I don’t know about you but I love a margarita, refried beans and a burrito for lunch the price is spot on for a lunch time treat It may not be completely true Mexican food but who here in the USA really can tell you differently for as many times as I’ve gone to Mexico the USA version here is not bad I’ll keep you posted when I move to Mexico in the next few months Be well and be happy you have good to enjoy

This place stinks! The food is not good and the service isn’t either. There are a lot of places that are much better choices if you want Mexican food. The only saving grace was the dos Equis Amber on tap in a cold glass. Don’t waste your money!

It’s been awhile since I’ve eaten here, but I’m pretty sure they had a change in management. The menu looks different, but they have a nice variety of choices. The menu«sounds» tasty with different descriptions of the food, but everything myself and family and friends have eaten has basically tasted the same; one spice mix used on everything??? Our last trip was the worst by far, sadly. Took over 20mins to get us two drinks, the server(who was actually the manager) lost or forgot our order! Then when we did get the drinks they were VERYSTRONG! I like to drink and don’t usually complain about«strong drinks» but WOW! Both our meals tasted the same. I had the Texas Fajitas and my husband had the Pina Loca(grilled half a pineapple filled with beef and chicken). Presentations were nice, but taste was subpar and very greasy. We were able to get two free desserts after complaining about our experience. We had the Berry White cheesecake, they definitely come frozen and we were glad they were free because they aren’t even close to being worth the $ 7 they charge for a slice. Overall disappointing, especially when we have enjoyed it in the past. Hope they can find solutions to their issues!

One of my favorite places for a bite to eat in Manchester. I sincerely miss it! I do. Sometimes it hurts that I cant afford to go but when I can, Ill definitely stop by and spoil myself. Gorgeous waiters who give me fabulous customer service, delicious filling Mexican food, awesome Mexican music playing, etc. I just hate that I cant always afford it and it can be tough to find a seat since its so popular especially on the weekends and holidays. I just pray I’m not seated near some weirdos with a creepy Latin American fetish because it did happen to me once. Other than that, great.

This is a favorite of mine. The food is always good, table side guac is yummy and I always get the flag. Ask for the white sauce for the chips, the salsa is good but my family prefers the white sauce. The big beers are huge, like 3.5 regular beers. The service is great and quick.

Great food at great prices. Super fast and friendly staff. I especially like when they make the fresh guacamole at your table

The food here can be very inconsistent… but I must say we have had some great dinners out here. And my wife reminds me that our last few trips her have been very good. OMG nachos… margaritas as appetisers! Our last orders were camarones mojo de ajo and pina loco… both great! Flan for dessert is not ground breaking but sure did satisfy the craving. Visit this location at Manchesters.

This place is pretty great. The atmosphere is nice when you walk in, and the tables are nice and comfortable. I would definitely suggest getting the guacamole appitizer. They make it for you table side and it is pretty delicious. I ordered a Margarita once we sat, and I have to say this was the best margarita I have had in a long time. I was very impressed. We ordered buritos and chimichongas which were equally excellent. I was pleasantly surprised with the kitchen and the bar. Our server didn’t have much of a personality, and neither did the host. I asked for recommendations, however our server didn’t seem to know much about the menu. All in all, a nice experience and I would go back.

Wish they had a check-out button. I should have taken pictures of the staff looking at us and looking away. We figured ten minutes was appropriate. No greeting no hey we’re backed up be right with you. Stay classy Plaza!

Service is hit or miss when it comes down to accuracy but they are always friendly. I ordered la piña loca, I wasn’t sure how a hollowed out pineapple filled with chicken and other things would turn out. It was fantastic.

I didn’t like the food, plain and simple. The food was underwhelming, bland and disappointing. I had the Baja fish tacos, it was literally fish sticks wrapped in microwaved tortillas topped with processed corn, Cole slaw and a very sweet cilantro based sauce. No bueno :( While we were there they had signs advertising several specials, however the waiter could not tell us about any of them because he «couldn’t explain it in English». On top of that my Mojito sucked… What Tex-Mex restaurant can’t make a classic Mojito? They served me a tequila drink with limes and leaves floating in it. Mojitos are made with Rum :-/I asked the waiter if I could swap it out and it became a federal case. Two different managers stopped by the table to investigate the«mojito» lol. They were very apologetic and approved my swap for a Margarita. The margarita wasn’t much better but was at least drinkable. Some of my dining companions said their food was good, but they ordered very simple things like nachos and quesadillas. Overall I’ve had better food at Taco Bell. What really tanks this place is that the quality of food is not worthy of the price tag.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Not only is the food overpriced for what you get, the customer service is non-existent. My boyfriend and I ordered delivery from here for his birthday dinner, we got veggie fajitas and a few other things. The guacamole was a TINY portion for $ 10.00, there were mushrooms in the veggies when the menu did not say that(my boyfriend HATES mushroom and this was his birthday dinner). They also forgot the tortillas for the fajitas so we couldn’t eat any of it! Then after calling to speak with the manager to get our order fixed he was incredibly rude and refused to give us a refund. I will be speaking to corporate about the disgusting treatment I received after spending $ 60.00 at an overpriced restaurant.

«Meh» is the perfect word to describe this place. It’s pretty much what you would expect for a chain Mexican place. Nothing particularly authentic about it, although the guacamole made tableside is a nice touch. The service was fine. Nothing special, but not terrible. The restaurant itself is huge and has a separate bar area if you just want drinks/bar food. They start you off with a nacho basket filled with bland nacho chips and a side of bland sauce. If you want real nachos, you’re going to have to buy the ones on the appetizer menu for $ 12. Being a vegetarian I ordered soup and salad. The Corn Soup was actually very good, but the salad was pretty bad. I maybe ate 3 bites and decided it wasn’t going to work. There goes another $ 13. I bet you’re wondering why a vegetarian would go to a mexican place(wasn’t my idea) and why mexican places even sell salad(don’t know), but it was literally one of the only things I could eat on the menu. I was tempted to just ask for plain cheese quesadillas, but there was nothing like that on the menu and didn’t want to get charged another $ 13 for a plain quesadilla. I WILL give Plaza Azteca credit for huge portions. You will not leave hungry if you like what you order. I guess my problem with this place is that it’s located in the buckland hills mall area, where there are so many other good(read: better) options. So if you’re tired of Carrabba’s, Hometown Buffet, Sonic, etc, you wouldn’t have the worst time here.

Consistently great food and a nice environment. Table side guac is a necessity. You may find a slight communication barrier with the wait staff, but once your order is in the food arrives very quickly.

Awesome food in an upscale environment. I think I made a poor drink choice by getting a margarita special – tasted overpoweringly strong. I like a strong margarita but only if it’s also savory. Fresh guac made tableside – SO addictive. My friends and I couldn’t get enough and ate it all with fervor. My entrée of fajitas was also delicious and filling. Great place to relax, chat, and chow down on Mexican.

I’ve been here three times now. I don’t really remember much about my first visit except that we were seated pretty quickly and sat in a booth. The second time we came we had to wait for about 10 minutes. It was a weekend night so that’s actually pretty good. We ordered the table side guacamole. It was just OK. I will say that I really like the chips that come with the salsa. Not my favorite of all time, but pretty good. I had the Baja Fish tacos. They come with a corn and citrus cole slaw which is well intended, but just wasn’t for me since I don’t really like corn much. The citrus just added to the sweetness of the corn, which is the main thing I don’t like about it. Adding to that was the fact that it was a slaw rather than a salad so it was slaw-y(i.e., covered in a mayo sauce) that just really turned me off of the whole restaurant. For our third trip(yes I came back — sigh), I had the Bollywood Burrito. I asked for it to be dairy free and they accommodated. It is a 10″ burrito people so please don’t eat all of the chips and salsa and then ask for more. Regrets. I was only able to eat about one fifth of it. Smh. It was fine. No complaints, but nothing particularly stand out about it. I would prefer this with maybe a black bean rather than refried. Overall it withstood the night so I’m going to finish it for lunch. I think what’s missing about this place to me is a real sense of freshness. Things just taste sort of pre-packaged and straight out of a can, etc. For the price I really feel like the food could be fresher. If you’re wondering why I’ve been to a restaurant that I don’t like three times it’s because for some reason my partner loves this place. He always wants to go there. He’ll eat anything lol. He gets the steak fajita and he loves it. Just going to note that this is also on my «Just Say No» list for the lactose intolerant. Everything has cheese or cream of some kind. They will accommodate requests for no dairy to the best of their ability, but then things often just taste kind of sad without.

This place is a poorly run, poorly executed chain restaurant. Very little authenticity here. My girlfriend enjoyed her margaritas and the table side guacamole. This was the only part we enjoyed. The entrees were sloppy. We had fajitas. The onions and peppers we burnt and over cooked. The steak was tough and almost flavorless. The server was nice but the restaurant stunk like actual garbage. Like someone was storing garbage bags under the bench seating. And the only thing that was able to over power the garbage odor was the smell of strong cleaning products being used. You could taste it. If you’re in the mood for a taco I’d suggest you go down the street either way to chipotle or pancheros.

** This update is in regards to dining in for a group of 15. We footed the bill! As such, my latest experience with the Plaza Azteca Manchester location was for my «Guest What, I’m Pregnant!/Moving Back to Boston» party on Saturday, 8⁄16. Plaza Azteca, for the most part, has amazing food and it was the only type of food I could see my ILs(coming from Norwich vs H and I coming from W Hartford) and I agreeing upon. That said, three weeks before our tentative party, I tried to make reservations at the Plaza Azteca in Newington, but the hostess rudely informed me that there would be no way to hold a table for 15 for an evening reservation– that a lunch time reservation would be our only option. Welps, I called the closest location, Manchester, and guess what– they were able to accommodate a party of 15 for a 7pm reservation on Saturday! Winner, winner chicken dinner! Thank you, Oscar(the manager who helped me secure the spot)! H and I(along with our four nieces and nephews, ranging from 8 to 14) were the first to arrive. We had one server who got us drinks and apps– I thought, «Ok, this must be because the rest of our party hasn’t arrived yet.» but even after my ILs, came we still only had one server. ONESERVER– WTF? That poor waiter had to deal with a rambunctious group of Puerto Ricans(who wept and were deliriously happy, but were cranky and hungry)… and he just did not serve us fast enough(we waited almost 45 minutes for our food, extra order of drinks, extra napkins, etc) and forgot a number of things we repeatedly asked for. In regards to the service, I think it was the fault of the manager on staff(not staffing our table well enough, even though I gave them plenty of time in advanced) and the waiter’s lack of basic serving skills… In regards to food, it was delicious– as it always is. My SIL is a picky eater(she had just moved back to the States after living in Puerto Rico), and she had absolutely no complaints. Everything tasted so damn good(albeit lukewarm, thanks to server’s lack of attention?)! Moreover, the kids’ meals we ordered were just ok… I’ve never ordered kids’ meals at Azteca before, but pizza and fries, nuggets and fries, etc were typical of American restaurants and tasted like so…

I chose to dine here mostly because I was craving Mexican and although the reviews seem to be all over the place I do trust my fellow Unilocalers that I associate with and trust their honest reviews and they all are in agreement even though quite a bit of time has past since their reviews. To start this is a very impressive restaurant in regards to the décor and shear beauty, the atmosphere projects comfort and authenticity even though I knew the food would be somewhat Americanized how could it be anything else. The service was excellent Cynthia was absolutely on top of her game from the greeting to the level of attentiveness she scored a ten. The management also were very appreciative and made this a great experience from start to finish. — Ice Cold Dos Equis on draft with a fresh lime in a frozen mug(awesome) — Fresh chips with a great slightly spicy salsa I loved the flavor and texture. — «Texas» Fajitas Wow! large tender shrimp, perfect sized strips of chicken and steak sautéed with thin slices of onions and peppers served piping hot with warm flour or corn tortillas and accompanied with great rice, cheese and salsa(some of the best I’ve had in a long time) I will keep this option open for future visits.

Vegetarians beware, and vegans, just, nope. I balked at going here after a quick look at the menu. However, I was part of a group, so I sucked it up and gave in. I should have just stayed in the car. Our server was Waldi, and he is the only reason this isn’t a one star review. He was quick on the drinks refills, and super personable. When I asked if the Chiles Emperador could be made without cheese, he took the time to go back into the kitchen and ask. They assured him it was no problem. Fast forward to my Chiles arriving literally smothered in cheese. SMOTHERED. He apologized, and the manager came over to tell me they could not, in fact, be made without cheese. Weird. So I ordered a small plate of veggie tacos instead, while the rest of the table dug into their meals. When the plate arrived, it was a mess of rice and beans, and two sad flour tortillas with some random sautéed veggies inside. No lettuce, no sauce, no pico, no flavor. I took two bites and was all set. When Waldi asked how it was, I told him I could make it better at home. He was completely on my side. My omnivore, cheese loving friends, loved their meals. They actually frequent Azteca. So, if you love meat and cheese, don’t let this review deter you. The manager allowed the meal that I took two bites of to still end up on our bill, and we actually had to request to have it removed. Not great customer service, at all. Luckily, through the whole experience, our server was super awesome and amazing. The only way I’d go back is for the house habanero salsa, and the margaritas at happy hour. Otherwise, there are far better Mexican places around that make terrific vegetarian food.
