Still amazing sushi! However, the drinks were not very good. I sent back the first drink because it did not taste good at all. The second drink was a Pina Colada. It was better but really heavy on the cream. Made it harder to drink with that much cream and was weird cause it was on the rocks and not blended. I love the place because of the sushi and environment but the drinks could definitely improve.

This place gets so packed especially on Fridays so having a reservations by phone is awesome! I’ve been here a couple of times but I’m gonna do review based on tonight! So we came 15 minutes early & surprisingly we were able to get a table as soon as we got in so that was sweet! We got a free appetizer, thanks Unilocal which was good, the chicken & shrimp lettuce wraps. Sashimi was yum according to my expert hubs & the Hawaiian steak was good as well. Overall, food was great. We also had a sweet & smiling server!

I came in today for my first time, and I was very impressed! Right off the bat I was taken by the bright, contemporary atmosphere inside. My dining companions and I sat right near the large fish tank which I thought it was such a cool touch. The tank was incredibly clean and stocked with some very cool exotic fish, fun for adults and especially kids to look at while you dine! We all started with iced tea, I tried the blackberry and the hibiscus teas. Both were very floral, bright and totally refreshing. I appreciated that they came unsweetened, with just a lemon wedge and sugar on the side should you choose to add it. I ordered the jambalaya, my husband ordered the lobster mac, and his grandma opted for the seared tuna. My jambalaya was AMAZING, I mean seriously, it was on point. If you’re like me and you enjoy a healthy dose of spice this certainly won’t disappoint. I also tried the lobster mac and cheese and it was insanely good, not to mention loaded with lobster meat! I think Kona Grill is my new favorite place for seafood here in town. Our waiter was very polite, helpful and professional and one of the managers was walking around the restaurant checking on tables so that was very nice. My only sad moment was when I accidentally spilled my drink after we had paid and nobody came to help us get it cleaned up, which totally wasn’t a big issue. It just would have been nice to get some extra napkins. All in all, we had a wonderful lunch and I can’t wait to come back and try some more of the menu! :)

This place was awesome. I wish I could give it a perfect 10. 10 on service, 10 food, 10 on décor! I was in Meridian for work and an elementary school friend suggested that if I go to the Village at Meridian to try Kono Grill. So I dragged my coworker’s for lunch. It was a bit pricey for the area but we’ll worth it. I loved it so much I brought another coworker who was also away from home to try it for dinner the very same night. He loved it so much that he took our VP of sales there for lunch the next day. That alone has to say something for this establishment. Next time I’m in town I’ll be back for sure. I highly recommend their avocado egg rolls to start! They had an amazing sushi roll in soy paper with crispy shrimp, mango, nuts and cream cheese, somet h ING I would usually skip in my sushi but OMG yum! I ordered their trio street taco special, one was fresh fish another was Lobster with corn and the third was shredded pork with figs. The pork one was by far my favorite. For dinner we got the same things but also the miso seabass and a crunchy crab roll. The dessert was every bit as yummy. I asked for the Key lime pie, they way they packaged it to go made it even more appealing. What a treat. Make sure you try thus gem if you find yourself at the Village in Meridian Idaho!

I love Kona Grill. Fresh fish, awesome rolls, and great drinks. The only complaint I have is that the sashimi portions seems to be somewhat inconsistent, but that’s likely due to the piece of fish they are working with on a given day.

This was our 5th time visiting Kona. Service was absolutely terrible! Our server acted as if we were bothering him. We told him at the beginning we would need separate checks, no big deal. He only came back to our table once after our food came. Kona Grill is just an overprices mess of a restaurant! Not impressed, and this will be my last time visiting.

We had dinner here as a family. The food here isn’t bad. A bit pricey overall. One of our meals was too spicy and we sent it back. With one bite out of the sandwich they charged us full price and decided to tack on a set of fries for an additional $ 3 to make us happy. We weren’t happy about how they charged us. I guess we wont be going here anymore since their customer service was terrible. I was very calm and also very surprised we were treated that way. The manager refused to accommodate also.

A great happy hour place! But I don’t like the food enough to go consistently not at happy hour. Buy the most expensive middle section of the sushi options on the happy hour menu because it comes with so much more fish. The cheaper sushi on the happy hour menu is a lot of rice but so cheap it’s not bad. The avocado egg roll is good but is really just deep fried boats filled with avocado. Great dirty martini but $ 1.25 more for the olives that aren’t that great. Service is always awesome!

I was so excited about going to Kona Grill. I’ve heard great things. I ordered the Pad Tai, it was Bad Tai. The shrimp was so small, i thought it was canned. The presentation was terrible. The Sushi display was Gorgeous, too bad I’m not a fan. The service was more than lacking. It took 30 minutes to get a soda, never was I offered a refill, It saddens me to give this review. I never want too be the author of an unfavorable review.

We came to Kona Grill on a Sunday night and were pleasantly surprised to learn it was happy hour! The happy hour menu was a great value, and we all enjoyed the sushi rolls. My favorite was the wave roll. We also ordered the Gouda fondue, lettuce wraps, bulgogi tacos, and a BBQ flatbread. All were delicious but if I could only pick one, I would get the tacos. The fondue was tasty but my daughter was really disappointed that they were out of the pretzels that are normally served with it. We agreed to substitute garlic bread for dipping instead of the pretzels and I thought it was a good substitution. Service was excellent. Our servers were attentive and the management came by and checked on us a couple of times. I liked that it wasn’t really loud in the bar area. I didn’t feel like I had to strain myself to hear or be heard. Also, the area we were in was really comfortable temperature-wise. Most restaurants I go to are uncomfortably cold, but this place was perfect, even as the first snow of the year was falling just outside. I would definitely recommend this place.

Kona Grill is one of our top spots in the area for happy hour, as it offers it until 7pm which most of the restaurants in town stop theirs at 6pm. Kona is upbeat, one of the busiest places in the village with a menu that is filled with a big variety and lots of tasty food. There’s something for everyone at Kona! The only thing I wish is that the bar area wasn’t open seating… table sharks are on the frenzy there when it’s busy. Food: Oh gosh, the food at Kona is great. From their appetizers like lettuce wraps and avocado egg rolls to their flatbreads and sushi(crab crunch & bama rolls are great!), and all the way over to their pad Thai… it’s all good. They also have an excellent dessert menu, with a delicious piece of key lime pie being the highlight. Drinks: The drinks are great. They have a good sangria, which is loaded with big chunks of fruit, and nice margaritas. I just love the happy hour prices for the drinks – it’s hard to beat. Atmosphere: This is the one thing that gets me down about Kona. We love to sit in the bar area when we go out, and as Kona is a first-come, first-serve open seating in the bar, it makes for a very uncomfortable environment whether you’re on the lookout for a table or whether you’re the one dining and feeling like the table sharks are hovering. It’s a bummer! If you want to avoid it, you can put your name in but you’ll face a pretty big wait to be sat for the most part. Other than that, the ambiance is really nice, with their water features, comfortable seats, blue lights and fancy tables. It seems like a very upscale spot! Service: Noah in the bar is our favorite. We often sit in the bar area and they’re super quick to help out their tables. No complaints on service! Happy Hour Offerings: Later happy hour than most, which goes from 3 – 7 M-F and late happy hour only on the weekends. They have a TON of food and drink specials on their happy hour with really reasonable prices. Healthy Hack: The appetizer chicken satay and lettuce wraps make a great option. I pull apart my butter lettuce and turn my lettuce wraps into a small salad which fills me up with out a massive amount of calories. Tips: Check your receipts for offers of a free dessert upon survey evaluation. The survey takes less than 5-min(if the online version doesn’t work, just call in), and then you get a free dessert! Lucky you!

I actually quite liked this place on prior visits, so you can imagine my disappointment when I received my sushi with short brown hairs on it. Yes it was replaced, but I could barely stomach to eat the new plate of food as I was considerably disgusted. The server also forgot to put in our appetizer, which we cancelled, and the manager said he would take care of dessert as an apology. However, after we’d ordered dessert and the check came, we noticed that we had been charged for dessert. The manager curtly explained that he had meant he would only comp ONE dessert for our 4 person party as though we were trying to take advantage of his generosity. Needless to say, the tip was deservedly slight. Will not be back.

Nice place! Came here tonight with a large group(24 people, 3 tables), and service was very good still! Nice relaxing atmosphere, and good variety of menu items. I had the sea bass, highly recommended by our waitress. It is marinated for 72 hours, and I asked for double vegetables instead of the rice which they allowed. We also had the shrimp Diablo(spicy snd very good) and the calamari(good). My friend had pad Thai and really enjoyed it. The snickers Deseret looked good and was devoured up by others at our table as was the carrot cake. Beautiful fountains outside make a nice setting. Give this place a try!

Was here with my mother during happy hour. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the patio and near the water fountains. Made us feel like we were in a vacation. We ordered two expensive dishes here but they weren’t good:(but the tea was good:)

Grill Kona(Matata), what a wonderful place Grill Kona(Matata), it’s my new home base It means no worries, no matter what’s on your plate Food’s locally made; Coffee’s Fair Trade Grill Kona(Matata) Kona is one of those restaurants where you can close your eyes and point to the menu for the waitress and it doesn’t matter what you order, it will be great. I’ve had rare steak and tuna which were so tender, I could cut them with the handle of my fork. I don’t recommend doing so because then your handle is covered with raw fish, but the option is there. The service is attentive and seems genuinely concerned with our experience. The décor is beautiful; many glass and water sculptures, waterfalls, a very nice custom aquarium. The general feel of the place, and of «The Village» in general is of happy, progressive fun. Everyone seems glad to be there. The price is manageable but if you aren’t careful, it is not at all difficult to hit $ 100 for two people, even without alcohol. There are many lower-cost and probably still very good items on the menu. Try the Brownie dessert. Brownies are hard to screw up, but it is also very difficult to make an exceptional brownie. Kona has among the best I have had.

Good happy hour menu. I had the margarita on the rocks, rolls(half off), calamari($ 6), and more calamari because they are just really good. The server is very cool, I think his name is Kevin(tall). He got our order right and quick. Loving the place, good food, and good location.

Came here on a busy Saturday afternoon for a party planning session over lunch with a friend. We were seated promptly and our drink order was taken immediately. Our server took the time to go over both their seasonal and regular menus with us. I settled on the caesar salad with salmon added. The caesar was everything a caesar ought to be – fresh and flavorful with what appeared to be freshly made in house croutons. The salmon was the star of the show. It was moist, nicely peppered, and absolutely delicious. My dining companion ordered their chopped chicken salad and raved about the flavor as well. The manager came over to say hello and encouraged us to try the cheesecake on their new seasonal menu. He said, «I’m from Jersey and I know my cheesecake – we really took the time to perfect it.» Authentic NY style cheesecake? You don’t have to tell me twice! My dining companion shared an ample slice. It was, in a word: amazing. Rich, creamy, and featured a drizzle of raspberry sauce that was the just the right amount of tart of offset the sweet cheesecake. Holy loveliness! My understanding is that everything is made entirely fresh. From their grill options to their dessert sauces. They also have a fun cocktail menu that we didn’t partake from but which I look forward to sampling from in the future! The service was on point throughout our visit. This was particularly awesome given my friend and I got caught up in chatting and party planning – and the next thing you know we’d been there for a few hours. They never rushed us or made us feel anything but welcome. I so appreciate this as I know our taking up a table that long may have been a little inconvenient(totally lost track of time – sorry!). What a great group of servers they have here! The atmosphere is modern and chic and lent to the overall awesome experience. Get to it!

We really enjoyed our lunch here on a recent trip to Boise. Our Server could not have been any better. He had an awesome attitude and really seemed to care about our experience… kudos! As for the food, all of us enjoyed our meals. We started with a spicy salmon roll. Very good. Husband really liked his Cuban with sweet potato fries. Other likes were for the Shrimp Salad, and in my case for the Chicken Pad Thai. Overall, this is a lovely, comfortable restaurant with good food and great service!
