I was here to shoot and film for a performer at the lounge. Cameron Bethany, a great friend, had his birthday at this venue where he performed the same night. Also helped that I went to school with the owner and was great friends with his fiancé! Now, let’s be honest, when it comes to good music in Memphis, what I really like is the intimacy of the artist with the audience. Most times you can’t get this because the venue is so large that you’re lost in the sea of listeners trying to find your place among the voice. The Dizzy Bird does away with this thought. Why you ask? Well it is an incredibly small venue. But, regardless of its size, I’d be lying to you if I said that this place didn’t pack a punch of work out in to its listeners and customers. It’s large/small enough for you to feel the emotion behind the artist. Enough for you to see the desperation in their voices when they’re singing, or see the air funnel through the body as they play their instruments. This place is beyond amazing! A true jewel of the city of Memphis! On Thursdays they have single set concerts starting at 7pm ending at 10pm. Friday’s and Saturdays they have double sets starting at 7pm and 9:45pm. Check them out and give your ears some good vibrations!
