Rancho Del Lago

Just wanted everyone to know, Rancho has a winter and summer HORSE/​PONY camp. It’s very unique, and a great way to learn horsemanship and riding with a group of kids. Great during XMAS break when we adults have to… work…ugh

A well-​run stable with a helpful staff. I am new to horseback riding, and Jessica is a terrific teacher. I was able to borrow the necessary equipment from them (boots, helmet, crop) which saved me an additional expense. Prices for lessons are reasonable and the setting could not be more beautiful.

I have been riding at Rancho del Lago for more than a year and I couldn’t be happier. The love and passion that Jessica and Marie have for horses is inspiring and I am impressed with the care and concern that they show for every horse on the ranch. At the rather ripe age of 50, I started taking lessons with Jessica Miller on an RDL lesson horse and progressed to purchasing my own horse. I love my lessons with Jessica because she is very, very focused on me and my horse throughout the lesson. She is encouraging and patient but somehow inspires me to try harder each time! I think because she cares so much, I want to give my best. I feel that after every lesson, I have learned a lot and that is a very satisfying feeling. Even though she is such a skilled rider, she has shown nothing but patience, respect and encouragement for me – and I am a very timid rider! In my experience, a lot of trainers are not that thrilled to have a timid rider in their program, so this has been a huge blessing for me. She also gave a lot of her own time to support my transition to being a horse owner and was very patient and helpful in showing me how to care for my horse and helping me to deal with some soundness issues. Marie and Jessica have also been very professional in their dealings with me as a client and I feel very comfortable with their sincere, direct, «no game playing» attitude and communication. Finally, they have been very inclusive in introducing me and my family to other clients and activities on the ranch so I feel welcome and happy when I am there. This is a great place to ride and Jessica is an awesome teacher and mentor.
