I’ve only eaten here once, but the frozen custard at Whit’s was pretty good. Not mind blowing, not stellar, not new and amazing. But pretty good. I ordered a small turtle sundae, which was vanilla frozen custard topped with caramel, hot fudge and pecans. The sauces were pretty standard, similar to stuff in jars you’d find at any grocery store, but the pecans were whole and salty and sooooo delicious with the sweet creamy custard. My custard seemed to melt super quick when compared to normal ice cream, though, so eat it fast. The 2 girls working behind the counter were kind of friendly, but in a snotty kind of way(they made us feel awkward since we weren’t regulars and couldn’t read everything on the chalkboard, and they also eyeballed us like we were bugging them while we ate our sundaes inside which made us shuffle out the doors and join all the other diners outside. Guess now we know why nobody else was sitting indoors). And they’re closed for 3 months in the winter!!!(Come on, you’re not Dairy Queen!) Overall, it was good frozen custard, but nothing special enough to make me want to run back when they decide to reopen for the Spring.

Slamming frozen custard. I like this stuff way better than ice cream. Went on a week night and the girl behind the counter made a mistake. When someone asks you«How are you?» and you are working behind a counter when they ask, you don’t dump on them about how shitty your day is going. Just smile, say«Great» or «Doing fine!» or something. Pretend you are happy to be there. Not really a big deal as we weren’t hanging out for long. We enjoyed the fact that they had live music on the patio. We got our custard to go and were on our way.

Do yourself a favor and walk out the front door of Whit’s, go about 30ft take a right and walk to The Farmhouse less than a half block down on your right. I’ve now been to 2 of these locations and have been anything but impressed. I was actually pretty surprised to see their website and realize they have dozens of locations. I can’t speak about their food but this«custard» stuff is not for me, especially with The Farmhouse Ice Cream so close by! I’ve always held Graeter’s as my number one but I continue to be impressed every time I swing by the Farmhouse to grab a milkshake. The flavor and the texture hold up even in a milk shake which I’ve found many places to struggle with. They serve Hershey’s brand ice cream and it’s impressive. Lots of great flavors as well. My experiences at whit’s have basically sucked. I was at a location on the far east side and ordered some type of pumpkin flavored concoction that tasted«off». Not sure what source of flavoring was used but I’m big on pumpkin… skip it. My 2nd try was at the Marysville location. I saw an open parking spot directly in front of it and made a split decision. My senses must be failing me because this was a mistake. Just another pile of «custard» not worth the review, yet every time I drive by that freaking place there are 15 people outside it. At least it is taking up space in Marysville’s Historic Business District that is sparsely populated. Another restaurant just crashed and burned in less than a year but we did just get a boost mobile and a skateboard shop??? Maybe another Whit’s across the street would bring in some visitors???

I love Whit’s and so does my family. I find myself craving it sometimes and that doesn’t happen with other ice cream places. We frequently get Whitsers as I think they are called. This is basically their freshly made frozen custard along with various items mixed in. The only have a few flavors at a time — always vanilla and chocolate, and a few floating flavors that change weekly. My favorite is the Grasshopper which is like mint chocolate chip. The staff is always extremely friendly and the owners are usually there. There are tables to sit outside which is great in the summer. I also really like the high ceilings inside, because it’s an old bank location. I wish they were open til 10, but I still love it.

Love this place! The staff is friendly and helpful. The shop itself is… a bit odd, in a ‘quirky’ way, the seating limited, but adequate and comfortable. But their custard rates a solid 8 out of 5, so even the quirkiness of the building they’re in, their custard totally makes up for the slightly elevated $ and odd layout. they have outdoor seating which is nice Spring-Fall.

Extremely consistent in service and product! I’ve tried several flavors and enjoyed all of them. Mud pie is probably my favorite… a mixture of coffee, chocolate, and Oreos I believe. My family frequents Whit’s(to the point that some of us can go in and just say«the usual» and have it scooped up in a few seconds.) If you haven’t been here, do yourself a favor and try it at least once! You won’t regret it!

Skip the chains! Don’t waste any calories on ‘ice milk’. The rich taste of frozen custard is what you want, and Whit’s is the real deal. Freshly made daily on site, it is the ultimate frozen dessert treat. An unlimited number of flavor combinations are available, so any palate can be satisfied. This means you! And the pickiest of companions. Free samples are available and highly recommended to settle any flavor disputes. First, a word about frozen custard. In the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration requires products marketed as frozen custard to contain at least 10 percent milkfat and 1.4 percent egg yolk solids. If it has a smaller percentage of egg yolk solids, it is considered ice cream.[7] Whit’s staff is known for their friendliness and crafting each serving as if it were their own. A great place for dessert or a special treat anytime. Indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended!
