The fried green tomatoes alone is reason enough to give this place 5⁄5 stars! The food was consistently good, every item I ordered was delicious. Great local beer selection and the live music was fun but not overwhelming. The servers were really friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place!

I went to lunch at Lafayette’s last week with a friend and had an incredible burger — the Overton Burger. Now, you may have had the Overton Burger already, but this was my first trip. Talk about flavor — mmmm, this one is full of it. What got me first was the Sriracha mayonnaise and pepper jack cheese. Wow! After that, thevlong strips of bacon and the fried onions led the way to a wonderful burger — oh, and don’t forget the great tasting fries. I could go on, but you need to experience this meal for yourself. You will leave satisfied. This may have been my first visit to Lafayette’s Music Room, but hey — I’ll be going back! Besides, nobody was playing at lunch — gotta check out the sounds too, you know.

It was our 1st visit to lafayettes on a Sunday afternoon. I had been waiting for months to visit this restaurant due to the live music and patio. We were seated quickly, waited on promptly, and got to enjoy some great blue grass music(which is my favorite). We were disappointed in the flavor of our food. We ordered a burger and salmon sandwich. They were both pretty bland, and were served with way too many fries. Perhaps we chose the wrong entrees. For our appetizer, we had the crab dip and bread, which was good. I would come back for the music and patio, but food flavor is lacking.

Not bad, not great. Patio is nice for people watching. My husband got a brunch burger that ended coming on a hoagie bun(not mentioned on menu) — It was too hard to eat and fell apart. The chicken biscuit benedict was pretty, but a bit runny and didn’t have enough chicken. We left disappointed.

Great place to catch some great live blues. It’s a clean place and every seat has a great view of the stage because of the balcony. There was no smoking and plenty of staff that made for great service. Sometimes Beale St. can be a bit crowded and kinda dangerous. This is in a very trendy and upscale location that had alot of nice restaurants and seemed safe. They also have a great looking menu even though we had already had dinner and just came for the music.

I great New Orlean’s style experience! Extensive menu with a lot to choose from. I had the fish tacos, which were good(could have done without the sauce on the taco, but if you like a sweet Cajun taste you will enjoy) and the chicken and sausage gumbo, which I really enjoyed. My friend had a turkey sandwich which he also liked, it also didn’t hurt that the sandwich was a very large serving that could be easily shared by two. The best was the dessert of the Beignets that were served drizzled with Caramel sauce. Loved the atmosphere, there is seating up and downstairs and a very nice stage area for nightly bands. Can’t wait to go back!

Wings were very tasty. Crawfish pizza needed more flavor, it was flat. On the good side hot and the service was very good. Would come back. Waiting on the music.

Get the mussels! I think it’s an appetizer, but it is so satisfying & rich! The sauce is thick & perfect for dipping.

This is one of my favorite brunch spots in Memphis! I love that their menu includes a wide variety, and you can order pizza if you want. The music here is always good and different! It includes a wide variety of artists but I’ve enjoyed everyone I’ve seen. Warning: don’t come here on a first date if you are trying to get to know someone — it is LOUD. Lafayettes has a great second level ideal for renting out. They do a great job with catering and having another bar upstairs too!

The food has always been consistently very good. The oysters are awesome. The Blackened Mahi is great. All of the poboys are great. I am not typically going to hear the music, but the music has added to the experience every time. Tonight we were treated to the Memphis Ukelele Band and they were awesome! Would have been five stars but the service suffers some when the bands start. Not a big deal for the people showing up for the bands, but bothersome for me, just coming to dine.

Dropped in in a Tuesday night for a Cody Jinks show and was very pleasantly surprised with the venue. I had been wanting to visit for some time and this show finally provided motivation to do so. I made reservations 2 days in advance for our party via opentable which was nice. I specified we would like a table down front for the show and they obliged. Service was reputed to be questionable and I will say that is what stopped this from being a 5 star review. Our guy seemed to try hard but went large stretches of absence where he could be seen just watching the show from the back of the room. We ordered dinner. I had the crawfish pizza. We had the rotel as an app. The rotel was more like a cup of molten cheese with a few shards of tomato on top. The pizza was essentially a thin crust with a few bits of crawfish scattered and topped with a large swoosh of the creole style sauce that seemed like a spicy mayo. Overall the food was decent but unimpressive. Our friends seemed to to do better with a burger and some tuna atop a corn Base… Both of which were very good. The stage is well positioned with hardly a bad seat in the house. The sound system is excellent… Not too loud. well balanced and clear. Drinks were reasonable with $ 5 local craft pints and $ 4 domestics. Bathrooms were clean and sufficient to handle the near capacity crowds without waits. Overall I’d say this is an excellent music venue, but there are much better dining options nearby. Eat before the show next time. Service seems to be improving but still isn’t QUITE there.

Funny story, ever on the Great Bellini Hunt, we were headed for a new restaurant. We walked in, were immediately greeted and seated and our waiter came by within a few minutes. My Bellini order was accepted with a smile and delivered before the waters with the comment, «There are many ways to make a Bellini and this is one of them.» He walked on before I could ask. I took a sip and it was not what I expected… When he came back, we asked and were told that they have no peach purée and made the beverage with champagne, peach Schnapps and vodka. To jump ahead, we were talking too much and walked in the wrong door. They don’t offer what I ordered and simply created one for me. I have to give points for that! Beverage aside, the second floor patio is a great place to spend an afternoon! It provides a great view of the street for some quality people watching. Onto the food! I ordered the Grillades and Grits. It tasted like meatloaf stew. Sounds odd, but it was so good! The little carrot pieces were delicious! Try it!

LOVETHISPLACE!!! Great live bands. Good food. Nice people. Great place to visit! However the servers stay busy so don’t go if you are dying of hunger at midnight on a Friday night.

This is one of the places opened up in the newly hip and happening Overton Sq. My god, has this place transformed or what! Transformed still doesn’t do justice to describe it! 5 years ago this place only had Boscos in the area and now it’s like a sea full of new, cool joints! Lafayette’s is one of them. Blues and Country music to accompany the food and drinks? Sign me up! It’s a 2-storeyed, HUGE restaurant/bar. It has an outdoor terrace/patio and view is spectacular! Food is also just as delicious — Fried green tomatoes, kebabs, salads! We enjoyed a couple of pints of the local Memphis beer(which is also something new that’s come up in the past 5 years!) and downed all the food! Service was quick and impeccable! Keep it up, Lafayette’s!

Sitting at the top with a beautiful view of S Cooper St — our waitress Stacey is so sweet and hospitable. Horray to Lafayette’s for amazing live music and a great scenic view! Sunday Brunch really rocks!

Very disappointed in Lafayette’s last Saturday night. I was with a party of 10, and despite putting our name on the waitlist we gave up and left after not getting a table(after 90 minutes had passed). We went across the street to another place, and noticed that after another hour had passed they *still had not called us for a table. I also noticed that Lafayette’s was extremely loud. You could barely hear yourself talk, and it was hard to hear the musicians performing.

I had a wonderful time! The band’s were great but we wanted to have dinner and it was over an hour wait… I just can’t do that so next… It did smell wonderful but maybe next time! Super nice people and great environment!

I thoroughly enjoyed my first visits to Lafayette Music Room. When I first walked in I was impressed with the layout, stage and upstairs area. There was a band playing but the music wasn’t so loud that we had to yell. We were there for Sunday brunch so it wasn’t too packed. I requested a table upstairs. Thy have a bar upstairs and downstairs. The food was great! I had the Classic French Toast and a side of scrambled eggs with cheese. They use thick Texas toast and real eggs served with warm maple syrup. It’s was absolutely delicious! My husband had the Lafayette Breakfast Plate: eggs, grits, bacon and a biscuit. I can only assume he enjoyed it because there was nothing left lol. This was a very nice spot and I can’t wait to go back and check out happy hour.

MUSIC — the music here is banging. I thoroughly enjoyed all the live acts they had on 1÷10÷15(saturday) FOOD — Just aites. I think its a bit overpriced for the portion sizes. Pizzas are very minimal(but they smell good). I ordered the SALMONSALAD for $ 15. The salmon on top was great! The portion was large, and it came out grilled/hot. However, the leaves were apologetically sparse. They did include all the things i LOVE in my salad… but the biggest portion of a salad are the leaves. Therefore, if you dont got the leaves, you dont got a salad. namsayin? I do like that they give you the water in a big plastic cup, so you don’t have to keep asking for multiple refills. SERVICE — Okay. Long story short, they wouldn’t let us do reservations for saturday. thats fine, we’er not worried. We all arrived at 6PM on a saturday. They told us the wait was an hour. An hour later, they told us another 30 min. after that extra 30 min, we had to wait another hour until we were able to get seated. Summary: we waited 2.5 hours for a table. Granted, our party was 18 people, but we told them we could split it up anywhere they needed us to. The wait isnt the big deal, it was how they treated us during the process. They were rude about our party being so large, and even when we were patient about the situation. conclusion: i would go for the music and the atmosphere. Definitely have patience if you’re coming on a weekend. Food is aites. but music is bomb!

Yet another amazing transformation in Overton Square. When I first walked into Lafayette’s during it’s opening week, all I could say was, «Wow!» It’s beautiful! The entire second floor overlooks the first, and the stage is the main focus. This is the only place in Midtown where you will find live music seven days a week. I’m giving Lafayette’s 4 stars based on it’s location and quality entertainment. I live close by, so I have visited on several occasions and the music has been excellent every single time. This would have been a 5 star review if not for a couple of drawbacks. First, there is very little room to dance because they have too many tables. When I’m having a good time and listing to some great music, I want to dance! And I need space, people! Second, there is only one bathroom, which is inconvenient if you are hanging out upstairs. Third, the upstairs can become very warm due to the brick and fire pizza oven. Also, the food is not that great… but I don’t come here to eat.
