Dos Gringos

I give it a star for food. I just moved close to this bar and have been here a few times now. The lunch service is good. The night service is a joke! Where do they find these miserable bartenders who do not give a shit whether you are at their bar or not. They all have constant frowns on their faces and wait for you to wave them down to get a drink. Even when they are slow. I am in the industry… wow this place needs a management/​bartender revamp!!! Sad because the place has potential.
Much better service today. Bartender still likes to stand at service well talking with the waitresses instead of interacting with customers. But at least i wasn’t ignored today. They get a few extra stars this time.

Didn’t honor a written reservation for a large party. No apology or acknowledgment of the mistake just sat us wherever they could fit us.
Phone doesn’t work so you have to email them.
Once we were in the service and food were good.

So, I’m not exactly sure why I was cut off or kicked out. Because I spoke with the manager, and the security manager. And neither seemed to understand why I was kicked out, but neither seemed to be able to do anything about it either. They both said I was respectful to the server and staff. I had ordered one round of drinks for my friends, and paid 100% tip on top of the bill. Literally. But they said I was «over served» despite basically being very kind to the waitstaff and otherwise. So apparently, don’t be kind to the waitstaff, bartenders, or other patrons or you’ll be kicked out? Very bizarre. I spoke with the security and bar management and they both said they didn’t understand why that was the decision. But all my friends were inside that had been drinking for the same amount of time as me. So I’m not sure why I was flagged except that I’m friendly basically. A bit disappointing. Apparently not where you should go to drink if the point is to get drunk? Shame.

This place kicks ass! Had a ton of fun there on our spring training voyage. Can’t wait to jam back out there and see Melissa. Best waitress of all time. I said it!!! Miss her already.

Honestly I really like this place and always have for about 10 yrs… Thing is… In the last few years they have lost their hott female bartenders and incredibly raised the prices I think? A shot of soco lime is 7 bucks some how. The same as a grape bomber. Both of which are high priced in Scottsdale. The place has decent food but totally lost there real following due to over pricing. Welcome to capital inflation without representation. I also remember when they did fun stuff almost everyday and posted it on the chalk wall in the men’s bathroom…

Mediocre food, drinks, and service at best. Didn’t have a great selection of liquor, the tacos were super greasy and the servers hardly ever came by without being flagged down (it was not busy at all). Let’s just sat I won’t be going back.

Some of my girlfriends like to meet here for hh. This was my third time here, we always sit outside… thank goodness. I went to the restroom after we’d already eaten. Seriously, I thought I was in Tijuana when I went inside. I’ve never seen a more disgustingly dirty bathroom this side of the border. The managers of this place should be reprimanded. It’s so nasty, then you pass the kitchen and cringe and try not to look because you know it’s going to make you want to vomit. I just can’t even. There’s no excuse. I don’t want to look at the health code report because I’m pretty sure they don’t even have a «C» in the window.
Service was good… and bottled much ultra you can’t mess up.
Review update! I did check the records and it looks like they have a clean kitchen thank goodness!

Do not eat here!!! I found a RUBBER SPATULA in my taco, and the waitress did not handle the situation well whatsoever. She apologized for my findings, but that was it, no offer for a refund or remake (wouldn’t have accepted but still the offer would’ve been nice). The chef did not even come out and apologize. DISGUSTING. birds flying around the inside as you eat, too ghetto…

Food is pretty good for bar food, and you get a lot. We go during the day with our kid and avoid the crowds. Kids eat free when you buy something for yourself & its not a problem if she runs around the dinning area a little (the actual bar is situated separately) Plenty of room so its not a bother to others.
we would also recommend going for happy hour, we never go out anymore but we would if we had the time, energy, and a babysitter…
Love the gringo style street tacos. Get the carne, they are worth the extra money. I think they are much more tasty than the other options (but all of the options are good).

So, we didn’t eat, but I have to say, the waitresses were very attentive. By time our drinks were a ¹⁄₃ left, they were right there asking to see if we wanted another. Well done.

Crowd was laughable for starters. Went in on Friday night around 10 and it was pretty dead but eventually picked up. My friend and I basically sat and people watched all night which was very easy to do based on the crowd. The staff all seemed over being at work. Didn’t come across one friendly Dos employee that night but what do I know? I don’t work in a bar so maybe it sucks. If I do decide to visit a Dos again it will be the one in Chandler. Much better atmosphere. 2 stars instead of 1 because the drinks were good and cheap.

I invited about 25 people here on Saturday and had a blast! Good atmosphere, good drinks and everyone had a great time! I have friends who live within walking distance and it makes for a great safe night out. There aren’t too many bars in Mesa so this is definitely a good find!

Service is ridiculously bad. Got here at 6:57pm and didn’t even get a menu until 7:17pm.

I fell somewhere in the middle, service was good and friendly, the food was okay not the worst nor the best if eaten, but for a quick lunch… It worked! Fair, is a fair assessment! So therefore the.

Delicious food (had the street tacos, boyfriend had the gringo tacos), even the chips and salsa were yummy, great music and our server, Brandon was so friendly and attentive. We will be back! It is an outside atmosphere so prepare for weather temps, but they have fans.

I wish I could give negative reviews. They just suck. Every time I come here they suck no matter who the Watress is thru take forever and come around every 45 minutes

Ate there today, 3÷8÷15. Food came cold. Sent it back. Waited a long time. The salads and mini tacos were nothing great. The green chili is green enchilada sauce with something else green. Very unremarkable. The drinks were avetage. Check came… we were charged doible. The waiter corrected the bill. Music was loud and obnoxious. We are in our 60s. But still. We wont be returning.

Oh, classic Dos. I’ve been to Dos 100 times, this was the first time I’ve ever eaten here. Had a taco plate with 5 chicken/​chorizo tacos… FREEKIN BOMB!!!
Nice atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon, country music playing thru the speakers, pretty mellow crowd. One waitress it seemed like, but she rocked!

Fun place for the family during the day I wouldn’t recommend kids after dark. This place can get pretty rowdy but also fun. We enjoyed the corn holing game and there’s pool tables inside if that’s money our thing. Great patio seating but can get very warm during the summers down here. The mini chimi’s are very good.

Awesome food. First time here and we will definitely be back for more. Came on a Saturday afternoon with the kids. Ate inside. Kids each had great cheese crisps and wife and I had shredded chicken tacos and chorizo enchiladas. Everything was great. Stayed for some drinks-​$ 3 make your own bloody mary’s– and listened to radical 80s tunes!
Cheap cheap food and really great atmosphere. We’ll see this place again!
