I instantly liked Coach McKay. I found his calming presence inspiring, nonjudgmental and made me feel at ease. There were 3 of us in the session, each of us very different and some recovering from injuries. He pays attention to individual needs and made sure we were safe and pushed ourselves to the best of our abilities. I enjoyed the short intervals and the focus on lower then upper body and used our own resistance(not weights or fancy machines) so it’s sustainable to do on your own. A great overall workout for someone who needs a break from the gym and enjoys variety.

I used Lamar as a trainer last year and still use him from time to time. He is thoughtful and always prepared. He listens to your goals and then sets out a program that gets you to where you want to be.

Coach McKay is the real deal. I have had a few trainers in the past and while they were good at what they did I never felt that they truly heard me. To be honest, I’m a whiner. «That’s too heavy.» «My arms can’t reach that high.» «I can’t do the ropes!» Coach McKay cut through all of my BS with patience & compassion. He helped me take«can’t» out of my vocabulary. Not only am I a whiner but I ask a million questions.(I know you are wishing I was your client right about now.) «Why do I need to do this?» «What is this really helping?» Let me tell you, after someone answers all of your silly questions with real answers… you learn to just shut up and do the work. The results I received while working with Coach were great but the real benefit is being able to work out with someone that truly has my best interest at heart. Highly recommended!!!

I have never been able to get myself to go to the gym, but ever since I started with Coach McKay I’ve been regularly working out. McKay mixes up the different routines and exercises so it never gets boring. He’s also great at working around your schedule, so you’ll never have an excuse to skip out on a session. But most of all, he’s great at getting to know your strengths and weaknesses and pushing you to do your best while still keeping the entire experience fun. I’ve definitely noticed I went from huffing and puffing down the street to actually enjoying hiking. Working with McKay was definitely worth my time and every penny.

This place is everything you could possibly ask for with not just fitness but overall health. Coach Mckay takes the time to get to know your personality as well as your strengths and weaknesses(and even pays attention to your food consumption habits while just having conversations in passing!). His holistic approach is unlike any other trainer I’ve ever worked with – it always feels like I’m about to meet up with a friend to work out because he’s not just a trainer but someone who genuinely cares about you as an individual. He truly makes each visit worthwhile with his positive outlook on life. I can tell you that once you start working with Mckay Strength, you’ll wonder why you ever invested your time and money anywhere else.
