Lauralynn is fabulous!!! She«fixed» my hair from years of over processing and wrong color. The salon is fun and friendly and so is Lauralynn. Most important she really listens to what you want. So many stylists say they understand and then do what they want. I’m happy.

This review is for Kristin I have very thin/fine fragile hair. I use extension most of the time(currently the micro bead form). Several years ago(way before the magic of the life hair saving Kristin) I went to some where I found online and had a disaster, they used the hotheads tape version it killed my. After a melt down a good friend recommend Kristin to me(I should of asked her from the beginning) Anyhow Kristin saved the day. Even with a packed schedule she saw how distraught I was an stayed very late one day to make me sane again. I came in picked out the extension color I would want and she rush ordered them for me. Deep conditioning, highlights and a cut later the extensions went in… Life was good… Several years have passed and I still go here.(She’s seen me through a wedding a baby and several hair do changes — sometimes I have extensions some times I take a break from them). I live an hour away now and still make the trek to see her!

Teri… Ahhh My Fabulous Hair Stylist :-) Where to start… Teri came highly recommended by a mutual friend in 1999. Back then she was working at Peter of London in Kendall. She soon then parted ways with POL and along with a group of talented hairdressers and spa professionals, they opened up what is now The Strand in Pinecrest. I have lived in Broward County and even moved to the State of Colorado for some time, and still was very loyal to my hairdresser. Only once did I stray because of my zero ability for patience which I have yet to conquer… she was booked! That alone tells you what a great stylist she is. Never again have I strayed. Lesson learned. Teri analyzes my hair and starts to ask«Ok, what are we going to do?» She is not only professional but approachable and honest. She lets you know if your hair needs help and if your hair will look good with the do you’re trying to go for. If I say cut it all off, it’s almost always a NO! Because I’m drastic like that… but that was a while ago. Now I just tell her I want layers, not too short, etc. and I trust that she will leave me looking pretty ;) Her magic always works! I may be a bit difficult to work with but only because of my CDO(OCD for those yet not familiar… hehehe). I do things a certain way and Teri understands this. Yes, she is definitely patient with me. She bares with me! God bless her :) After she’s done with my hair, Erika will happily wash my hair yet again. I need to be hair free or else I will have a titi fit! Or maybe because Erika gives a great scalp massage. Yeah, that’s it! Thank you Erika! You’re wonderful. Overall this establishment is not only exceptionally clean but equipped with a very friendly professional staff. You’re also offered a glass of wine to start off your day, whatever time that may be. Prices are set by each artist. So inquire within. I highly recommend Teri for your hair needs. Make your appointments now! P. S. Not sure what those two negative reviews are about or even sure how it got through the Unilocal automated software since both reviewers have no measures of quality, reliability and have zero activity on Unilocal.Shame. KRISTENBROOKE @ THESTRAND. WARNING!!! NOOOOOOOOOO! It is november and I am still fighting the charge on my credit card from the late May. I would not Unilocal this if girl had not continued TO not return my money so I could get services elsewhere. I am a natural blond. I needed roots touched up. I was told Samantha, the owner, WHOWASTHEORIGINALPERSONREFEREED, was a great colorist. It looked that way from the sweet girl who suggested her.) Samantha was as not in that day. I asked receptionist who the owner might suggest and I ended up in the chair of a blonde girl named KRISTENBROOKE –so HOW could I be in complete foreign territory? She had extra time and said she could also add a few high lites and lowlights. as well as touch up roots. I was there over 4 hours! Yes, Big smile on my face when I left. So glad to get out. Does not always mean I am pleased with work. I am not the kind to object and scream loudly at business. I had removed my glasses. I could see, under bad lighting, there was a contrast, which is good with highlites. The selection of color choices was just WAY off the chart. Nothing this simple should take this long. But simple. NO. I ended up with ½ in. think white stiles and deep deep red Auburn hair at my natural part. I looked like a zebra., getting darker and deeper underneath at the nape of my neck. I REGRETNOTBEINGABLETOPOSTPHOTOHERE. I EVEN tipped the girl $ 50. + paid over 220 on my charge. I called her when I got home to tell her it was BEYONDJUST unexceptable. She replied DREADEDHAIRDRESSERWORDS ‘you’ll get used to it.” my daughter screamed when she saw me in in the dark. Demanding I get her to fix it right way. Girl had no time the next day or the next day, maybe next week.!! I am used to any serious issues/disasters being handled as a top priority, and typically«please come in as soon as we open and I will work you in somehow». She was offering the following week and continued to argue with me– I was wrong. It is usually not a good idea to allow the person who got it sooooo wrong to fix it. Especially when they think they refuse to take responsibility. But she gave me no time for any option to make it right. I asked for a refund, when she found no time, except maybe 1 week from then, she refused refund and would elsewhere right way, that day, to a popular well know n repsected salon to be rescued., as a walk in. This is how real hairdressers feel about hair. This will take more than one visit to fix, not to ruin the overly bleached white stripes. 3 times over a period of months has me almost normal. and $ 7 – 800 later. She has refused a refund though she has 50 dollars tip for her independent status to pay renting space at salon. And she continues to make up stories to my CC company.. I have posted photo for laughs on my face book site. The picture says it all. the established good salon, MYRA’s, has the before and after pictures on the wall. The service world is only as good as the service it provides. And backing up clients to make them happy or at least satisfied. Not force them to wear a hat for a week. Grading = Bad Service. She has No Talent for color. No Service skills. Disrespect of clients hair, her business, does not own up to her mistakes. I have yet to notify owner out of respect for any establishment and not playing the«I“m telling» game. So FAR anyway. Her letter to my credit card co. she twists the facts adding more insult on injury. The amount of time to right the wrong is way more than anyone should have to pay.

Laura Lynn is a miracle worker! She’s not only an amazing stylist/colorist she’s an amazing woman! It’s like your friend is doing your hair AND you leave looking BEAUTIFUL!!!
