Coming from Florida, I find that New York is a hard place to find colorists who do a good blonde. After bouncing around to various colorists who always got it wrong and thought there was only one share of blonde, Lisa was my savior! She knows exactly how to do all the different blondes one could possibly want and understands that the best color is subjective and so she goes way out of her way to do what you want not what she may want. I’ll never switch colorists again. Lisa is masterful! Her red headed clients said the same thing to me about her reds. Lisa’s prices are also really reasonable given the care she puts into her work. You won’t find a better deal in NYC.

I’ve been going grey since junior high and after many, many years of box color, my hair was a dull dark brown, almost black. Then my sister recommended Lisa. My hair is coarse and does not take color well, but Lisa was able to correct my color, while keeping my hair healthy. For almost 15 years now, Lisa has colored my hair a lovely natural auburn. When I wanted to go a little lighter, Lisa helped me choose a color that was the right match for my skin tone and the current state of my hair. Lisa gives her honest opinion about what will work for your hair and will not steer you wrong. I often get compliments on my hair and I wouldn’t trust it with anyone except Lisa.

Lisa is without a doubt one of the top hair colorists in NYC. I have never experienced better results with anyone else in the city and I’ve tried many big-​name colorists/​salons before finally finding her. She uses only top notch product and is extremely knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the process and options available. I’ve seen her do magic many times but because she knows before hand what is achievable and what is not, you can be sure about the results, no bad surprises! We have done chic deep purple color, sophisticated highlights and cool brunette tones on my hair. I’m so glad I can count on her to look good, her taste is impeccable and she’s fun which is a great bonus when one has to spend time at a hair salon on a regular basis!

First time trying out Lisa and I am very happy with the outcome she did on me. I’ve always had my hair brown and I felt like I needed a change so she dyed my hair blonde. She did a really good job w my roots as well as she did with the color. You can tell that my hair was done by someone who understands what she’s doing. You have to be really careful who you go to if you want to dye your hair blonde. She’s not only good at what she does but she’s also very friendly and makes you feel comfortable .I can only recommend Lisa. Just amazing!

My friend recommended Lisa about 9 years ago! No one ever touched my hair since! I love her and her work! I have white blonde highlights and it gives me the perfect and natural beach blonde look which I love! I absolutely love my hair! I always get lots of compliment. What also outstanding about Lisa’s work is: there is no damage what so ever! Never! If I want to grow my hair, I can even skip the haircut and just do the highlights 2 – 3 times on a row and I still have no split ends, that’s how good she is!
I like the atmosphere of the salon, she is very nice, friendly, professional, we have good conversations, we talk just about anything and everything, and the time I spend there is always fun. If I have questions about colors, new styles, trends products she explains thoroughly everything I want to know.
Her assistant and others who work there are nice and friendly too!

About a year ago, Lisa color corrected my green and black striped disaster. My most recent appointment was November– it is now August and my hair still looks beautiful. I now have my natural dark roots fading to beautiful warm gold ends– it looks like my natural hair. I also stopped dying it and using heat. My hair hasn’t looked this good in years! Thank you Lisa:)

Lisa is great! Very happy to have her color my hair. She asks lots of questions to make sure she gives you what you want. She ALWAYS takes her time and is very thoughtful about the entire process. There is no rush job here — and you will be treated with respect.

Lisa is a magician! My hair had become extremely dark due to years of build-​up from home dying kits. I called a few top rated salons in the city to check on the pricing and method they use to correct the situation. Most everyone quoted a price even without seeing the condition of my hair. Lisa was the only one who asked me to come in for a consultation so she could determine the treatment required and the amount it would cost me. The result — after over 4 hours — during which Lisa patiently treated my hair, were amazing! My friends and family could immediately tell the difference! Plus — her charges were extremely reasonable for the process and effort required. Thank you Lisa!

Lisa Harrington, makes my hair look glamorous. People really do stop me on the street to tell me they love my hair color… and ask where they can get it. What’s more, every single time I travel outside of NYC, someone stops me to say: «I LOVE your hair!» My hair is red with barrels of high and low lights… yes, it’s daring, which is what I asked for. That said, I’ve seen Lisa do blonds, brunettes, and reds that look absolutely natural and stunning. She’s really talented. She is also, that rare thing in a salon… she is a truth teller. She both listens to what YOU say you want AND tells what WILL and WON’T work on you.

Lisa is one of the best. She spends time discussing what you want and takes copious notes. I recently made an appointment and she called me to confirm the service to make sure that was what I needed/​wanted as it was different from my last appointment. Her approach to color is truly an art.

I found Lisa after getting an awful color job that made my hair orange. She is an artist! I have been going to her for 12 years and would NEVER let anyone else touch my hair. She is great with blondes and has a gift for producing a really natural look. I constantly get stopped on the streets and complimented. Lisa is the best!

For years I have been dying my hair dark brown because I have been cursed with gray hair since high school. I am now in my 30s and was getting to the point of despair. It’s not a sexy look when my silvery gray roots contrast with my dark hair. I had been contemplating going light for months now and knew I had to go to a pro. So I began my search online and Lisa’s name kept coming up. Being a Queens girl, I wanted to avoid trekking into Manhattan since I do it everyday for work. However, I found myself hopping on the subway on Sat morning based on all the previous Unilocal reviews. I was not disappointed !!! Lisa explained the process and the length of time it would take to achieve lightening my dark hair. During my 8 hour process… (Yes 8 hrs lol) Lisa didn’t crack a sweat. She was professional, confident and clearly an expert in the science of hair coloring and correction. I never once felt nervous about the process as it was clear she knew what had to be done and when! Lisa was great to talk with and has a wonderful vibe to her. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with my hair. The results were better then I could of imagined. For those of you that may not know, going from dark to light with years of dye build– up is no easy task. I am thrilled that I found Lisa who made a potentially stressful ordeal seem like a piece of cake. I will continue to go to her for colorings and recommend Lisa if you are searching for a highly talented colorist.

So I went to Lisa in hopes that she would help me because the place I had previously gone to completely ruined my hair! The color was awful (dark base with odd blond/​greenish highlights) and the cut made my hair looked more damaged than it actually was! After speaking with Lisa I immediately could tell that she knew what she was doing. She transformed my hair to a beautiful auburn color and it looks so much healthier than before! Sage did a magnificent job at correcting my haircut! I’m so happy I found the place! I truly feel beautiful again! Highly recommend!

I’ve been dying my hair dark for nearly 12 years, and after a stint overseas I came to Lisa to do the stylists worst nightmare… the color correction/​lifting/​all day binge. I wanted to go a few shades lighter overall, and not only did Lisa NOT USE bleach all over my hair, but it finished in even better condition than it started with. She was super cautious, listened to my concerns, adjusted as needed and like a true perfectionist, barely breathed until the end result;).
She truly cares about the condition of your hair, very experienced and knowledgable, and always gives you accurate info to help guide your color choices, no «well we’ll get you as close as possible». No. If the shade can happen, she will get you there!

Lisa is a hair color magician.
I went to a nearby salon that had good Unilocal reviews for my first professional color in a long time (I had been using box color for over a year). I was unhappy with the experience, mainly because I felt that my stylist was not very tactful in her approach (almost rude), and I felt they were trying to sell me on a service that I had never heard of (and didn’t seem like the best option for lightening my hair color).
I opted for a second opinion with Lisa. I walked into the salon, and she was happy to give me a brief consultation. She quickly found a solution for stripping my dark hair color and was highly transparent about the potential uncertainty of the process. When I returned for my appointment, I spent a good 4 – 5 hours in the salon (the color removal process was quite involved), but it was worth it. The process removed much of the color without any damage to my hair. Lisa then added color on top of the resulting color. This was the most impressive part– she knew exactly how much color to add to each layer and the necessary time required to leave the color so I didn’t have obvious designations of color in my hair.
I was in awe of the result: the color was beautiful (exactly what I wanted), and I had 1 consistent color throughout my hair (before Lisa had applied color to my hair, I had about 6 different colors).
I was so happy with the result, and I highly recommend Lisa for your hair color needs.

I came to this place as a referral from a coworker of mine. Needless to say this place was fantastic! I had my haircut done by Miyu and I can honestly say this is one of the best cuts I’ve ever had. She was quick and thorough, she knew exactly what she was doing.
I also came here because I had heard great things about Lisa — she is a color expert. Not only did she call me the day before the appointment to discuss what I wanted to do with my hair, but when I came in she spent over 2 hours carefully fixing my hair (my hair needed some major color fixing after the last place I had gone to totally screwed it up months ago). Overall, i’m very pleased with my cut and color and will definitely be coming back here! Just know, it’s a bit pricey! Talk to them about prices before you begin if you want to be more on the frugal side.

I honestly don’t think I have ever been more pleased with a color job than I am with my first visit to Lisa. She is an expert — unlike anyone I have ever gone to.
I always prefer going to salons in the East Village as I don’t like pretension and having to feel like I have to look put together when I walk in the door first thing on a Saturday morning. Ruby6 is come as you are, and leave as you want.
Lisa took my pictures of Gisele/​J Lo and their honey colored highlights and lowlights and made it work for me – for real. She fixed my too blonde block of highlights and brought depth. She made my hair look natural and just as I hoped. And she explained what she was doing and why throughout.
Going/​staying blonde is an investment and a commitment, no doubt. Making sure it gets done right is worth it. This is the place.
