Worst Freakin’ Small A** Restaurant EVER!!! Made Reservations Here For My Birthday And Basically Was Completely Mislead By The Owner/Manger LENNY And Another Fake A** Manager JEAN For Telling Me One Thing One Minute, To Going There And Being Told Another Thing The Next Minute. The People At This Bullsh*t A** Establishment Doesn’t Even Commincate With One Another. Very Disrespectful And Racist, Only Attended And Serviced Those Whom Are Spanish. So Sad, My First And LAST Time At That Bullsh*t Place!!! I Give Them A Negative 0 For The Rudeness, With No Class Having A** Of Service.

Have been to Altus over the past few years and was just back to dinner for first time after renovation. PROS: Food much improved — had grilled octopus, yummy Hawaiian shrimp and truffle mac and cheese. Portions are generous. Our waiter was great CONS: when we arrived there was no host and had to wait over 5 minutes for someone to appear and take the responsibility of seating us. Later on in the evening the guy I have known prior to be the host appears on the upper level where we were. He planted himself at the table perpendicular to ours. Whether he sat there to stare at us or not — it was weird. He was sitting and playing on his phone, not eating or talking with anyone. Weird and seemingly unprofessional.

Our friends held a private baby shower on Saturday(rented the entire restaurant) Food was okay… had an appetizer sampler and the skirt steak w yucca fries for dinner(skirt steak was seasoned well)… but meat could have been more tender and the yucca fries were bland. It was a good place to host a party, but nothing spectacular.

Altus has been one of my favorites for years now. They were closed for some time but I am ecstatic they’re back and better than ever! Service is excellent, very friendly and attentive. The food is exquisite. I am currently beyond obsessed with their lobster tail and their significantly big and tasty steak! They have a live dj which will get just about anyone in a dance mood. Now, let’s talk drinks… They are the bomb! They are most popular for their«frozen blue drink» this drink is smooth n sweet but will totally get you in the zone. For the record, Altus didn’t start off as place I’d recommend(about 3yrs ago) but whoever the current chef is has totally blessed the place! Seriously Outstanding! … Maybe it’s the same chef I don’t know, but whatever is going on in that kitchen is HEAVENLY… PERFECTION. I mean it was 10 of us and everyone was amazed by the foo!

I’ve only really been here for boozy brunch. Their brunch is affordable, comes with a ton of food that is always good, and their drinks were really good. The waiters are regularly walking around refilling drinks. Service is a little slow though

This place was pretty bad. Food was nothing to brag about. Service wasn’t good wait time to be service was past ½ hr. Music was okay. Second Dj was not good at all. I wasn’t impressed by food not presentation. Server had no interest in having a conversation. He was just taking our order. Didn’t suggest anything. I won’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. Server wanted us to pay out tab before his shift was over. He watched us until we gathered out payment. Mind you we were seven total, Not coming back.

It was one of our fav spots to go and chill. I saw they remodeled it after they were close. We haven’t been there for a while since they were over pricing and on top of that adding gratuity to the bills when they didn’t even deserve it. Sometimes the food is good, sometimes is not. Same thing happen to the drinks and the service so idk why they are like a roller coaster. I like the ambiance and the vibe there, the shows and the music too. Depending on the day you go there it’s too noisy and the crowd kind of inappropriate. I liked it better before when they were an upscale restaurant and everything was nice and smooth. Just be careful with what you order and pray to get a good server and services. Lol!

So after being closed for what seem like over a year, Altus reopened. I personally didn’t see any drastic changes to the décor. The outside chairs weren’t even new. When we walked in the greeter couldn’t speak a lick of English. Yes, I am Latina but I still believe we should speak English and Spanish. While we were seated, waiting for our 3rd party, our menus were taken away from us because they didn’t have enough for a house that was only half way filled. Appetizers took 30 mins to come out and the main course took another 30 mins. My appetizer was incorrect the first time around. I had ordered the chicken pinchos and they brought me empanadas. However, I did enjoy my food though my other two companions did not. Aside from that, while we waited for our fourth party they took the fourth seat away from us. The drinks were ok but the service was lacking. Gratuity was added to a check for a party of 4. So basically the same old Altus with less English speaking workers and worse service.

I’ve been to Altus three times after they reopened. As always drinks have been amazing. First time during brunch food was amazing service was okay. Went for dinner drinks and service were both amazing. I went tonight for happy hour drinks and service was lacking. The waiter disappeared for 30 mins, and even after we got the bill I had to flag him down. I understand Monday’s are slow days, but still attend to your customers. I am giving 3 stars because of my past experiences.

Came here for drinks with my sister. Ordered the guava mojito on happy hour, which is 2 for one drinks from 4pm-9pm. By 8:35 we were done with our drinks and our waiter was no where to be found nor he checked in on us. By 9:05 we asked another waiter for drinks and he notified us we were not able to get the 2 for 1 because it was passed nine. We were okay with ordering another drink on regular price but we were unsatisfied with the fact that even 30 mins after 9pm our waiter still had not asked us if everything was okay. I gave two stars because the customer service is lacking. If you want good drinks come to altus. As long as you are ready to wait.

This place is not closed, I was there last night. Food is good, I had the churrasco and my boyfriend had the filet mignon and the plave itself is nice but Jesus Christ the service was TERRIBLE. They were slow and not attentive whatsoever. They need to improve their service ASAP.

I’m only giving it 2 stars because the drinks were delicious. Service was just awful. Came to brunch with 2 of my friends and although we were one of the first to arrive, everyone who came after us got their food before us. Not only that but my steak was well done after I asked for a medium temp, and my rice was a bit hard. Location is beautiful but I won’t be back.

I love that this place is all glass. I’ve been here for dinner, drinks and dancing several times and have always been pleased with the experience. The appetizers are delicious, even better than the entrees. The coconut shrimp, fried pork chunks and the chicken skewers are my favorite. I can’t say much for the entrees bc I usually go for the grilled chicken dish. The apple martinis here are very strong. They usually have great music playing although the DJs vary. On Tuesday nights, ladies get 2 coins on the way in. Each coin gets you a drink. I’m not sure if this has changed.

Altus Café is a trendy restaurant/bar located in Washington Heights. Anyone who frequents the area has either passed by it or heard of their famous Sunday brunches. I know I have. For Cinco de Mayo I joined some girlfriends at Altus to enjoy some drinks. The happy hour prices couldn’t be any better. Drinks, including pitchers, were 2 for 1. We decided to order a pitcher of their signature drink in order to take advantage of the special. For that specific occasion they offered a special Cinco de Mayo menu which included tacos, quesadillas, and other authentic Mexican dishes. As an appetizer we ordered the nachos, which were an entrée item on the menu, which was enough for all four of us. I very much enjoyed the steak tacos I ordered. In addition to our meal we were able to enjoy a hookah on the house. After the first hookah if you wanted a re-fill it was about $ 20, I believe. They even had a DJ playing various tunes that night and keeping the crowd going despite the fact that it was a Monday night. Overall, I don’t think I’d go back here for the dinner, but I would definitely go to enjoy some drinks, hookah, and good music.

Attended this place a couple of times… the food is mediocre and portions are very small. However these are the main problems: –Exorbitant prices($ 200+ for two people) –Despite the high prices they rush you in less than an hour(happened twice) –Waiters are not polite Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else and enjoy yourself.

Two stars because Altus Café looks pretty and my boyfriends churrasco was tasty. The yucca fries were good, but it’s not difficult to fry something and have it taste good. My chicken had no flavor. So sad :(alotta sauce, no boss… They added an 18% gratuity. 18%!!! When I asked if they normally do that, the waitress/hostess replied«sometimes we usually do that. After 10pm we do that.» T was 7pm. She said«I’ll take it off» Swindlers. Never going back.
