I’ll admit it — sometimes I’m just in the mood for a good, toasty sub. When those moments occur, I’m happy that Quiznos exists, ready to satisfy my desire for toasty subs. However, it seems in recent years that Quiznos has lowered the threshold for franchisees. This location in particular is pretty lousy. The store has been inexplicably closed in the middle of the day a couple of times. It’s usually relatively clean and the food isn’t bad, though it is a step down from some of the better-run Quiznos stores I’ve visited. More than once, I walked in to a nearly-empty store only to spot the same blonde chick who quickly disappears around a corner whenever she spots a customer. I guess she’d rather sit in the back room, watching the clock and counting down the minutes until she can go back to her triple decker. That leaves one employee on the floor, and you can imagine how things move. I try to pay with a debit card here, because I almost always get the wrong change too.

Good sandwiches. A little pricey though. Give it a try.

I first got into Quizno’s in LA when one opened down the street from me. Generally superior to Subway, they’ve always toasted their sandwiches. They also have soups, cookies, and a wide array of chips and beverages. This particular location, in the new Station Landing building at the intersection of Routes 28 and 16 in Medford, is particularly convenient for me since I live in the neighborhood. The staff are friendly, and the place is clean. I believe it is family owned. If you’ve been to other Quizno’s, you know what to expect. A good place to go for a decent sandwich.
