The cupcakes are extremely moist. I just wish I could get there earlier enough to get some of the special flavors. I always want Red Velvet and am always disappointed until I tried Love Struck… so good.

Danacakes is AMAZING. I find that the chocolate cupcakes are much more moist than the vanilla. I’m not normally a chocolate cake fan, but here I am. That would be my only improvement on them.
But I love the Black Velvet and Breakfast at Tiffanys! The girls that work there are always friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go get another one!

These are definitely some moist and flavorful cupcakes. The icing is also very tasty. Just the right amounts of sweetness, without it being overbearing. Extremely memorable.
I enjoy these cupcakes MUCH more than the ones from Buttercup and Crumbs. They could seriously learn a thing or two from DanaCakes on how to keep a cupcake MOIST.
The ladies who work here are very sweet and helpful. The first time I stumbled upon this place, they were packing each of the cupcakes I purchased in clear plastic cups. However, they now have nice boxes. So it’s much easier to transport these delicious baked goodies.
There is a buy 10 get 1 free cupcake card. So if you visit this place often, don’t forget to get your card stamped.
{Tip} Store any unfinished cupcakes in an air tight container. They taste great the 2^nd and even 3^rd day!

My boyfriend came home with 2 of the Oreo cookies & cream cupcakes… and they were both gone within a few hours. And we kept talking about how good they were for the entire weekend. We’re addicted and can’t wait to try all of the flavors!

DanaCakes is located in Manassas Mall at one of those kiosks that usually have annoying people trying to sell you something. No need for these guys to run after customers, though. People were flocking around this colorful cupcake stand.
I drove all the way from Alexandria to come here and try them so I figured I’d make it worth my while and get half a dozen for $ 17. This is highly unusual for me since cupcakes are not very friendly for a 1300/​cal a day diet. But I can say that they did stay fresh over a few days. The girl working there suggested just keeping them in Tupperware.
I highly recommend the Pink Velvet I don’t know what to say about it other than IT WAS GOOD! And it reminded me of the LivingSocial cupcake!
I was not crazy about the Chocolate Peanut Butter. To be honest, I didn’t like it at all and didn’t even finish eating it. :-(Something was off with the peanut butter icing.
I’m a fan because a) they really are good. I’m interested in trying some other flavors. and b) I love the name (It’s true.) I just don’t know if I’d be willing to drive to Manassas just to get them when there are plenty of places here in Alexandria or DC. However, if I’m ever in the area again, I’d totally stop by.

The absolute best cupcakes I have EVER had!!!

Dana Oliver’s DanaCakes are absolutely scrumptious. Moist, tender cake with rich, creamy frosting — so delicious! I ordered her Lemon Lift and Red Velvet cupcakes for a bachelorette party — they were the perfect late night post-​dance party snack! And Dana decorates them so prettily, they make the perfect dessert to bring to your next special occasion. Can’t get enough of these cupcakes!
