Steak’n Shake

Uuuhhh again I take the risk!!! Still truly terrible drive thru… I guess they stopped giving out receipts so u can’t report them… Second time I haven’t gotten a receipt and they gave me the wrong burger!!! COLD as ice! I ordered the Wisconsin buttery and they gave me a regular single… REALLY! SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED! As soon as another all night burger joint opens near me I’m NEVER coming back! KRYSTALS WHERE ARE YOU!!! Does anyone kno if the owner can be reached???

This restaurant have a very clean environment for customer to dine-​in. Service is decent, at least the time I visit. Food great. But the food this time was not very good. You can always try and see.

Worst drive thru service I have experienced. Very disorganized and extremely slow. I’m not sure if our drinks did not have ice or if it melted during the wait.

There is just something about the burgers and fries here. I love the shoestring fries and they always bring them to me nice and crispy. My trip here was no different and the service was absolutely great. I was with my father in law and he even pointed out how clean this Steak N Shake was so much cleaner than most he had been in. I wish I could remember our servers name because she was so great. She was there around 11:30am on Friday 6 Nov and she was awesome.
I will stick with what I said in my review of a different Steak N Shake and say all Steak N Shake should get rid of the drive through because the wait is rediculous. Good thing I wasn’t in that line on this day and the only chance I will take to come to a Steak N Shake again due to that experience is if I come to this one and if that same server us working.

This Steak’n Shake is the worst one I’ve ever been in. The first time we went the service was awful. They were busy, but not so busy that it should’ve been as bad as it was. We waited for our food for so long and when it arrived it was luke warm at best. Terrible experience. We decided to try it one more time. This time they weren’t as busy. They seated us and we waited around for someone to greet us or take our drink orders or something for 45 minutes. The servers were just standing around talking. So we just got up and left. They made sure to tell us to have a good night on the way out the door though. The drive thru is horrible as well. I don’t expect to wait an hour for my food when going through a drive through. I will not be going back to this particular steak’n shake. It just isn’t worth the hassle. I’d rather drive farther to get better service.

There are burger shops that you just go to get a quick bite and out you go, then there are shops you go in not knowing what to expect… well was I surprised!
This place is a feel good, no rush and server was just outstanding! Kudos to Shelby D!
Food was great*

Good breakfast. Came in after a full morning to get some good breakfast. Coffee stayed filled and the food was appetizing. The food was cooked correctly and tasted great. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Great experience at this location! Will come back in the future.

Horrible service late at night. Sat for over 25 minutes and no one even came to ask what drinks we wanted. Will not be going back

Not only was my patty melt perfection, my turtle caramel shake sumptuous, but also our server, Talor, made sure we were waited on. Everything was perfect, including the thunderstorm and downpour. We just don’t get those in California. Thank you, Talor.

We had fast and courteous service. A great place for an inexpensive lunch with the whole family. We will definitely be back soon.

Food is good. But why do I have to wait 20+ minutes in drive thru. Been here for 10 minutes. Haven’t moved and people are just driving off. Don’t think the personal have to much customer service care in mind when they work the drive thru. Sad because the food is good here.

There are a few times in life when you want (need) a milkshake, French fries, hamburger or chicken tenders !
Well if that sounds like something you like Steak ‘n Shake is the spot for you !! So go to this crazy kool diner and order anything on the menu cause it’s always good
However sometimes the service is not that great !! But if you go on a good day you are sure to be impressed

Best place to go when you are on a budget but want delicious gourmet burgers and fries. They are open ²⁴⁄₇ which is amazing. You never know when you’re gonna crave a juicy burger. The milkshakes are so creamy and delicious. Big enough for two people to share. This is one of my favorite burger joints.

My experiences at this Steak and Shake have been far more promising than the other location on Hacks Cross. The service here is more friendly and the food is prepared in more expedient fashion. And of course, the food tastes like any other Steak and Shake (which in my opinion is awesome). For you newbies to Steak and Shake, the burgers are good, the fries bland unless you request a seasoning (it’s 29 cents, just do it), and the shakes are amazing. I’d recommend their garlic double; it’s never let me down!

This review is based on the work ethic of the Servers and the Manager.
We come to this restaurant every now and then and the food is always up to Steak and Shake standards. However, the employees do not work as a team. Meaning when the restaurant is busy and the Servers should be pitching in by helping to clean their tables, they don’t. Leaving the hosts to do all the work.
My husband and I are both from the restaurant industry and know it inside and out. For a restaurant to run properly, there needs to be teamwork.
Servers should be picking up plates as they go, but instead they leave their tables dirty while a line forms, out the door.
It is ridiculous.

If this place is representing the fabulous 50’s, then Elvis has definitely left the building in a mad dash based on today’s service and food quality.

Of the three Steak n Shake’s in the Memphis area, this is the only that is acceptible. The other two are just horrible — Southaven because of bad service and Southwind because of cleanliness (or lack thereof).
But this location is pretty much OK. I’ve been to other Steak n Shake’s on the road that are actually great. Unfortunately, we get the shaft in the Memphis area. Perhaps they are all owned/​managed by the same group that just doesn’t care that much. Tis a shame cause they could be so much better.

Ehh. I’ve been coming to this Steak ‘n Shake for years (YEARS!!) so I feel I can give a good enough review, not just taking one crap experience into account or anything.
At any place like this, the service can be spotty. When you’re going somewhere at 2 am, the service can definitely be spotty. But I’m sorry, the past few times I’ve gone, it’s gotten more and more to «the service was the worst» rather than «well, it was okay I guess» and I just can’t forgive that. I could just go through the drive-​through if I wanted the food without the service. If I’m seated at a table though, I expect decent service. Not a waiter focusing more one of their other three tables.
My suggestion? Just go through the drive-​through (save on the tip), take it home.

I’ve seen the new ads for a $ 3.99 combo, so on the way home I couldn’t resist, time to try one. Been years since I’ve been in a Steak & Shake. Well, it will be years before I go back.
The drive thru line was long so I went inside, sat at the bar, ordered quickly. Unfortunately, there were a couple of gents, acting like monkeys, at the bar. Damn this, damn that, F this, F that, cutting up with the cooks. I thought, where in the hell is the manager. Oops, my bad, evidently they either knew the manager or were kin to her? I think she was the manager, as the idiots went behind the counter to talk to her a couple of times, & share a few profanities.
As I left, a foursome… around 70 yrs old, came in. I thought, good luck finding a seat where you don’t hear the monkeys. If I had stayed there longer, I think I’d have cooked some monkey stew.

I love Steak n Shake! The food is always delicious. The wait can be a little long but I’d say it’s worth it. I wish there was still one in Jonesboro but I don’t mind having to wait to be in Memphis to eat there!
