Decent food, Folks working there work hard and do pretty well. Unfortunately they get so busy it’s very hard to place a phone order. This is the quickest way to get in and out when there are long lines, but they don’t answer…

I don’t know why but it is VERY difficult to find excellent Jamaican beef patties in North America. Most restaurants I have visited and sampled– from Boston to Phila to D.C. to Vancouver– CLAIM they serve house-made beef patties, but, in fact, they just bake off pre-frozen factory made patties, often from one of the 2 major patty factories near NYC. These at Lenny’s are actually made in-house, so that is a plus right there. They are pretty good; the dough is fairly tender and the soft creamy peppery beef filling is plentiful. Unfortunately it does contain alot of filler– bread crumbs or whatever. How I wish there were curry spices in them but they really are pretty plain, except for Saizon and black pepper. But, after being assured by Jamaican transplants– that they are the best in Boston, we feel lucky for that. The place itself is pretty funky, and google map directions leave alot to be desired, so if you’re not familiar with the area, it’s a big help to have a passenger with another set of eyes– to help navigate. We only get beef patties here, nothing else. btw, it is take-out only and cash only.

I get breakfast here all the time! Love it. I always get the beef patties because they are bomb dot com! The lady in the front is super nice and knows who I am which is great because I feel valued as a customer or maybe I should feel like I eat out too much. Haha but anyways this place is great for breakfast. I’m not sure if I would get anything other than breakfast food though.

So I went to Lenny’s because I was looking for a nice authentic Caribbean bakery. I was a bit disappointed. I ordered a chicken patty, currant roll and bread pudding. The Bread pudding was ok, I’m not sure how much bread was actually used because I tasted some cornmeal or similar flour. The chicken patty was disgraceful, it was so much dough and very little chicken! The chicken mixture they used was very different from what I’m used in a chicken patty, not saying that it didn’t taste good but there was way too much crust to enjoy it. The only redeeming quality to my meal was the currant roll. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the currants were sugared in a way that it oozed and caramelized the outside nicely.

I truly love this place and love the beef patties and the cakes etc. However, I recently went into this location to get my usual beef patty, coco bread, and cheese. And as I walked in there was a line of people all pointing. I’m looking and I see something crawling I didn’t realize it until another customer says«that’s a mouse«and walked out. I then was more upset that the woman seemed unconcerned as if it was a usual occurrence which is super gross. I then walked out. I really do like this place but I can not give 5 stars to a restaurant that can care less about a mouse out and about around food.

Lenny’s is in competition with P&R in my opinion for their beef patties and I think they are winning! Lol only thing is they don’t take cash. That’s pretty annoying honestly.

The old-skool patty joint is almost extinct. Thankfully Lenny’s is still around. The beef is great — only problem is the crust is way too thick. The flavoring on the beef is distinct and spicy: You can taste the scotch bonnet. I like the finely ground meat, some of my group weren’t do into that but all agreed the taste was great. I didn’t like the chicken though — no taste and a bit gamey.

I’ve only gotten coco bread from here. My friend brought some for a party and so I’ve stopped in here a couple of times towards that same end. Nice people, but it always seems to take a bit longer than it should. The coco bread is warm and delicious!
