Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon for a pedicure ($ 28) which was expensive but they did an awesome job. Quick yet quality.
My friends had manicures ($ 12) and it looked like they did a great job, as well.
With all the nail salons in NYC that aren’t always the cleanest, it’s nice to go to a super clean spot that does the job.

I’ve given this place three chances, and all three times I’ve had different technicians. All of them did bad jobs.
The first time I got a regular manicure that was so thick that it got bubbles and dented three hours after I was out. The fact that their dryers look pretty but are worthless probably adds to the damage.
The second time, I got a manicure with glitter… it was still a bad job, but the tech redid it with a coat of color as a base when she decided that she didn’t like how the glitter alone looked (however, she should have known this already).
The third time, two days ago, I got a gel manicure. How can you screw up a gel manicure, you ask? Well, first of all, I was very clear that I wanted OPI axxium, but the technician insisted that I use Shellac instead and would not let me get OPI. Okay! I guess she wanted to use the cheapest gel she had, since she was giving me a 20% student discount. She put on two thick coats so badly that it looks all squiggly, not smooth, and it started to chip THE SAME DAY. One of my nails is already coming off completely. How they managed to mess up this much is beyond me; I’ve NEVER had a gel manicure that chipped before, no matter how bad the salon was, but Floris is a world unto itself. When I went to pay, I was also surprised that I was being charged tax on top of the $ 36, which had never happened before with the regular manicures, but once again I guess they were trying to minimize the discount.
Allow me to add that I’ve never ever been offered a drink or had a free massage, unlike the other reviewers here; on the contrary, every single time I’ve been here they’ve tried to push a chair massage on me for the moderate price of $ 15 for 10 minutes. No, thank you.
Do not be deceived by the look of this place; this is the worst spot in the neighborhood. Walk five blocks up and go to True Nail Salon instead; you’ll get your money’s worth and they always do a fantastic job.

I’ve been there twice to get my nails done.
Both times the manicurist was very meticulous and took her time.
The first time I went for a mani/​pedi at the student rate — (free mani w/​pedi). Great foot massage, and my nails were immaculate for at least a week.
I went again last week to get a manicure, and again the manicurist did a great job.
Wide variety of colors. Calming atmosphere — the salon is right on 5^th Ave., but the stations are in further into the store. The employees are all very sweet and don’t rush you. Definitely recommend getting your nails done here.

i get my manicure at floris every week and wouldn’t go anywhere else in my neighborhood. its relaxing, not rushed, and they are meticulous!

Terrible manicure

Floris is one of the best nail salons I have encountered in this city. Not only was everyone super friendly, the environment was clean, calm, and very relaxing. I was offered water (and vino, huzzah!) and snacks, as well as an assortment of magazines and nail colors from which to choose. I highly recommend the spa pedicure special (seriously, one of the best I have ever had) that includes a complimentary (regular) manicure. My only wish is that this was located closer to my neighborhood. :) Way to go Floris!

Went for a mani-​/​pedi– and LOVED Rosa. The place was clean, a ton of OPI and Essie polishes, they took me right away on a Saturday afternoon and my hands and feet are glowing. What more could I ask for.

Floris is in the same area as my school and job so I’ve been passing this place on a daily basis since it opened last year. I wish I had given it a try sooner because I’ve been missing out. They have daily specials such as free manicure with the purchase of a spa pedicure. There are even separate specials for students.
Since I have graduation and job interviews coming up, I want to make sure my nails are clean, neat, and presentable so I went in for a mani-​pedi today (the manicure was free!). My nail technician was James who did an awesome job on both my hands and feet. His massages were firm, he took his time with everything, and he was a really sweet guy. The most incredible part is how I had to rush out at the end to make a dinner reservation so I only managed to stay under the dryers for about 15 minutes. Somehow, the polish on my hands and feet didn’t even get a dent as I rushed out of the spa, onto the train, through the rain, and into the restaurant. The reason why I rarely get manicures is because I usually ruin them within minutes of stepping out of the salon – even if I stay underneath the dryer for an extended amount of time.
Another perk is the free wine, tea, and snacks. The entire staff is very hospitable. It turns out Floris is a chain that started in South Korea. They now have locations in six states.

This nail salon is super clean, spacious, and relaxing. I’m always asked if I want water… the last time I was in, they had wine out and some crackers… I’ll take that any day while I’m enjoying a pedicure. Very meticulous manicure/​pedicure. Also great specials and $ 7 manicure with student ID, can’t beat it.

I would give a 3 stars for my eyebrow wax. but I gave 4 for the location and how clean and pretty/​serene/​modern the spa was…
The 3 stars would really only be because I have tough eyebrows thanks to an old piercing and they can be tough to navigate… or fill in. I also ruined them in my teen years and they don’t grow back in some spots. LOL. so I’m a picky eyebrow person. That being said she did ask if I just wanted them «cleaned up» and I said yes. Super sweet little woman who was gentle and very nice. Had I said «do it up!!!»… then maybe I could fault her. They were definitely cleaned up and shaped nicely, but she missed a few random ones.
The 4 stars is because I WILL be back here, just to try some other things based on how pretty it was inside. And um HELLO… I’m a wine-​o. They had wine/​champagne stocked up for. I’m guessing, pedicures. I don’t even know, but that right there had me at hello. ;] Too bad. I was on my lunch break.
4 stars also BECAUSE I was on my lunch break and I was in and out within 7 minutes flat. I called ahead and she asked me to wait 5 minutes. I did. just as the eyebrow woman was finishing a pedicure. So. I appreciate the honesty because they could have just told me to «come now!»… and have me wait 5 minutes.
Also. eyebrows were $ 12. I’m not sure what that price comparison point is like here in NYC as I’ve only been here 2 months but… I’d guess that’s pretty good as their competitor a block or two down was charging upwards of $ 20.
Overall, I’ll try again and maybe edit this as I try other services!!! :]

I went here for an OPI Axxium Gel Manicure. I called and made an appointment for that same afternoon. When I came in, right on time for my appointment, there was nobody available to do my nails. So the person at the desk said that she would do them for me.
She seemed rushed, and concerned with watching the front door for new clients.
Somebody else ended up finishing my nails almost at the end.
Not as relaxing an experience as I would have liked to get for a $ 45 manicure.
Overall, the salon is very clean and modern. And everybody else seemed satisfied with their services that was there. I just felt rushed and uncomfortable.

$ 12 are too much for a crappy manicure in this city. I think my technician was new, but that didn’t excuse cutting and making two of my fingers bleed. I asked for bandaids, and the management didn’t even attempt to apologize. Took over half an hour even with one coat of polish (I told them I was in a hurry…)

Floris opened a few months ago near my office. It’s a very cute, clean, pretty place to get your nails/​spa treatments done, but I think that they are having issues getting business, especially with Sally Nails so close by (which is cheaper/​faster).
When they first opened, they were having promotional offers, and I got a coupon for a free manicure or lip/​eyebrow wax, so I got a free mani. The manicure I got was really well done — very thorough, with two coats of polish. They use Essie base and top coat, which lasts forever.
Randomly during my mani, a guy who worked there came over to give me a massage for about two minutes. While it definitely felt good, it was a little out of nowhere, so I wasn’t sure how to react.
Another weird thing about my experience there was that the worker who did my manicure seemed like she was incredibly miserable. She had a sad, sullen look on her face the whole time, and she seemed so relieved when she was finally done with me. The place was empty, so I guess it was her chance to relax.

Floris is an absolute gem.
Manis are $ 12 — a bargain for the area! The facility is clean and relaxing, and the technicians are all friendly and professional.
