Best soup in Manchester. I work on Elm Street and on my lunch hour, I walk past 5 or 6 other restaurant options on my way to Hanover just for their soup and service. Their soup is always handmade and fresh, with a variety of options including options for Vegan and Vegetarians. Their sandwiches are delicious too. I highly recommend, and consider it well worth the walk. Their busiest time is probably 12 – 1, which is when they ask that you call ahead to prepare your order in advance. Great service and delicious food.

I came here for lunch with two of my colleagues. I am a huge fan of chilli and after seeing some kind of statement about the Best Chilli in NH I had to check out Soupys. It was also a gloomy rainy day making a soup restaurant the most appealing, and who wouldn’t want to check out a restaurant called Suddenly Soupy’s? The place is run by a wife a husband and when we entered the tiny place, we noticed many of the few tables were labeled with a Reserved sign. Seemed odd considering the restaurants size but when we told the owner we would be sitting for lunch, he removed a Reserved sign and sat us, which was fine. We all ordered chilli but as it was approaching 1pm, they seemed to have run out of most of the chilli and one of my coworkers ordered a grilled cheese instead. So get here before 1 if you want chilli, it must be in high demand, and the place closes around 2:30. The chilli was very good. It was chunky with lots of beef and veggies and served with optional cheese on top. The flavor was delicious although a bit more salty than I usually like and could have been spicier, but that’s preference. My coworkers enjoyed their chilli and said the grilled cheese on sourdough was very tasty. I plan on visiting this place again in the winter.

Can’t speak for the food. Came one Saturday morning with a few friends looking to get some egg sandwiches. One, the door was still locked around 10 when the hours state they open at 9 and two, when we we’re finally allowed in, we told her our intentions and she less than politely stated they don’t have eggs. It was awkward. Not a good first impression given the Unilocal reviews. We went to Chestnut Café instead, they have eggs on their menu AND in their restaurant.

Tried this restaurant shortly after moving to Manchester. Went back a few weeks later and they remembered us and thanked us for coming back. Small, family owned place. Try the chili, it was excellent.

I so wanted to like this place, and had very high hopes, but – unfortunately – it was a bit of a disappointment. Located on Hanover Street, in the quaint theater district, I had been eager to try this spot. As a vegetarian who digs soups and salads, I thought that this was right up my alley. My husband recently stopped in for take-out, picking me up a Veggie Supreme(on a wheat wrap, minus the ranch dressing, and with avocado added) and a tomato noodle soup(their vegetarian soup offering of the day, which I was happy to see that they serve daily). He chose a Reuben sandwich for himself. The soup was OK… while it packed some flavor, it was very mild, almost like water had been added to a once richer, more robust original soup. As for my husband’s Reuben, he also described it as OK… with nothing really remarkable about it. My wrap was the biggest let-down of the items. While it was obvious that fresh ingredients were used, which is always a plus, it was extremely salty. I am not sure if it was the hummus or the dried veggie seasoning that they use. The ratio of vegetables to hummus/avocado was also askew, so it didn’t have much crunch or substance to it. After a few bites, I had to toss it. All in all, while I cannot comment on a dine-in experience, we most likely won’t be back for a second try. 3 items, 3 strikes. Super bummer.

Food is amazing, but the service was slow especially for a lunch place. I’d recommend just calling ahead to place your order and then simply pick it up.

Great food but the service is horrible. They close at 2:30 and told me to pick my order up and 2:30 and when I arrived the place was all locked up. I called and the lady that answered was EXTREMELYRUDE and ranted«we don’t play games» & «I don’t have to answer to anybody». What happened to the customer is always right? And a bit of appreciation.

My husband and I had a light lunch before a Saturday matinée show at the Palace theatre. We were impressed. I had the broccoli soup, he had the tomato rice and we shared a grilled cheese. Simple, quick, light, priced right, with fast and friendly service. I will definitely order take for lunch soon since I will soon be working in the area now.

I work down the street and come here several times a month to take out a salad for lunch. I have always been happy with my salads: they have always been fresh and just the right size. The service is always friendly and appreciative.

This is my go-to spot for a quick, cheap, delicious lunch. The staff are so kind and willing to make just about anything you ask for. Highly recommend the Soupy’s Cheese Melt and Chicken Rice soup.

I don’t enjoy writing bad reviews but I have to stand by at least THREE other reviewer and say I too have been greeted repeatedly by a RUDE and unprofessional owner who seems to have no regard for customer service or offering consistent hours. After one visit and repeated attempts to go back and finally on the last attempt greeted with a closed shop, during OPEN hours ! And was literally«waved away» and yelled at through a closed door, by the owner, I would suggest not supporting this business. That’s my opinion based on my experiences with this place. There are a number of alternatives including almost directly across the street on Hanover. On the very same day I was brushed away very rudely, I went across the street to Suddenly Susan’s which was also closing early however they offered to still make us a sandwich, and told us «hey we are actually closing early but we could get you something» we declined out of respect for the employees and thanked them for being friendly and helpful. Choose on of Manchester’s business that care about service. There are plenty!

in an area with a number of lunch hour options Suddenly Soupy’s is top on my list. Great homemade vegan(as well as many meaty) options and a great, friendly, and conscious staff. if you’re in a hurry call your order in.

No frills, quick service & speedy delicious food. Grilled cheese & chili was amazing together! Waitress/owner(I’m presuming) is a little brash but made sure all orders were taken care of properly despite a customers rude attitude.

I go here during the week sometimes for lunch and it is always good. It is family owned and the couple are so nice and are always accommodating. They always remember me too. The food has always been good too. Would recommend!

Soupy’s is quite the hidden gem! This family owned and operated nook offers breakfast, lunch, and –of course– soup. The Hungarian mushroom soup and corn chowder are my two favorites. Everything is(home)made to order and prepared with fresh ingredients. There are plenty of veggie and non-veggie options on the menu. The wait at lunch time can be 10 – 20 minutes, so call ahead if you can!

I happened across Suddenly Soupy’s when I spotted their sign out on Hanover Street and decided to give it a go for lunch. I got the Avo sandwhich and it was fantastic! Everything tasted so fresh and all of the flavors melded together so well YUM! And I felt like the prices for everything were very reasonable and even less expensive than other places in the area. Since then I have gone back a few times and continued to thoroughly enjoy the food, as well as the friendliness of all of the staff. They really show their appreciation for your business, and they turn out a delicious product! And of course it is always great to support a local small business such as this one!

Suddenly Soupy’s is one of my favorite places to get lunch downtown. The woman who works there is always friendly and makes conversation with me whenever I come in for lunch. The first time I was there when I placed my order she made sure that I wasn’t allergic to any of the ingredients before making it, which I was very impressed with. The menu offers a nice variety of wraps & other foods for vegetarians and the ingredients are always fresh. Prices are great for the size & quality, at least for the wraps, which is what I always get. My fave is «The Avo» which includes sprouts, lemon juice, spices, Havarti cheese, and — you guessed it — avocado. My only qualm is that they’re only open until 2:30 which strikes them out for me if I have to take a late lunch at work. If you’re in the downtown area and want a nice little place to grab a bite, check them out!

Outstanding. We have been to Suddenly Soupy’s many times and will go back again and again. Their secret? Fresh, homemade food. Literally. The soup could have been made in the owner’s kitchen and brought to the shop to sell. You cannot go wrong with any food served here. Yes, the woman who runs the place may seem a bit cold, but she is actually quite nice. We have eaten in but usually take out. If you want to take out, call ahead as has been suggested already by other Unilocalers.

Cute and quaint. Reliable coffee. I usually just get things to go. Call ahead if you must. It’s convenient. The lady who runs the joint comes off a bit brash and cold, but that’s only exterior. We had a heart to heart the other day and she says she wakes up at 4am every morn to «make good food». and it really is good food. homemade and real. Every tomato soup or broccoli quiche is like mama’s home cookin’. $ 5 cc minimum. Open weekdays til 3pm only.

Suddenly Soupys is a great place to go for breakfast or lunch. I had a breakfast egg sandwich and it was delicious. The woman in charge at the counter was friendly and helpful. I always enjoy mom and pop type places like this. Suddenly Soupys is a jewel of a find in the heart of Downtown Manchester on Hanover St just around the corner from Elm St. Check it out !!! There is a parking garage nearby on Vine St. Make sure you dont’ lose the yellow chip(keep it in your car for when you exit)
