Harry’s Hideaway Bar & Grill

My sweetie and I visited Harry’s last week for happy hour and were not disappointed! The service was excellent! Our server was friendly, funny and attentive! I had the loaded fries and they were da’ bomb! Great place to unwind after work or to meet friends for a drink and munchies! We will definitely be back!

Food is awesome, service at the bar is very good and the bartenders make good drinks. If you go there sit at the bar and you will have a great experience. Where the place lacks is table service. After several visits service is just slow. Waited 20 or 25 minutes after we finished our drinks to get noticed. Could not get the servers attention. We finally got the bar tenders attention paid the check and left.

We’ve been here twice now, both times on a Saturday afternoon. Had a burger the first time. The burger was good but it was not cooked the way I requested. I asked for medium and it was definitely well done. I had a bacon bloody mary, which was good, and a scooner of blue moon. The beer is ice cold and soooo good. Came back a second time and had the pork omelet. That was alright, too. The food isn’t gourmet but does the trick when you’re hungover. Had the pepper bloody mary this time and another blue moon. My cousin’s love the club sandwich here. The service is just ok. Both times we have been the servers have messed up something with our orders.

Once again I am rating based on the overall experience. We’ve been to Harry’s several times for drinks and this was the first time we went with the intention of eating a full meal. With not many options for sit down dining in Meridian it is a quick stop on the way to a movie at the Majestic Theater.
We went on a double date night and the service was not great. I believe there was only one server and she took numerous smoke breaks on the patio while we were there. Our food was pretty good for bar food but the service wasn’t up to par. We actually had to rush our server to pay and we were late to our movie.

When we first walked in our expectations were pretty low. It was later at night and it looked a bit run down. But the staff there were incredibly friendly and the burgers were amazing. I highly recommend getting the mac and cheese for a side. It’s small in portion but it’s absolutely delicious. I got the Hawaiian style burger and the ingredients were fresh and it was very flavorful. We’re definitely going there again.

Had the pork tacos on Tuesday night. Worst meal I’ve ever had. Best to avoid. Sitting here ill as I type this!

Been there several times. atmosphere and food are really good but the waitresses are lousy! Had the same 2 there every time we go… one is super ditsy and the other is extremely rude! It would definitely be one of the best bars in the area if it weren’t for them!
We will go back on occasion because of the food, but can t stand dealing with them on a regular basis! Get some new girls and you’ll have regulars!!!

Happy holidays sign still up and it’s January 31. No where near ready to serve breakfast when they opened at 9. Bar stools still upside down on bar, kitchen not ready at 9, was told they had to «warm things up», food was pretty good though. Management needs to have place ready by opening and take down Halloween decorations and Christmas messaging.

Took my son in there for a beer and a sandwich on a Saturday afternoon. We sat at the bar and it took almost 8 minutes to even get a hello. The place wasn’t busy. Bartender was too busy chatting with friends or regulars. Strike one. We got our beer and never got asked if we wanted food. Our beer was empty by the time she came back, remind you we are sitting at the bar. She again was to walk off when I asked her if they had food. She never responded and simply put two menus in front of us. Strike two. Again, another 15 minutes to get her attention to place a lunch order.
The food was not worth the long wait. We both had pastrami and the meat was fatty/​chewy and barely noticeable. I told her and showed her and she apologized and asked if we wanted a different sandwich. I said no and asked for the bill, with most of our sandwiches still on the plate and we were done eating. No discount, nothing and we left and went elsewhere to have lunch. Strike three.
Never again.

Stopped for a beer and a bite after a long day at work. Great drink specials tonight! Beer for a buck! That’s awesome. And I got a tip from a great source that the Cuban Sandwich and mac and cheese are very good. And he was right. The mac and cheese is gourmet. Sat at the bar where the bartender and server were very friendly! Spent some time looking at the menu and the specials during the week and weekend and they are some of the best I’ve seen. I’m so glad I gave this place another try.

So me and some friends decided to go out for a cocktail and some appetizers. Big mistake choosing Harrys as our destination primary due to the poor service we received. Waiter check back time was terrible. We wanted to try some of entrées but where told that the kitchen was closed by our server. Then ½ hour later food was cooked and being served to new patrons. We asked the waiter if it was just a mirage that we saw food going out, and he said he couldn’t control the cooks. Hope your experience will be better than mine.

Burger was eh. Small meat patty large bun. Fries were good fry sauce was good. Chips and salsa were not so good. Fried pickle spears were good. Boneless wings were ok. Didn’t care for the sauce. I tend to like it a little more spice an a little less sweat. My wife got the cordon blue sandwich and I tried it it was tasty. Good atmosphere.

We go here almost every Sunday for Hideaway Mac ‘n Cheese (sooooo good!). The coffee is pretty good.
Suggestions for Harry’s: 1. Atmosphere is depressing. 2. We have had GREAT servers and lousy servers. They’re usually working alone covering the bar and the tables, which is never realistic.

Was there for my birthday. First time there since it changed from old location and from what I hear new owners and you could tell. Waitress was prompt but clueless. I had the finger steaks with coleslaw and the Mrs had chicken wings. The blue cheese dressing was watery and tasteless and the wings average at best. My finger steaks were over cook in dirty oil and tough, maybe freezer burnt. The coleslaw was as bland as it could get. Tasted like cabbage with some sort of watery fluid added.
The other thing I hate is how many strip mall bars really go cheap on acoustics of the place i.e. bare ceilings with all duct work and poor electrical craftsmanship and wires exposed which creates a very edgy, harsh and noisy atmosphere even with only a small crowd. Then when you add a poor sound system for the sports events on tv it really gets bad. And lastly as it was my b-​day the wife mentioned it our waitress, as every bar I’ve ever been to offers a free drink to celebrate and the waitress totally ignore it. Oops there went a good tip:)
2 bad meals, 2draft beers, 2 weak drinks all for a $ 50 bill. Not again

Nothing to rave about. Marginal food. Slow service. Fairly nice atmosphere. Ok to stop in if your in the area. But not a destination establishment.

My girlfriend and I were super hungry for breakfast on Saturday morning and we’re driving down Overland and she wants Merritt’s and I want food NOW! I spotted Harry’s and saw their breakfast sign on the window and pulled in. It’s a pretty sick atmosphere with more TVs than BestBuy and wall art to keep you distracted from whatever you need distracted from. We ordered the mimosas which were FABULOUS and put in our breakfast order. I had the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. The bacon was cooked exactly how I love it without even asking! Not all crunchy and sh*t like everywhere else but not too undercooked. Just right-​floppy, juicy, and heavenly. My biscuits and gravy were so bomb! My girl had a ham and veggie omelet which she devoured. We both ate until we thought we would explode and ended up with take home boxes that made a great lunch with still awesome portion sizes.
Well, that awesome experience left us coming back for lunch today (I’m writing this from the table). We ordered up a couple of Bud Lights and I ordered the Reuben with onion rings. My Reuben was pretty good as far as Reuben’s go especially for bar fare! It’s probably top 3 in the Treasure Valley. Onion rings were awesome and you can tell they were cooked in fresh oil since they weren’t overly greasy. My date had the fish and chips but instead of the chips she had the Hideaway Mac & Cheese. So we’ve started calling this plate the Hideaway fish. in case you want to be cool and ask for it. The Hideaway Mac & Cheese was soooo good and has a little kick to it which makes you dive back to your ice cold beer (cute trick, Harry), and the fish (like the onion rings) was cooked perfectly and you could tell it wasn’t frozen and was cooked in fresh oil.
We are totally digging this place and will continue to come back! Great service, clean, and damn good food!

Excellent job hosting 50 luncheon attendees. Service was great and food was awesome!

My husband and I decided to try Harry’s Hideaway out since it was under new ownership and had supposedly been revamped. We walked in and it was fairly busy. We found a table within arms reach of the bar. We literally sat there for 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged. I was grabbing my purse to leave when the waitress finally approached us. She took our drink order and that took about 10 minutes to get. Which is fine. We ordered wraps and when we got them after my second bite I bit into something hard, it was a broken piece of toothpick! It didn’t come from the toothpick that was in my wrap though. My husband ordered the teriyaki chicken wrap and it was soaked and soggy by the time he received it. Again, we had to wait 40 plus minutes before our waitress came to check on us. The bartender noticed that we were out of drinks, food was done and pushed to the edge of the table and we were ready to leave. She asked if we needed anything and we told her we just want our ticket so we can go. In conclusion, the service is really crappy and food was just average.
on a side note… the couple sitting at the table behind us had the same experience (no service) and walked out the door behind us.

Service was very bad. Ordered our beers and asked the waitress to come back for our food order. We didnt see our waitress fo 30 mins. I asked a go-​waitress to let our waitress know we were ready. The go-​between waitress was appologtic and tried to rationalize the long wait because they were busy… Ummm. Tables had come in after we got our beers and were half way done with their meals before our waitress came back to check on us (and thats by request).
Ordered the wings and they were horrible. Wings were soggy and rubbery … and the wierd onions on top gave the wings a wierd taste.
Other people in our party said the burgers and steak fries were good. thats why they got 2 stars.
