First of all, I love the food here. Second, this restaurant knows what great customer service means. Shout out to Art, the general manager at the Edina location! Came here for dinner on Saturday night. We had less than a stellar waitress but that happens sometimes. We waited over an hour for our food, Art came out and apologized for our waitress’s error. He stated he would comp our meals and asked if we would like our drinks comped as well and we said no. He came back a short while later with our food. He decided he wanted to comp everything and gave us a $ 20 gift card for our troubles. Wow is all I can say, I will be back!

This is our go to place when we just want tasty, hearty, crazy good comfort food. My husband loves their French Dip while I am a huge fan of the meatloaf dinner. Their salads, soups and burgers are also really good, too. I don’t think you can go wrong with just about anything on the menu.

Delicious! They have a special summer cocktail — a must! This time I went for the small plate BBQ pork. Ranks right up there! Get on their text and email lists for great specials and discounts. Instead of a mere dessert for your birthday, you get at $ 15 entrée! I had the small steak and it was delicious !

One of the few places in the twin cities I have decided I will no longer go back to. I think the food and drinks are overpriced for the level of quality(not bad quality… but nothing special). The service has been regularly slow(not necessarily bad or unfriendly… but certainly slow). I didn’t find the happy hour quality or prices for food or drink to be impressive either(I know a lot of people go here for HH… it just didn’t strike me).

Great happy hour and love the martini flights. Martini flights are not part of the happy hour specials but can’t beat 9.95!!! You get to pick three martinis and they come in mini glasses. I can recommend just one I have tried them all and they are all delicious! Food is average nothing spectacular but good deals for happy hour. Always busy, try to get there earlier if you plan to try and get a table in the bar area, it is first come first serve! Also all day Happy Hour for Sunday fun day cannot beat that

Came in at 9:00 on a Monday night and sat at the bar. The place was completely dead, so I had my choice of seats. Had the fire grilled salmon, with broccoli and a side salad. Everything tasted very good, but was a bit on the pricey side. Bartender was attentive and made good drinks, but with the place practically empty, I’d expect attentiveness. Good experience overall.

Let me see, Houlihan’s… I am not sure why this restaurant is rated 3 stars, except that it doesn’t have your standard fare(like Perkins or Baker’s Square or some other chain restaurant). Or the service at times. The service at this location has been good 75% of the time. There have been a few times when the waiters were slow and inattentive, but generally they are not. I have always found Houlihan’s food to be good. I like that it tastes fresh and homemade. It’s not out of a bag or box. You can definitely tell that. One qualm I have about it, though, is that the choices are kind of eclectic. I do think that most people could find SOMETHING they like, though, because of that quality. Their entrees aren’t your average take on the entrees you’re ordering, without being too exotic. It does seem like Houlihan’s tries to be a chain gourmet restaurant without a huge upcharge. I have had several things off this menu, my favorites being the chipotle chicken nachos, heartland grilled chicken salad, Brentwood chicken sandwich, jambalaya, chicken fingers, and the Italian donut flight. I seriously would go there just for the nachos and donut holes… I have had one thing that I was disappointed with, though. I ordered a steak for my birthday a few years ago and it was horrid compared to what I’d grill at home. Sadness! Anyhow, I enjoy going here for my birthday and other occasions when they have a deal. Usually on Tuesday nights they have some kind of special deal on their food(subscribe to their email list, you’ll get an email about it). They do charge a little more for their food than the average restaurant($ 1 – 3 bucks more on average), but I think it’s worth it.

Gave it another shot after not being there for a year. its gotten even worse. Horrible food and horrible service. Server/bartender was rude and made us feel unwelcome.

I decided to eat here because they give you a free entrée on your birthday, plus a free appetizer when you sign up for their emails. It was great! I had the fish tacos and they were delicious. Can’t remember what I got for the app, but I remember being happy with it. Service was great as well! I know where my friends and I will be on my next birthday!

This is the second time in recent memory that I have been to Houlihan’s in Maple Grove. There is a good variety of food and quite a few things on the menu that I would eat. This time I had the chicken fingers, which were okay. The BF had chicken fettucini with alfredo sauce, I think. He also said he was satisfied with his meal. We had some yummy nachos as an appetizer, which is why I definitely wasn’t very hungry for my chicken finger when they came. What I DO love are the pitchers of long islands. You get a pitcher for the price of what you might pay for just one drink elsewhere. Dying to try some of the other flavors! Ambiance was just right, server was attentive but not too attentive. Our drinks, appetizer and meals arrived at appropriately spaced intervals.

I have nothing but good things to say about my Houlihan’s experience! I needed a nice place to hold a retirement party. Their room is complimentary with a $ 500 minimum. They did everything for me! I was able to be a guest as hostess of the party, what a switch. The service and food were top notch. Chad was very attentive to the guests and was able to meet all of our demands. Everyone raved about the success of the event. I would highly recommend this establishment and cannot wait to return.

I came here over lunch and I was surprised at how nice this place was from the food to the décor. Right off the bat after checking in here on Foursquare, I got a free Frites(fries). If they have awesome stuff for just checking in, it means this place listens to it’s customers and has a firm grasp of technology. So we obviously started with the Parmesan Fries which came out with 3 dipping sauces, all of which I loved! I ordered a Spicy Frito’s burger for my lunch. I must say it was good, but lacked any sort of «spice» to is. Not even a so called tingle on my tongue. Sure the jalapenos should have done the job, but they didn’t. I was happy they gave us some warm towels to wipe our hands with near the end. That is great service there and I was relived to see them because it was too cold in there. They also gave us a cookie, which was soft and delicious. How can you go wrong with a cookie for dessert? Awesome!

Went there on a Thursday night around 7pm. It was nice and clean. Not too loud. Our waiter Mark was super funny and he paid attention to us. He didn’t hover us all the time. He did give us his honest opinion about the Orzo which i appreciated. Salmon was great and my chicken wrap was fantastic. The baked potato is HUGE!

This is so naughty of me: I want to give Houlihan’s less than 4 stars because it’s just not the type of place that innately appeals to me or that I would really choose to go to on my own. But I have to give it at least 4 stars because what they did, they did really well. I was here for a family birthday gathering, and we had a fairly large group. Here’s the run-down of the good: –Service was fast and very friendly. Our waitress was A+ with multiple, complex orders. –2-for-1 drink specials on a Sunday afternoon –Strong coffee. Be-still my Scandinavian heart. –Oh. My. God. They actually cooked my burger medium. At 99% of places you order medium and you’re going to get medium-well/well no matter what. This actually had some pinkness to it and it was fantastic. –Fries were crisp and delish. Mashed potatoes were basic comfort food, but also very good. –My aunt and uncle split an entrée. They basically gave them two mini entrees on their own plates. Cute. The not-so-good: –The menu is super-extensive. I mean, it’s a total mish-mash of things. You’ll find something you like, sure, but you get the sense that they can’t possibly do it all well. –Going along with the menu overload – this is not the place to order scallops. Seriously, get a burger here. –My husband said his Cheesy Royale Yum Yum Good burger was just okay. «The secret sauce is McDonald’s thousand-island dressing.» There are definitely worse places to end up in the Arbor Lakes complex. Trust me, I’ve been dragged to many of them. If you need a good, juicy burger this is a safe bet.

First things first… Happy hour. Apparently it’s 2 for 1. This involves their draft beers. Yum. Also, their giant draft beers are like $ 3. Living in NJ /NYC, I’ve learned to love any place that will give me a delicious beer for $ 3. Food: I had the«Cheesy Royale Yum Yum Good Times Burger». No I didn’t just make that up. It was cheesy and yummy. I did love how the menu had some small«bite» options. Split the chicken nachos with the people I was with and those were good too. Dessert: umm the donut holes that they make with the baileys and kaluha dipping sauce. Yea, those were life changing. They make the fresh when you order so they’re still warm so they get all gooey with the sauce. Basically you need to try them now!

I’ve been a customer of Houlihan’s since 2008. What appealed to me was the menu’s selection of simple food, like rosemary chicken breasts with broccoli. It’s what I call real food.(Most fried or over-sugared items don’t pass this test.) Service at the door and in the living room was good. This year I’ve gone a few times with family and it’s just not the same. The place is nearly empty when we go around lunchtime. It takes about 45 minutes for two people to get small dishes. The petit filet mignon comes with a creamy dip that I don’t like at all, and it’s not put on the side so I can decide for myself whether to eat it. The servers themselves are okay. I don’t know. There’s never been any sort of apology for the wait on food. Also, they’re not interested in giving us a table in the dining room. They always seat us in the bar area. I know they want bartenders to double as servers for cost purposes, but there are more than enough servers chatting with each other to open up another section.

I think without the happy hour — I wouldn’t go there just because. PLUS let’s not forget Wednesdays are half off bottle of wines!(Also yes to this promo!) The bruschetta is my favorite appetizer there(but order an extra side of bread — I always have to since there is so much goodness! I tried the onion soup also — very salty. Sign up for their email list and you get a free entrée or app!

I am giving this a higher rating than I would other chain stores. Why? The attentive service we received. It was a Sunday and at lunch time. The waitress was very attentive and considerate. Making certain our four year old got food quick. We spilled drinks twice and staff not from our table rushed to help. No, the four year old did not spill. And per the waitress anyone who spilled got a small cup like the four year old with a cap. We were all laughing. The food is hit or miss on what you want. One steak ordered was very rare. And we had a special request of it being cut for the person. They did so at second request. Otherwise there are no complaints.

Very good spot for Happy Hour! One of the burbs better chains. This is one place that has a good happy hour including good prices on drinks and very goods appetizers. The Calamari is one of the best I have had in town. They have a great Asian style dipping sauce that really completes the dish. I am so tired of getting calamari with the standard mayo/crap sauce for dipping overcooked, chewy, rubber like things. I know I’ve had a steak here years ago and I do remember it was good, although I don’t think it’s such a task to make a tasty steak(one reason to avoid any place that can’t make a good steak) but I know it was good. A former coworker has sworn that they also have very good Terriaki wings and I know it’s just another reason for a happy hour and a bite to eat. Cheers! KT
