Good Ol’ Barry! His original butcher shop has been around Marysville for a while, but many probably just passed by his original dwelling on Industrial Parkway until he made the move to a bigger facility just a hop and skip down the road in which you can now pull up a seat, and have a great dinner. When I talked to Barry after his new location had just opened he commented with, «I wish I would have done it sooner.» And I totally agree. I wish he would have, too. A typical menu at Barry’s is usually in an all-you-can-eat format in which he dishes up hand breaded, or grilled perch, shrimp, and also carries ribs, and… I want to say chicken, but I can’t remember. You’ll also get a nice helping of standard sides from green beans, apple sauce, slaw, and other comfort food staples. Don’t come to Barry’s expecting fine dining, but come expecting to be filled with simple food goodness. Barry is a great guy, and is there for one mission, that nobody leaves hungry, and believe me, nobody in our party usually does. Barry also maintains the old Butcher shop business in the front with his cases, and freezers, of some local, and some not local products. The man has great cuts of steaks, beef, pork, lamb and will keep your mind guessing at more uncommon meats like goat, rabbit and alligator?! A site to see, and a challenge for the daredevils. Even if you’re not hungry, I would still stop by for some meat shopping as his prices are generally fair, and his cuts are excellent! Check out Barry’s, and sometimes he’s been known to make an appearance at nearby festivals with his cooking trailer.
