & J Freile got in touch with us immediately to schedule our inspection that same week.
Joyce, the company’s President, was extremely nice and set up our inspection personally. Kevin was our inspector and he did an amazing job. He was extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. He took the time to explain what he was seeing and answered any questions we had along the way. Kevin noticed some structural issues that, after getting our own estimates, would have cost us tens of thousands of dollars to fix later on. He also noted a number of safety/​code issues, which, as a couple looking to start a family, was very important to us.
The day after inspection, Kevin provided a binder of his findings. The reports are extremely thorough but easy to digest and are broken out by area/​system (structural, HVAC, plumbing, interior, exterior, etc.). Each section separately lists the major and minor issues found. The report includes top line summaries as well as in-​depth explanations, which is great depending on your level of knowledge. As a buyer, the more information you have, the better. Even if you’re not looking to request repairs for minor issues, it’s good to know what you’re getting into once you move in. For us, we were only concerned with major issues, and Freile saved us from some serious headaches and expenses down the road. We ended up running away from that deal and will definitely be using Freile when we find our next home.
With any investment, information is key. If you want piece of mind when buying a home, go with H & J Freile. They’re customer service is great and our inspector was extremely knowledgeable.

I had used more than one inspector in my past home buys and was not too happy with results… and THEN … I used Steve from H&J Freile for my last inspection and it was the best thing I ever did for my home buying. Since that was first time I had used this company and I was really not sure what to expect. However, I was glad they did an awesome job in finding all major issues that any other inspection company (that I have used in the past) may have simply missed.
Steve was pleasure to talk to and was prompt/​professional with his on time arrival on the day of inspection, He went above and beyond when it came to the actual inspection. He went on the roof (found issues) and difficult to reach crawl space areas and found major issues that wold have impacted my purchase down the line. Steve was very patient in answering all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable & helpful i.e., even after the inspection was done.
Joyce was wonderful to talk to during setting up of the appointment. The inspection report was promptly delivered online as promised and did not miss to record not even one issue. The report itself was clear to understand for both side lawyers & I. It made the next steps much easier.
I will not hesitate to use Steve and his company in the future & would highly recommend H& J Freile to any one who really needs a good inspection company.
