Went in to eat n a rude French woman n her accent refused to give me the key to the bathroom. She did not say hi or smile. Very rude. I left. Place empty n dirty. Avoid. Too bad these French come to USA n act like that. Arrogance. L a grandeur de la France don’t work in USA.

Trying this place out for the first time. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but it intrigued me and how could I pass up the chance to try out a cute bakery? Walking in it smells like sandwiches. They keep the door open so there are a couple of flies just buzzing around… You seat yourself, and they come to you. However, it took quite some time for the service to come. It wasn’t packed or anything though. In the past 30 min, two people waiting for a server to give them a menu walked out. Sitting down there’s a roach underneath the table. Granted, it’s dead, there should be people cleaning each table after every customer, right? As for the food… DELICIOUS

Came inside and was not greeted or anything. Just awkwardly went and sat ourselves at a table and waited. Went here for lunch, food was fast and waitress was nice but did not write down our order and everyone’s food came wrong… the sandwiches were brought first and the side of fries that came it with came later, we waited ten minutes for the fries for maybe a handful of fries on a small plate. Literally an extra small order of fries from McDonald’s size. We didn’t even want them anymore. There was some sort of argument going on in the kitchen next to us which is open, the man was screaming in French for about 15 minutes and the guests were hearing all of it. Made me uncomfortable. Don’t think I would come back here again.

Authentic and delicious French food in Miami. From my morning breakfast of a freshly baked chocolate croissant and café au lait, the friendly staff, especially from the owners who speak fluent French as well, make it a fun and pleasant experience since I get to practice my French while enjoying a delicious meal. Everything is très magnifique!

I’d like to start off by saying that my dad now eats here every day, at least once a day. Today, I joined him here for lunch for the first time, and had a phenomenal meal. Not a single bite of food that I had tasted even mediocre, everything was absolutely incredible. I had the filet mignon with a peppercorn sauce, ratatouille, and their potatoes. Normally when you order potatoes in a nice restaurant, you might expect a side of slightly above average baked potatoes with some spices, or roasted in some kind of olive oil. not today! I received a potato casserole type dish that was creamy with sliced potatoes baked to perfection in some kind of incredible sauce. [I took pictures] The filet mignon was cooked medium rare and to perfection, and the ratatouille was flawless. I would normally expect a meal like this to be somewhere in NYC for $ 75 – 120 a person. The filet mignon was on the expensive side for this restaurant and cost $ 19 and change. I also started out with one of the top 3 french onion soups I have ever had(very thin compared to what I’ve normally tried, but delicious). This place somehow does not have a lot of ratings, but I’d imagine it could easily skyrocket soon. My dad has spoken with one of the waitresses who is the head chef’s wife, and apparently the chef has been cooking in France for over 20 years prior to this. this meal proved every year of his experience. The crème brûlée was also magnificent. Enjoy.

Stumbled across this place on my lunch break for jury duty and loved it. I’m a simple person so this review may not suit those looking to be dazzled but it is a nice little place to grab a quick bite. First off, the service is lovely. They are very attentive, but not overbearing either and helped me select my meal when I asked for suggestions(you would be surprised by how many places can’t do that). It’s a cute spot with plenty of seats that look comfy and spacious, however, I decided to sit in the corner at the bar. The food itself was yummy. I ordered a very basic dish of eggs, potato, salad, and baguette with a coffee and everything was very tasty. Also, the food came out SUPER fast which is great if you’re in a rush(not to my advantage because I wanted to kill over an hour and a half of wait-time). Ultimately, I walked in for some coffee to keep me awake and left with a full and satisfied stomach as well as endless refills of coffee!(coffee-lovers understand the beauty in this)

Stopped here for breakfast. I ordered omelette with mushrooms, tomatoes and onion. Not impressed. Burned, open faced omelette. Seriously lacking in taste. I can cook better myself.

I popped over here for a late lunch after some business at the government center. I was pretty pleased with the quality of food and service here. I had the salmon platter which was smoked salmon, cream cheese, a small side salad, and a croissant. The croissant was fantastic! Flaky and really flavorful. It went very nicely with the salmon and cream cheese. The side salad was kind of a throw away, and I wish it wasn’t served on the plate with everything else. Service was good. He was filling my water before I could even put the glass down. I would definitely come back here.

While on jury duty across the street, I went over for lunch to this attractive bistro. Service was good, food was good. But, the two dead roaches on the floor… not cool. Fortunately, I noticed that after paying the bill. Glad there’s an extermination service but lets pick up the mess please before allowing guests in… please.

I only stopped by for coffee — so I will have to visit again and give a proper review of their food — but the décor was cute(a bit historic) and the place was clean. However, the most important part of my visit is that when I asked for more coffee in my cup(I like café with leche not leche with coffee) … the waitress gave it to me without any hesitation or attitude. Very Very important is that she didn’t drown out the taste of coffee with sugar. So for a coffee review, this is a good place :-)

The French culture has long been stereotyped as many things throughout history. Were those stereotypes justified? I won’t try to be political or some kind of sociologist, because this isn’t the proper venue for it. Unfortunately, I will have to bring into the mix one of the stereotypes: French people are mean and surly. My party of five went out for lunch. We work ONE block away and we always walk by Première Avenue Bistro and Bakery when going to anywhere in downtown; so why not give it a shot? We walk in and the waitress seats us on a round five-top table, perfect! Everyone will be able to comfortably talk with everyone else. I let the ladies it first and I am about to take the last seat when another waiter runs up and says«I’m sorry we need to move you, this table has been reserved.» [STRIKEONE] A low traffic restaurant having a five-top reserved at 12:30pm? Eh. Not unheard of, but there were plenty of other seats around. We were then moved to a ten-top rectangular table… awkward. As we place our orders, we inform the waiter that we need to split the checks. He says he can only split the check in TWO. One member of my party was in a rush to get back before 1:30pm, so we gave them that solo split. We order. Although I’m not in a rush, I’m watching the time… tick tock tick tock. Fifteen minutes pass and we get our meals. As time was passing, I watched the table. No one sat there. My table munched on some tiny bread slices while we waited for the food. The crust was stiff and the bread was soft but really didn’t do anything for me. I ordered the beef burger(medium temperature). When the burger arrived, it looked good. There was a salad with a vinegrette, French fries(har har; I see what they did there), and the burger. The salad was acceptable. It was just a small pile of greens plopped on. I wasn’t expecting it so I was happy to have it there. The fries were generic McDonald’s cut fast food fries that were lightly salted. Once again, not really expecting it and they were ok. Then I took a bite of the burger… Fail. The burger was medium-raw ATBEST. When I order medium, I usually expect for the chef to pull it off when it’s medium and for it to keep cooking on it’s way to me from it’s own residual heat. I really didn’t know I had to bring hunting rifle, camouflage attire, and a flint and steel to eat at a corner bistro… oh wait; I’m not supposed to be camping and hunting for raw beef at lunch! The bun was soft but flavorless. The caramelized onions and mushrooms were actually decent. The meat was luke warm at best and too bloody for my taste. Sure, let me send it back… and have everyone late to get back to work? Oh, did I mention someone had a deadline to get back? So where does the surly French waiter come into play? One of party members ordered a special entrée which included dessert. When we asked him where the dessert was, he said«Oh, you didn’t want any because you have to leave.» Seriously? When we gave him the stink-eye and complained to the manager, they said«Oh, just pick one out from the bakery cabinet». //stink-eye //Do we need to ASK for something that is included in our meal? Do I need to ask for my food to be served on a plate or a fork and knife provided to me to eat? Bottom Line: Johnnie Walker says it best: Keep walking.

Very close to courthouses so convenient for breakfast or lunch. I had scrambled eggs and coffee. Both were very good with excellent service. I will return.

Delicious. Almost everything is homemade, including all the bread and the pâté. The croissants are to die for.

What do I remember about this place other than it was a place to rest while traversing through Downtown? The bread. Great, great bread which they gave me a big basket of while I looked through the menu. I knew I should stop eating it so I would have an appetite for lunch but I kept eating the milky-tasting French bread. They even gave wheat bread but I loved the French bread best. I ordered the $ 8.45 Fougasse Montagnarde. The menu said the owners are from France so I expected a real French treat. The bread surrounding the creamy sauced chicken dish was great. I hate to say it was like a giant hot pocket but that’s pretty much what it was. Or I suppose you could describe it like a more square calzone that was cut in half. All of it was piled on top of salad greens that were very fresh. They refilled my iced tea often and I’d probably come back if I was in the area again to peruse the bakery case. I saw a couple of good deals involving the daily special plus a pastry or the daily special with an iced tea. Not bad for under $ 10. The place really is the epitome of shabby chic. I could feel the people in the booth behind me rocking back. My kidneys didn’t appreciate the greeting. I took down half a star for that. Get new booths! 3.5

I’d been eyeing this place for a while, but after seeing Melissa’s review pop up yesterday, I decided to duck in for my breakfast fix this morning on my way back to the office. It seems as though the place is more inclined to a sit-down crowd, though being right by the courthouses downtown, it doesn’t seem like they’ll get a lot of that outside of lunchtime. I asked if I could get a coffee and a pastry to go, and they ushered me to a counter in the back. There was a lovely selection of pastries to choose from — both French and Latin inspired. I opted for the almond croissant, which was ginormous! I also got a cappucino to go. Not exactly the cheapest breakfast(just over $ 5 for the croissant and coffee), but it was very good. The croissant was moist and flaky, and had an amazing almond cream inside(as it should!). The coffee was hot(freshly-made, just for me!), and the coffee-to-milk ratio was just right. Definitely one of the better cappucinos I’ve had as of late. I glanced at their menu while I was awaiting my coffee, and their lunch offerings look quite yummy. They deliver, but only in the downtown area. The service was very friendly, and I look forward to trying other things…

I’d been meaning to try this place for a while. It’s right next to the family courthouse and near a favorite sandwich place of mine, Red House. My friend and I each opted for a lunch combo. I got the French onion soup, half a nicoise salad, an ice tea, and dessert for $ 11.95. The soup was delicious, perhaps only lacking a bit of salt, but this is certainly preferable to the alternative of over-salting. The salad wasn’t exactly what I expected(shouldn’t there be potatoes and green beens in a nicoise? I’m no French cuisine expert), but it was large for a «half» salad, and very tasty. My friend also got the French onion soup. She opted for a chicken caesar salad which she did not enjoy due to some bland chicken and smooshy«croutons.» As for dessert, we chose an apple tart and an éclair. The were both good, but I wasn’t blown away. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The place seems to be struggling a bit. I hope it holds on long enough to improve and gain a following among the suits downtown. I think it could be on par with La Loggia with a little tweaking of the décor/ambiance and some good advertising.
