When the new owners took over they fixed the place up nice! There is more security now which rules, also the back patio is nice. However WARM beer. you don’t even have to taste it to know its warm. the poor girls bartending have to take 5 minutes scooping foam off of the pitchers(and with $ 5 thats what everyone is ordering) so much time wasted. i feel bad for you girls! the bathrooms WERE nice. they are now falling apart again. the mens room is bigger than the women’s… come on! us ladies need some stalls! personally i think the flow of the place needs to be moved around… the pool table is tucked in the corner and the video games are on the other side of the bar… there is a potential for a game room but its not being used to its advantage… just sayin… OH and stop with the horrible DJ’s! your attracting the wrong crowd! i mean if you want everyone on drugs there than have at it! but its uncomfortable for us patrons who want to feel safe /comfortable. mix up the nights! get variety!

TJ’s topped off a fun night out for our group this weekend. We came in later in the evening so didn’t try any food, but I am pretty sure they are the best deal in town for drink prices. The place is a little rough around the edges. It has a dive bar feel, but in a friendly way, if you know what I mean. Case in point, the bathrooms,(which are super-important to me) were immaculate and relatively new. You don’t get that in many«dive bars». The space is small, but didn’t feel too cramped. They had a DJ playing some great hip hop and we even had enough space to do a little dancing. The one criticism I had is the music was slightly too loud for me. I think just a tiny bit lower would make it more comfortable. It was late October so too cold to spend much time on the patio at night, but I looked and the space out there is really nice, and big. The bartenders were excellent. They paid attention, we never waited for a drink, and like I already said the prices kept surprising us! We’ll definitely be back.

During the International Chili Cookoff, we had had enough 1 ounce portions of chili and expensive beer, so we walked over to TJ’s to fill up. We found a table of chili cookoff judges. The judges figured out where to go for $ 2 beer — the same beer that the cookoff vendor was pouring in the beer tent for $ 5. We ordered wings, a burger, nachos and jalapeño poppers. All of the food was fine, when it came out. The cook lost the dupe. The waitress comped a round. Nice. I wandered out on the patio and it was full of new tables, recently painted walls and much more attractive than it was the last time I looked out there.

Wow! What a dump! A friend of mine found out about this place after a Monarchs game. The other bars we normally go to were busy. TJ’s had about 20 people in it tops. We thought that might of been a good thing so we could relax and chill. We would of never known this bar was here. Good thing. No sign out on the place. The drinks were weak(we each had just one because of how bad this place was), the music they had was terrible and nothing but thrash metal. My girlfriend asked the bartender if we could hear some regular rock or something but she just gave her a dirty look. When we first walked in we were going to order food but we over heard someone complaining about the the wait. My buddy just happened to meet the owner. He was sitting at the bar drinking and was wasted! Is that even legal? The only good thing I saw about the place was all their TV’s. And wouldn’t you know it… just as we were leaving there was a fight outside and no one who worked there went out to try to stop it or call the cops. There are so many bars here in Manchester. And this one should be shut down! Don’t waste your time here!!!

TJ’s is a new place in Manchester with an excellent atmosphere to sit and drink beer and watch a game. TJ’s has a very cozy and warm feel inside. The space is well utilized and personal. The food at TJ’s is simply awesome and the menu has about anything you could think of, from Chinese food to bar food to steak and back again. Right now TJ’s is on a limited liquor license and can only have drinks out until 10PM but that shouldn’t stop you from making a trip into TJ’s to order a Stromboli and a Cherry Wheat Sam Adams. Stop by on a Sunday afternoon and watch some football with us.
