My wife and I purchased our wedding bands here 10 years ago following a bad experience at a local competitor, and then a recommendation of Yacoubian. I can’t say enough good things about these folks. We now live 6 hours away, and returned here when we needed to purchase new rings. After lots of experience with other jewelers, nothing lived up to our original experience here. We just stopped in today, and our memories served us right. Great experience again! We didn’t even get anything they had in stock, but they were happy to work with us and order what we needed. In the era of the«big box» jewelry stores, you really owe it to yourself to check this place out and see the personal attention you really get at a «Mom and Pop» establishment.

I have this ring. The band is crap but the stones are worth something. We’ve taken it to several Jewelers who have all identified it as white Topaz. I don’t wear the ring so we decided we should sell it. While driving down Poplar we saw their sign said«we buy estate jewelry» so we stopped to go in. My arm was in a sling so my husband was holding our toddler who was very quietly snuggling his stuffed monkey. We were approached by a man who I am assuming is the owner. We handed him the ring. He looked it over with his naked eye for all of 12 seconds and handed it back to us. No jewelers loop, nothing. I’m not a jeweler, but I know enough to know that you can’t tell some gems from the naked eye, so giving a ring a once over without a loop isn’t going to give you a good idea of what the stones are. If he wasn’t interested he should have just said they don’t buy pieces just for the stones. Instead he was nasty and condescending, here is the conversation that followed: Me: I know the band is brass, but the stones are real. Owner:(after looking for 12 seconds) it’s worthless(hands me back the ring, he’s clearly annoyed at this point) Me: what about the stones? My husband: do you know any place that would buy just the stones? There is value to the stones. Owner: The ring is crap.(I kid you not he actually came out and said this and my husband and I exchanged looks of disbelief) Me: I’ve had several other jewelers look at this ring and they all felt there was value to the stones. Owner: they don’t know what they were talking about. If you want I can sell you a CZ that size for $ 10. Me: it’s not a very good CZ then.(I’m a little aggravated at this point because he was being so rude to us because he realized we weren’t going to buy anything.) Owner: It’s better than that crap! My husband: You didn’t even look through the loop, she could have handed you a white sapphire and you wouldn’t have known. I was just disgusted by his behavior. 2014 is our 10 year anniversary, I can tell you where we WON’T be going for jewelry.

I am a first time buyer looking for a nice ring. This store was small and you wouldn’t think much of it looking at it from the outside. But they had a nice selection inside with the ability to order anything I wanted. It is run by a husband and wife — and they were the nicest people to work with. I will return here in the future. Much better than your large chain jewelry stores.
