I was so excited that Marysville was actually going to get a bbq restaurant as we have so few good restaurants in general. We tried the ribs and pulled pork and several of the side dishes. The sauces were very watery and somewhat bland. The ribs seemed overcooked but had good flavor. The membrane on the bottom needed to be scored or removed because they were difficult to eat. The place had not been open long when we ate there so hopefully things will get better as time goes by. The manager or possibly the owner stopped by and asked how everything was. He was very polite and answered several questions I had about how they smoked their meats. I tried the macaroni salad and baked beans. They were average. The menu is very limited but hopefully that will allow them to get their recipes down to a science. I love bbq and know how tricky it can be to cook. I’ve worked at 2 different bbq joints, one in columbus and one in georgia so I feel pretty confident in my review. The décor was a little sparse. I wish this place the best of luck and would like to try it a second time to see if things have gotten better but the first experience left me wanting a little more. I’m not sure how frequently they have the smoker running but from what I saw everything looked like it was sitting in crock pots. I don’t think ribs hold up all that well in that environment. I think the ribs were st. louis style ribs if im not mistaken and the manager told us they get them from GFS. Also, the first time we tried to go there on a weekend they were shutting their doors pretty early for a weekend. You might want to stay open a little later than 8 or 9pm otherwise you are just going to lose business to Benny’s next door. Their bbq is not bad for a place that features pizza. I’m sure we will eventually try the food again.

Part of Little Tony’s next door, this place is pretty new and off to a good start. Typical BBQ place décor. Good service. Limited menu; hopefully that will expand. I had a half slab with two sides. The ribs were meaty and flavorful, with a good rub. No need for sauce, but I had to try theirs out. Both are pretty thin, and mildly flavored. The baked beans were darn good, as was the cole slaw. The sweet tea was just okay.

Tonight was my first experience at Smokies. It is great to have a BBQ joint in the ‘Ville. Really enjoyed the pulled pork with the Carolina style bbq sauce! Had the baked beans and pasta salad as my sides. Both were good. I was hoping for some corn bread, but I guess it may not come with a sandwich basket. I only gave 4 stars because the restaurant feels really new inside. There wasn’t really any ambiance to speak off, and the menu was a bit limited. There were plenty of meat options but I would love to see some onion rings and mac and cheese added to the menu. I will absolutely return for more tasty, smokey goodness!
